Woodland wedding invitation by Ohhh So Darling

I’m a fan of all things different, of little pieces of loveliness with personality, charm and their own enchanting style. Boho weddings are wonderful – individuality and relaxed, rustic style is right up my street! My dream wedding would be woodlandy or beachy with fun instead of frills… and the stationery would be boho, illustrated, and oh-so-slightly quirky. If you’re like me then you’ll love this little curation of boho wedding invitations. See where to buy in the listings below. You’re welcome!Claire

How DIY are you, really? If you’ve felt the pressure to make your own wedding… [fill in the blank with pretty much anything here] – and your fingers aren’t buzzing with craftitude – then I’m here to show you there are plenty of other options out there.

Yay! wedding invitation by Style & Joy

Contrary to popular belief, making your own wedding invitations won’t necessarily save you money. If you’re photoshopping, printing at home, buying card, trimming, sticking bits on, tying with ribbon etc. you will be spending more than you think and fizzling time away as if you were never that bothered about having a social life in the first place 😉

So stop and reconsider. There are options. Affordable wedding invitations can be fab – oh, and we’re not talking cheap eBay invites here either. Here’s a collection of beautifully designed, nicely printed, good quality wedding invitations which won’t break the bank or indeed you, your nails or your plans for the weekend. Enjoy!

Supporting little indie businesses is wonderful. There are hundreds of amazing and dedicated independent designers pouring their hearts and souls into their creations – and having to compete with the big boys. It ain’t easy – so every little bit of support you can give to indie wedding stationers is worth its weight in gold. Here are some of my favourite wedding invitations featuring pretty, quirky and unique illustrations.Claire

Morning! I hope you’re having a lovely day! I’m plotting and planning for another exciting weekend by the seaside, but in the meantime I have some really inspiring weddings to show you this week. Kirsty and Luke’s big day is all about the big city – with a London wedding theme in their fab and quirky table stationery, and lots of very cool details. A more gorgeous and generous couple I’ve yet to see! I love these two!

London wedding by Cecelina Photography (4)

Kirsty and Luke chose Cecelina Photography to capture their day on camera. I love Cecelina’s story: she grew up in Sweden and came to London a few years ago. With little more than her beloved camera she has built a life here and is following her dream of being a photographer. What a wonderful adventure!

Kirsty’s wedding report has a mega list of other wedding suppliers she recommends – and this is something I really love to see. Wedding blogs are all about helping you, lovely readers! When Kirsty said to me, “We would love it if you could mention all of them as they all played a big part in our day. However, if you can’t please let us know…” I was delighted. The more the merrier, if you ask me!

unique wedding stationery by Bunny Delicious (4)

I have pet names for only a very select few wedding stationers. Zoe from Bunny Delicious just happens to be top of my list, and in more ways than one. I can’t remember quite where ‘Miss Delicious’ came from, but I like the sauciness of it… and it makes me smile whenever I see a Bunny Delicious design! I’ve known Zoe via the miracles of our modern interweb for years – and I’ve watched her creativity with growing delight.

Believe it or not, while the shops are throwing tinsel and festive 3 for 2s at us and a few of us are looking at white-capped hills on the horizon (I can’t believe it, can you?!) it’s already time for summer 2011 brides and grooms to start thinking about booking wedding stationery.

When to order wedding invitations

When you should order depends where you’re buying your wedding invitations from. If you’re ordering luxury handcrafted wedding invites, November is a good time to get started.

Smaller companies are limited in the number of bookings they take on: this is because they generally concentrate on one order at a time, and because they sometimes have only one or two pairs of hands to work with!

Ordering wedding invitations before Christmas

Some of the popular wedding stationery suppliers get booked up very quickly. I saw on bunny delicious’s facebook page yesterday that Zoe is fully booked for August 2011! (Round of applause for Zoe, please!)
