Here’s how – you’re welcome!

The photo booth basics

1. Make it stand out – your photo booth should be instantly noticeable in a place all your guests will see it. Think bright colours, streamers, glitter, flashing lights, circus appeal!

So I think I’ve just about recovered from the bank holiday weekend.. and I have the sweetest, happiest wedding to share with you today!

Louise & Mark’s Devon wedding is vintage with a touch of boho – and tons of excitement and fun! From the moments before the ceremony I was hooked – and seeing Mark carry her down the aisle after they say their vows is just magical! The celebrations really kick in as guests travel together on a vintage bus to the reception venue. It’s a brilliant way for guests to get to know each other and really gets the party vibe going!

Louise’s vintage inspired knee length dress is just perfect for her – don’t miss the first dance part of the video, which makes this bride absolutely SHINE!

As you’ll see from their highlights film below, it was a magical ceremony too at St James church, Teignmouth.

I can almost smell the flowers… because today we have the loveliest, summeriest wedding of all for you to enjoy. Gorgeous couple Jo and Jack married in Cheltenham on a beautiful early summer’s day. Their barn wedding celebration is just divine: the florals are so vibrant and wonderfully colourful they almost steal the show.

Images are by our lovely and talented friend Hannah K Photography, who is based in Warwickshire and travels around the UK to shoot beautiful weddings in her natural and romantic storytelling style. I hope you love them as much as we do! Have the most wonderful Bank Holiday everyone – I’ll hand over to Hannah to tell you more about this fabulously pretty wedding day.

Jo and Jack were wed in their village church in Cheltenham. It was a perfect, quiet and quaint location where only locals and a few scarce hikers would pass by. Imagine sun trickling in through the trees and birds singing, so, so lovely.

We have been SO excited to share this beautiful May wedding with you. It’s quintessentially English with the most wonderful florals, superb styling and a fabulous venue in North Yorkshire. Bride Lizzie looks incredible in a Maggie Sottero dress with such a pretty and unusual neckline – I absolutely love it. And Rick’s bespoke suit is just superb – he looks amazing and we love his look!

Images are by lovely Lissa Alexandra Photography. Lissa is based in Yorkshire and has the prettiest natural photography style, capturing beautiful moments and memories which tell the story of Lizzie and Rick’s day just perfectly.

The wedding day involved three venues: from the reception at All Saints Church in Helmsley guests walked to the Walled Garden for a drinks reception, and then travelled on a vintage bus to The Star Inn at Harome for their Michelin starred wedding breakfast and evening reception, which was in a beautiful PapaKata Sperry Tent.

A black tie wedding… the most amazing boho dress covered in delicate sparkles… and more fun and laughter and PARTYING than you’d think you could fit into one day. This wedding – as they always are when our friends and sponsors at York Place Studios are involved – is an absolute blast of beautiful and playful, and I LOVE it.

The Normans venue is a charming, rustic space on a working farm just outside York. Covered in twinkling fairy lights, it’s welcoming and picture perfect inside and out. The courtyard is wonderful on a sunny day, and as evening sets guests can relax in the cow shed (snug) or grain shed (ultimate party space!) – take a look at http://thenormansweddings.co.uk

We cannot thank you enough, we have been screeching with laughter, I can only imagine what you guys witnessed that night!

We just love all these photos so much, we couldn’t have asked for anything more. They are the perfect end to an amazing year, and they are exactly how we wanted the wedding captured!

I’ve lost count of the number of friends I’ve told about this wedding – because there was one very special moment during the ceremony which I absolutely love. Dave and Niamh are definitely independent spirits who didn’t follow any boring old wedding traditions just for the sake of it. They had a fun, relaxed day full of laughter – and their beautiful images capture the spirit of their celebrations perfectly.

But the moment I love most of all is one I read about in the blog of their wedding as featured on Forget me Knot Images website. You see, they hadn’t decided if Niamh would take Dave’s surname after the wedding… or perhaps he’d take hers. Instead, and to add a little extra excitement to the ceremony, they tossed a coin to decide, right there in front of all of their guests! I LOVE this! So Dave now has Niamh’s surname and the gorgeous couple are living happily ever after!

And with all the time and effort we’re putting into planning our weddings, we want the day not only to be perfect, but to look perfect in our pictures?

What even is perfect, though?

What does perfect mean, when we’re chatting about weddings?

I like to feel like I know you guys. I know you love indulging in a little wedding pretty on the internet – scrolling through fabulously pretty, beautifully styled wedding editorials and bridal photoshoots on blogs and Pinterest. Hey, so do I! And I imagine you’re reading this post because the last thing you are is Princessy. But maybe you’re still a little unsure about your wedding photographs being less than ‘perfect’. Shall I explain?
