Words aren’t really enough sometimes… today’s wedding is more beautiful than any dictionary could ever define: a glorious celebration in fabulous style. Bryony and Richard were married at Hassop Hall in the autumn, and their day is breathtaking.

Images are by Sheffield wedding photographer John Mottershaw, who told me this wedding is one he’ll remember for its colours: “Autumn colours in beautiful sunshine combined with the slightly unusual colours of their outfits (Bryony made her own dress) all worked together to make this wedding a visual treat. A good looking, fun couple, Bryony and Richard were great to work with.

Here’s the thing: you’d never use a ‘standard wording’ for any other letter to your friends and family. If you send letters or notecards to anyone, ever, then 1) you’re awesome! and 2) I bet they’re fun to read.

When you send your wedding invitations, don’t google ‘wedding invitation wordings’ (or worse – ‘standard invitation wordings’). In this case, Google is unintentionally evil with the results it throws back.

Contrary to what it tells you, etiquette is over.

You don’t need to follow any centuries-old rules to get your wedding invitations right!

I LOVE these two! Tammy & Andy – you. are. awesome! From the very first photo of your day I found myself smiling right back at my screen… there is no one in the world more beautiful than a blissfully happy bride and groom. Today we have a London wedding in glorious sunshine with the most amazing bouquet and florals in deliciously decadent purples and blues by Floriography Cornwall.

I don’t know if Instagram and Pinterest have made us love flowers more, or if flowers led us to fall in love with Instagram and Pinterest in the first place… but I’m sure you’ll be Pinning today’s loveliness like crazy. I love the idea of hanging flowers in little vases up the walls of your wedding venue… and this super pretty wedding DIY project from Pumpkin & Pye‘s lovely Natasha shows you how!

You might just recognise bride Steph from the cover of the English Wedding Book… you might recognise the calligraphy in this shoot as mine – I was so happy to be a part of this shoot earlier in the year. You’ll most certainly know the divine landscapes are my beloved Lake District… today’s emerald wedding inspiration shoot comes from the shores of Windermere, from one of the Lakes’ loveliest venues: Silverholme.
