Today’s wedding style inspiration is for the girl with nature in her heart. The images speak of romance, delicately pretty wedding styling with creative, artistic touches. I adore the beautiful heirloom engagement ring, and it’s always wonderful to see pretty calligraphy featuring in a wedding style blog.

“A beautiful lace and tulle vintage wedding gown, a rustic pergola, old granite walls, rambling foliage, a smattering of Shakespeare…. The scene was set for our bride to gather flowers in this Secret Garden.

There is great beauty in simplicity and in nature, and that’s what I aimed to capture with this inspirational shoot. I chose to shoot predominantly on film to demonstrate how rich and luminous the skin tones are through this medium. There are also so many stunning vintage dresses out there, from the chic 1950s right up to the ’90s, so I wanted to showcase one of them.”

After you’ve got the engagement ring on your finger, celebrated, set the date, and booked the church or Registry Office, the next service that you need to research is your photographer!

Unlike most other wedding services, major wedding venues and the photographer are the only ones that can only do one wedding PER DAY – So, if you have someone in mind, you need to check that they have your date available and book it in as soon as possible.

In the past, I have felt extremely honoured to have had some of my couples book their wedding date around my availability. If that doesn’t give me warm and fuzzy feelings, I don’t know what else will! I asked one of these brides, who is also now a fledging photographer and a good friend of mine – why? Why would you book your date around me?

Winter weddings can be delicately frosty, with palest pastels and sparkle. Or you can bring warmth to your wedding style with vibrant, rich florals and a bold colour palette. Either way, opting for an alternative twist to the style of your wedding is a winner!!

“The shoot was organised by Ana Gely A – Photography  and features a winter wedding that is far from the ordinary. “For styling inspiration we tapped into the unique features of the venue where we did the shoot. The Great Barn at Headstone Manor & Museum is a two part estate featuring a manor house museum currently under restoration and a beautiful barn which is used for weddings. The place is steep in history and local traditions. It has recently been reopened to the public and we were lucky to be the first to ever do a photo shoot there.

I adore this wedding. Bolton Abbey is amazing – what a superb location for gorgeous, memorable wedding photos, don’t you think?! Today’s gorgeous bride Vicky’s couture dress is stunning; I love Howard’s outfit, they just look perfect together. And the festoon lighting and sparklers… absolutely incredible. LOVE it all!!!

I chose my dress which was from Lyn Ashworth by Sarah Barrett as I loved her lace detail. I didn’t find a specific dress that had all the elements I wanted but the Lyn Ashworth collection gives you the option to pick one element from one dress and add it to another dress which was perfect. I put all my favorite elements together and made a bespoke dress that I absolutely loved and felt amazing in.

Our reception venue was tepees in the grounds of the bride’s parents house. We personally decorated the tepees with bunting and paper lanterns and also added fairy lighting and festoon lighting, disco ball, a rustic gift table, love sign and photograph wall of the hen and stag dos.

As a girl with a freely admitted paper fetish, I do love to see a shoot where deliciously designed stationery takes centre stage. (And because I’m totally skill-less with flower arranging, I adore it when beautifully styled flowers share the limelight!) So today’s bright, springtime wedding style inspiration is just so lovely to share with you. I hope it brightens your heart and your day as much as it does mine!

Jess and John’s day was rainy – it didn’t stop; and it didn’t matter. They chose a magnificent venue in Wentworth Woodhouse, and the images of their day are as stunning as can be. The focus was on friends and family, celebration and love. This is a classic English wedding, a reminder that simplicity and elegance can create a truly beautiful day.

“Something I found was that it’s the little touches that make a wedding completely personal and special to you. We had old photos of us around the venue, a personalised cake topper, I put a basket in the ladies toilet with essentials in and provided flip flops for anyone with tired feet. A lot of these ideas were from Pinterest or I took as inspiration from other peoples weddings.

Laura at Flourish, Sheffield, arranged my wedding flowers. She was amazing, working to my budget which constantly changed! I was so pleased with the flowers on the day. They made such a huge difference to the venue and were great thank you gifts too!

