Dilini and William’s wedding in the Cotswolds is gorgeous: and I love it because it’s wonderfully personal to them as a couple. Dilini’s Sri Lankan background was a big part of the day, and they even had a wedding cake brought over from Sri Lanka especially!

Dilini told me, “The best thing we did was to pick a venue that was willing to make it as personal as possible for us. We loved The Matara Centre as we both felt it fitted with both of our backgrounds and personalities well.”

1. If you haven’t done it on the day, or you’ve forgotten something, it probably wasn’t that important and so don’t spend your day worrying about it. Make sure you benefit from all of your hard work!

~ Katherine & Ben

2. Be philosophical about the details, as much as every detail may have seemed important in the planning, in the grand scheme of the day you will get caught up in the moment and things will inevitably be overlooked. If there are details that really matter to you both, entrust them to someone else, don’t try to do them yourself on the day.

Hey there beautiful! I hope you’re having the most brilliant weekend ever! I thought I’d take this quiet moment to ask you if you’d be so lovely as to follow my brand new Instagram? Over the last year or so I’ve shared quite a bizarre mix of personal, calligraphy and wedding images on my own account, and I’ve been determined to set up a brand new Instagram for the blog. It’s going to be – well, let’s say about a million percent more weddingy, which I hope will suit you down to the ground!

Modern calligraphy workshops – information & online booking

I wonder if any of you lovely ladies and gents might have ‘learn calligraphy’ down as a new year’s resolution? If you do – or if I’ve just inspired you to try it! – then I can help! I’ve been hosting modern calligraphy workshops in Manchester for a year now, and I’d love to invite you to the next one on Friday the 26th of February. This is the kind of writing I teach…

Yay! We all survived the first week back at work… and it’s time for a well-deserved restful weekend 🙂 But first, this week’s wedding photo of the week. A beautiful smile is all it takes to brighten my week, and Emily’s smile for her husband speaks of pure happiness in this pic!
