I was thrilled to hear about Luna Bride‘s Ethical UK bridal designer releases new sustainable bridesmaids’ collection – and it looks divine!

Expanding onLuna’s unique organic bridal gowns, the collection of 3 bridesmaids’ outfits has the same ethos of combining natural fabrics with beautiful design.

Sustainable, new and different bridesmaids' outfits by Luna Bride on (5)

Your bridesmaids can choose from a modern jumpsuit, a stylish wrap dress and a slinky bias-cut slip dress. Each design is available in ten colourways and come in two of the world’s most sustainable fibres – linen and Tencel – providing a flattering fit for all shapes and sizes.

The collection is handmade in England and infinitely wearable, long after the wedding day! Designer Keely explained “It has taken a year to work out the perfect ways to create dresses that use high quality production whilst keeping affordability. In a market where many people don’t realise that popular bridesmaid brands continue to use polyester and manufacture in China, this eco-conscious collection is something totally different!

A gorgeous elopement in London, with Jordanna Marston Photography

Hey there lovelies. I really don’t know where to begin today’s blog: we had this one planned a few weeks ago, when we expected weddings of 30 guests to be happening by now and for the future. And then we heard the news that the rules wouldn’t change after all. I am SO heartbroken for all of you who were planning a celebration this weekend, or in the coming weeks. If a gathering of 30 of your friends and close family isn’t safe, how is it possible that crowds in pubs, parks and beaches are being allowed to happen? Lovelies, I am desperately hoping the situation changes for you, and the powers that be will allow small weddings soon… in which case, this article WILL apply!

With love,

The year the wedding world changed - and 5 genius ways to adapt! (10)

I’ve been a fan of small weddings from day one. Before 2020 happened, I was already in love with intimate weddings and elopements. We’ve featured plenty on the blog, and every single one has a special place in my heart. Especially for those of you having to face a mini version of the Big Day you’d planned, here are 5 genius ways to adapt to having a smaller wedding in 2020.

We end the week with a lovely styling inspiration sent in by Sandra from Fabulous Functions UK and Clare of Barefoot Photography. With ombre themed centrepieces and a banquet style table setting, this is traditional styling with an eclectic twist: ombre themed centrepieces and a riot of blooms with copper and gold accents add luxe, and our bride in a Watters gown is just stunning, radiant on her best day ever.

I will leave you in Sandra’s capable hands to introduce the shoot and explain how it all came about. Have a wonderful Sunday everyone, with love,

Couples looking for inspiration for their venue decoration get to see how an empty function room can be transformed into a magical wedding world. The Bear Hotel in Hungerford is a gorgeous wedding venue featuring several event spaces, a terrace and a beautiful secret garden. We show how the hotel can be transformed into a luxury wedding venue for an intimate wedding. The overall transformations was a delight to the senses.

Let’s take things back a notch from all the real weddings we’ve featured this week and turn our gaze to something dreamy instead! This wedding ideas shoot is just glorious: moody and exciting, beautifully styled and wonderfully creative. It’s been sent in by lovely Jen from My Pretties UK, Yorkshire based wedding planning & design expert specialising in stylish, forward thinking design for modern couples. Sooo much awesomeness… and those dresses are out of this WORLD!

Alternative Monochrome wedding inspo at White Syke Fields with Alt Wedding Co (33)

I love a classic monochrome wedding and have done quite a few, with this shoot I wanted to be a bit more daring with it and give it an edge that would appeal to a more alternative couple.

We added in some silver, sparkle and pops of pink to take it up a gear.

Our gorgeous real couple Elizabeth and Ashley are alternative and really cool and unique and we wanted the shoot (as with any real wedding) to be a reflection of them.

I might need to slam the wedding bloggy brakes on after this… we’ve shared too many EPIC weddings this week and it’s just TOO GOOD – I’m so excited to share Nat & Oli’s wedding with you today, I can barely type! So these guys are nature lovers. And they took their guests into the wild for the most incredible ceremony, I love it to bits.

Nat & Oli's wild hilltop wedding with Fox and Bear Photography (34)

Nat and Oli describe their wedding as rustic, local, seasonal – they wanted everything to be as local and as environmentally friendly as possible. It was important to this gorgeous pair to feature Scottish traditions as they had friends coming from different countries and Nat’s family was coming from Costa Rica. Their fabulous images tell the story best of all: they’re by Fox and Bear Photography. You will LOVE this!

I LOVE a good York Place Studios wedding. They’re the best possible reminder that a wedding is about love, connection and stringing together the most amazing, life-changing moments. Style is something that comes naturally: it’s a flow, a feeling, and it comes from your personalities rather than from the fluff you put on wedding tables. Michelle and Stephen’s Town Hall Hotel wedding day is just incredible: they’re a stunning couple with effortless style – and I love every single, precious moment. It’s all captured by our fabulous friends and London wedding photographers York Place Studios.

Thank you! This is bringing tears to my eyes. Wonderful shots

These two are just adorable. It’s been a while since I last published an engagement shoot, but when I saw Abisola and Godfrey I just had to share with you! Engagement shoots are the BEST: especially if you’re wedding’s been postponed, or if you want to support your wedding photographer’s business amidst the madness that is 202o. Engagement shoots are a brilliant way to get comfortable in front of the camera, and to get to know your wedding photographer before the big day as well. I recommend them to everyone – oh, and so does this STUNNING couple! They loved their engagement shoot with Bethany Clarke Photography, and so do I!

With love,

Leeds engagement photography by Bethany Lloyd-Clarke (1)

The shoot was absolutely amazing. I loved that we had a choice of our own location, especially the rooftop. Bethany allowed us to be ourselves and have a fun experience.

We 100% recommend engagement shoots. For us coming from a culture where the wedding is not really for the couple but for the parents and their guests, it was really important to have something that we could make our own.

I’ve been so excited to share today’s lovely wedding with you! Ella looks amazing in her floaty light, boho gown and wears an heirloom veil handed down through generations from her great grandmother’s wedding in 1924. Ludo’s her perfect match – I adore that floral tie! These two wanted their day to be very personal, laid back, and fun, with a botanical, English country garden feel. Their wedding is really personal, with Ella doing the flowers and Ludo’s sister making their gorgeous cake. The home made elements make it really special – and hey, who needs a sit down dessert when you can have a wheelbarrow full of ice-creams?!

With love,

How did you choose your photographer?

The photography for our wedding was very important to me. My parents asked my uncle to photograph their wedding, 30 years ago, and after taking photos all day discovered my uncle forgot to put any film in his camera. So, beautiful photography that I could treasure forever and show my children, one day, was always high on my list. We knew we wanted informal, natural shots that captured the fun and emotion of the day, and the small intimate moments between people, rather than anything too staged. I did lots so searching and finally found Emily, at Emily Black photography, who was perfect!

Millennials are wanting their wedding ceremonies to be unique, customised and fun but equally do not want to veer too far off the traditional format of the day.

So let’s drill down the reasons why celebrant led ceremonies are so attractive to forward thinking couples.

Celebrant led Ceremonies

Wedding celebrants are trained to provide you with a tailor made ceremony designed to celebrate your union in a way which is meaningful and appropriate to you and your choices for your wedding and way of life.

They ideally spend months getting to know you, building a trust and friendship before your day before designing and creating a ceremony which is completely bespoke to you.

This not only means that the script will be packed full to the brim with personal anecdotes, laughter and sentimental touches, but also the ceremony will feel like it is being led by an old friend.