I LOVE this wedding – Amy and Dan had the best homemade table plan I’ve ever seen! I adore the idea of a spot of wild swimming (crazy!) and all the flowers, personal touches with stationery… and Amy’s dress is just wonderful. This is beautiful, country charm at its very best and I hope you fall in love with their day as much as I have!

Gorgeous bride Natalie and her husband Raja were married in the Houses of Parliament in June, their reception was in the gardens of the historic and very romantic Chiswick House. This is a very stylish city wedding that had big wows. Natalie walked down the aisle to the chimes of Big Ben turning 12pm, totally magical. They beat the usual bus tours and had all the guests hop on a boat which went down the River Thames past all the big sights of London then on to the reception.

I tried on several dresses and doubted ever experiencing the feeling of finding the ‘one’. Claire Pettibone‘s Viola was a unique and beautiful design which I hadn’t seen anywhere else before. As soon as I tried it on, I knew it was perfect and though I had other appointments booked, no other dresses compared.

My flowers were provided by Wild about Flowers. My bouquet was made up of burgundy dendrobiums, burgundy peonies and magnolia spray roses. The bridesmaids all had a beautiful simple bouquet of cream peonies and the two flower girls carried flower wands.

2017 brides get to surround themselves with the most lush flowers imaginable – and the trend for exciting, statement flora is growing in momentum. “Flora”? Like, Latin? Yes – because I mean everything that’s gorgeous and green in nature – bouquets and arrangements are so much more than bunches of flowers. Today’s inspiration showcases the most stunning blooms and tendrils of leaf and stem; succulents, ferns, varieties of everything like we’ve never seen before.

This inspiration is more than just flowers of course. It’s full of wedding ideas for the botanicals-loving bride: with stationery attuned to this key theme (by the fabulous Gooseberry Moon) and amazing styling by Nina Marika (whose name is just one of those you’ll find in our fabulous new supplier directory).

Bridal make up by lovely Aimee Chorley and divine hair by Daniel Gray make this one of the prettiest bridal shoots I’ve seen so far  this year, and I really hope you love it too! Images are by the always-fabulous Tiree Dawson, and there’s a full supplier list for you below.

Two of my very best friends were married at this adorable little barn wedding venue in 2016. It was wonderful to see the place again when lovely Siobhan and Andrew’s wedding appeared in my inbox… the fairy lights took me right back to my friends’ wedding. Those of you who’ve been following the blog for a little while will know I live on the edge of the Lake District; the mountains are my second home and so today’s real wedding couldn’t be more perfect for the beginning of the year.

“I did the flowers myself. I went to New Covent Garden market one very early Saturday morning and bought enough silk flowers to make my bouquet and the two bridesmaids bouquets. I have never done anything like that before and I was fairly pleased with the outcome.”

Siobhan is so, so beautiful. Do watch out for her rocking that gorgeous dress on the dancefloor – where the twinkling fairy lights really do come into their own!

Winter weddings can mean frosty, ice blues and silver, or rich tones, warming reds and candlelight… today we’re thrilled to be sharing these gorgeously vibrant wedding style ideas from a wonderfully talented team of Cornish wedding suppliers at The Cow Shed.

Vibrant colours and a darker aesthetic for a winter barn wedding, with Lucy Turnbull Photography at The Cow Shed (10)

The flowers are rich, red, with textures and tons of foliage. Lighting and candles are key. Rustic styling (twigs? we LOVE!) and mosses make this a wedding styled shoot we could just melt our little hearts right into.

And then there’s the location. The fabulously dramatic coastline and those incredible skies. This is the first time we’ve seen an Ian Stuart gown in a clifftop setting and oh, it’s magical.

Huge thanks to Ellie at The Cow Shed for submitting this dreamy shoot to the English Wedding Blog, and to wonderful Lucy Turnbull Photography for her stunningly atmospheric and beautiful images.
