I think it was the little birds on the table stationery which I fell in love with first. Then I saw how gorgeous Lizzy and Josh were, how beautifully they’d incorporated countryside touches and bright, colourful styling into their day – and I was smitten. This is a stunning wedding from beautiful Sussex venue Chafford Park, with our lovely friend and English Wedding Blog sponsor Penny Young behind the camera. Grab a cuppa, settle down somewhere cosy and enjoy!

Handmade was a big part of our day – the venue is in a beautiful setting, but is a blank canvass. We wanted it to very feel personal to us, and to enjoy a full year of preparations. We picked our own flowers at Blooming Green and arranged into mismatched jugs, just using tape to give structure instead of oasis. We also made our own buttonholes, boutonnieres, flower girl basket and bouquets.

Say the words “Winnie the Pooh – not Disney” and I’m on your side already 🙂 Liz and Jimmy’s wedding is creative and fun, with playful touches like everyone’s (original!) favourite bear – and I love it!

Today’s gorgeous couple married in Marple Bridge, with their reception at the fabulous Peruga restaurant. They incorporated the things they love: spring flowers and bright colours, and a nod to surfing… despite being 60 miles from the sea!

Liz’s advice that “DIY isn’t necessarily cheaper” is so very true, and while the crafty touches on their day are wonderful I’d urge brides and grooms to consider buying when time is short. Spend your weekends playing out and having fun instead! What I really do love is the ‘Expotition Beer’ which was especially made by a local craft brewery… to find out more read Liz and Jimmy’s English Wedding Blog interview at the end of today’s post!

Hey there lovelies! It’s on days like today I wish you were here with me, helping me choose the best of all the gorgeous images I’m sent for every real wedding feature. Because to be honest, today’s Fanhams Hall wedding is so beautiful I’m simply lost for where to begin!

Today’s stunning bride Nicola wears a Galina Signature gown from David’s Bridal. She looks incredible with a navy sash belt and crystal hair accessory – and oh, those flowers… nothing provides texture more than fabulous blue thistles and berries, while the roses add glamour and anemones complete the romantic bouquet. LOVE!

I can tell Nicola and Adam were inspired by wedding blogs and Pinterest: the chalkboards (and hours learning how to get the lettering just perfect!), anenomes and attention to detail are ideas I love to share on the English Wedding Blog so this blog-inspired wedding is more than perfect!

Charlie and Ashok are amazing. A gorgeous couple, perfectly matched and full of ideas and inspiration for a magical wedding day. Their celebrations fuse vibrant Indian colours with pretty English flowers and contemporary wedding design. It’s just so very beautiful.

Charlie’s a stunning bride, wearing a statement headpiece with her simple white dress; and rocking a gorgeous red sari for the Indian ceremony. Two dresses – both incredible –  and all that wonderful henna looks out of this world.

The images from Ashok and Charlie’s day are by Paul Fuller Kent Photography. Paul said of their day, “The colour, the energy is all just so intense that you can’t help but be mesmerized by the beauty of it all. A Sikh ceremony followed by a church service and back to Charlie’s parents’ place for the food, drinks and dancing, it all sounded incredible, and so it proved to be!

It makes a nice change to focus on the men in our lives on the English Wedding Blog – and while I try and include everyone in all of my features, and advocate planning your day as a couple, men often take a back seat when it comes to wedding planning. Not today though! Yesterday I shared some brilliant advice for grooms choosing light and wearable summer suits. Now I’d like to offer a little help to all the guys out there who’ll be guests at a wedding this summer. With thanks to Liam from A Suit That Fits for writing and sharing today’s blog article. Enjoy!

Most men struggle to decide on what to wear as a guest at a summer wedding. Now, we’re not implying you outshine the groom, but cutting a dash as part of the congregation is good. Whether it’s a country wedding, a beach wedding or a more formal city wedding you will want to look your best.

Despite the odd hailstone in August, I think we had a pretty good summer this year. I’ve seen some wonderfully sunny weddings and I’m sure there’ll be plenty more to show with you through September and October! For today though, I have been thinking about grooms and suits: because isn’t it a bit hot wearing a shirt, waistcoat, jacket and tie for a summer wedding? There’s a lot to say for creative groomswear: personally I love a groom in jeans, shirt and no jacket… but that’s not for everyone. Most couples love the idea of dressing up in full wedding gear, waistcoats, pocket watches and all… so I asked Hayley from A Suit That Fits for some practical summer groomswear advice.

As a huge lover of music this wedding has instantly leapt into my top ten of all time! Vic and Chris describe their wedding to me as “A mix of loves and eras – mainly focused around our mutual love of music” – which ticks all of my boxes!

Musical wedding London Shakespeare's Globe (1)

They’re an amazing couple with the coolest taste in tunes and as I write this blog post I’m listening to every single song they’ve mentioned – there’ll be links below if you’d like to have a listen as well: as far as musical wedding inspiration goes, this is definitely the best I’ve blogged so far – bar none!

While the images of this fabulous wedding are a treat – by long time supporter of English Wedding Blog, Mark from Sheffield based Tierney Photography – please do read Vic and Chris’s wedding report in full. Their focus, inspiration and love is truly inspiring and I was captivated reading their story.
