Hello everyone! So have you ‘done’ a wedding fair yet this year? The season is nearly over but one of the biggies happens this weekend – Brides The Show hits Battersea Park this Saturday the 22nd of March and with well over 100 exhibitors it’s going to be busy, exciting and packed full of ideas. Avoid wedding fair blindness! Make a plan before you go!

I’ve been on both ‘sides’ at wedding fairs: I’ve been to plenty as a visitor, a blogger / reporter and an exhibitor. So I consider myself pretty well qualified to help you get the best of a wedding fair without being completely overwhelmed by the buzz of it all!

  1. Have a strategy – know why you’re going to the wedding show, plan to book or make appointments with key suppliers and escape before you get sore feet and too many leaflets and flyers!

Last year I exhibited at my first wedding show in a long while, and watched as one exceptionally happy bride saw, tried, and then bought her wedding dress within half an hour of arriving. She was as surprised as anyone to have found ‘the one’ at the wedding show, but she was so happy and I always remember seeing her on that day! But would you buy your wedding dress at a wedding show? Often they’re more useful for seeing wedding dresses in action – seeing a dress in a photograph or on a hanger doesn’t come close to seeing how it will move as you walk, or how the fabric falls and flatters your shape.

The Catwalk at Brides The Show

There will be two distinct catwalk shows running alternately over the course of the weekend of Brides The Show on Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd March.

Finding wedding suppliers can be all too easy – in fact I suspect these days it’s a little overwhelming for brides and grooms who search online and discover dozens, if not hundreds of suppliers for everything. Where to start?! Every blog has a recommended suppliers list; every magazine has adverts; every online directory has pages of links… it can all be a little confusing. Wouldn’t it be easier to source your wedding suppliers all in one day then?
