Shepherd Neame Kent wedding photography of the lovely Carly and Paul

A lovely start to the day for the bridal preparations at the recently and beautifully refurbished Marine Hotel in Tankerton, Kent. Then a short drive along the coast in a 1956 Morris Minor for Carly and her dad to the market town of Faversham to the Shepherd Neame visitor centre for the wedding ceremony.shepherd-neame-brewery-wedding-0180shepherd-neame-brewery-wedding-howling-basset

A new venue for me to shoot and it’s a rabbit warren of features and surprises. The evening reception was a vast and interesting space and part of the museum itself. There was even a genuine Spitfire cockpit that of course any self-respecting groom just had to have a try in.

Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope it’s sunny and warm where you are as well… such a beautiful morning here at English Wedding Blog towers 🙂 and I’m feeling happy. So it’s the perfect time to chat about balloons. Wedding balloons are having a bit of a revival – and it’s going to grow and grow, with thanks to the lovely Bonbon balloons. Pretty balloons with garlands, tassels, filled with confetti… just gorgeous!

The possibilities are endless: mix and match colourful balloons outside your venue; create a backdrop to cover a wall, with candy coloured balloons filled with confetti; use balloons with tassels and garlands to hang over a cake table or escort card display.

It’s the first time I’ve blogged a wedding with a pet hedgehog called Derek – who inspired much of the theme for Liz and Paul’s countryside wedding at Surrey’s Coltsford Mill. They had little hedgehog stamps on their stationery, and even adorable little hedgehog cake toppers… who I’m calling Derek and Mrs Derek!

Bride Liz looks amazing in a Lusan Mandongus designer wedding dress, with exquisite lace detailing and the most beautiful back and train – she’s simply stunning isn’t she? Paul is her perfect match, and I’m so proud to feature such a lovely couple on the English Wedding Blog today.

From the romance of Yorkshire to the magic of Florence… I couldn’t resist sharing this enchanting engagement shoot by lovely destination wedding photographer Rik Pennington.

Rik Pennington Photography (1) I’ll never forget the times I spent living in Italy as a student. I visited Florence from my home in Trieste, and loved the hustle and bustle – but photographer Rik, along with gorgeous couple (ridiculously so… aren’t they?) Giorgia and Filippo explored the quieter streets, full of real untouched Italian charm and atmosphere.

There are a few places in this beautiful land of ours which inspire fierce loyalty and pride: Yorkshire is most certainly near the top of that list. The white rose, rolling hillsides and charming towns and people make Yorkshire a perfect place to live, and to love… and today’s bride and groom chose Yorkshire as their wedding theme, location and flavour!

Bren and Nikki married at the fabulous Ox Pasture Hall, and chose lovely Georgina Harrison Photography to capture their day. With bunting, pom poms, a vintage typewriter, jam jars with candles, mini chalk boards with easels for the name cards, a suitcase for collecting cards and their awesome ‘LOVE’ light, this is a wedding full of ideas which I know you’ll love!
