Whatever else influences your wedding day, the key focus should be on personality. Make sure your wedding is ‘you’ and don’t let suppliers, families or wedding magazines tell you what to do. Guys and girls, I’m here to tell you that if you’d like to have a Doctor Who theme then you should absolutely go for it, and make it awesome!

Matthew and Emma’s wedding in Hertfordshire had a subtle Doctor Who theme running throughout the day. They used blue as a key colour and had little touches like neon lighting in the flower centrepieces to hint at their theme… which was realised well and truly with a Doctor Who cake topper: bride + groom + tardis!

Their day begins with a classic church wedding and ends with both mums rocking out on the dancefloor to Teenage Dirtbag. Shall we dive in? Congratulations and huge thanks to gorgeous couple Matthew and Emma, and thanks as ever to lovely Leicestershire wedding photographer Alix Marina-Chouhan of Lumiere Photography. Everyone, enjoy! My boyfriend called me Bookworm once just after we’d met… and I secretly love the nickname! Nothing beats the smell of a book, the design of a cover, the nostalgia of old literary treasures or the excitement of new editions. So when two weddings with Penguin books influencing their styling come along all at once, I’m over the moon!

Today I’m sharing Lucy and Dimitri’s wedding with you all. They married at the Macdonald Bath Spa Hotel in Bath and were keen to have a fun and relaxed wedding day. The conventional white wedding dress was nowhere to be seen with Lucy looking absolutely amazing in a stunning blue 1950s style cocktail dress. Dimitri makes a gorgeous groom in Hugo Boss – and together with friends and family today’s couple created a lovely celebration I’m proud to share with you today!

Congratulations to Lucy and Dimitri, and thank you for sharing your wedding report with me and my readers. You’re fantastic! Thank you to Becky Male Photography for submitting all the lovely images – I hope you love the feature and get tons of ideas from all the pics! Enjoy! Claire x

Did you see Louisa and Dan’s wedding day on the blog yesterday? I held back all the pics of their reception venue because they’d done such an amazing job decorating – nay transforming – a village hall into a beautiful, blue wedding reception room.

I’ve been playing with the gorgeous pics though, and I think you’ll love the inspiration board I made from Neil Redfern’s wedding photography. I’ve also added a gallery for you to see the pictures larger at the end too.

I can’t get over what a brilliant job Louisa did with decorating the village hall for her wedding reception. Friends and family were a great help – Louisa said, “I had a team of wonderful friends and family who helped me put up decorations bought from eBay, including organza lengths of material, chinese style different coloured paper lanterns and metres of bunting made by my mother in law and bridesmaid!”
