If you’re a regular wedding blog reader you might think group shots are a thing of the past… but they’re as important today as they ever were. Your wedding day will be the one day of your lives when all of your friends and family are together – just for the two of you – and that’s such a special thing for every bride and groom.

Contemporary wedding photography and group shots, with Benjamin Toms (2)

I asked my lovely blog friend (and super fabulous Kent wedding photographer) Benjamin Toms if he had any advice or tips about group shots, and he had some really useful ideas to share.

Morning everyone! I hope you’re having the best weekend 🙂 and to make it even lovelier I have a gorgeous – and I mean incredible – wedding to share with you this shiny Sunday morning. You’re welcome.

I’ve mentioned (many times hehe) that May is my favourite month. That’s for me – it’s summer, it’s birthday month, it’s when flowers come out… but it’s also an amazing time for the English Wedding Blog because of the glorious sunny weddings, fantastic flowers and beautiful submissions I can share with you. Today’s a wonderful example of a May wedding and I know you’ll love it to bits!

I love today’s wedding for it’s classy sense of difference: there’s nothing normal or ordinary about Kate and Steve’s London wedding, and yet it’s as elegant as any wedding, ever, without trying to be quirky… the mark of a couple whose style and grace makes everything just fall into place beautifully.

Kate – today’s timelessly graceful and beautiful bride – and her husband Steve have been together for years and their wedding focused on friends and family. They still forget they’re married… and yet this wedding in its uniqueness will stick in my mind for a long time. I love to see a day which is different.

As a little girl I used to try and make my own dried flower bouquets… so I was delighted to see Paula’s bouquet from today’s wonderfully country wedding: it really is beautifully different. In fact today’s wedding is one of those I love for every little detail which comes together to make a creative, exciting and unique overall style for a magical day.

Sean and Paula chose their wedding venue for its windmill. Paula’s dress was chosen at the very last minute… and wow, it must have been fate because it’s beautiful!
