Rolling hills, beautiful gardens… fabulous wisteria blooms in spring and a gorgeous arbour for outdoor weddings: Surrey and Kent couples will LOVE Oaks Farm.
This is more than a barn, more than a countryside venue. Oaks Farm has its very own charm, and a lovely choice of locations for your ceremony and reception. The summer house is so pretty; the barn and orangery are perfect for indoor ceremonies, the gardens are beautifully looked after and stunning all year round.
This is a little sneak peek into my other life: when I’m not typing I have an old-fashioned pen in my hand… an ink pot, blots on my face, like in the 19th century. I’m not a monk: I’m a calligrapher. I write wedding place names, address envelopes, calligraphy wedding readings and vows as keepsakes and wedding day gifts, and design bespoke wedding stationery for intimate weddings.
One of my favourite styles for calligraphy suites and wedding stationery this year is pale grey, graceful lettering with a hint of days gone by. I love to write in the style of an old love letter: casual, flowing scripts with elegance and old English charm. See more...
This morning’s lovely blog feature is for the craftily inclined and those of you looking to add a personal touch to your wedding day by incorporating a little DIY. Grab a friend, mum, or your other half and dive in to this morning’s step by step guide to making your own boutonnières.
Huge thanks to lovely Natasha from Pumpkin & Pye for sharing her gorgeous boutonnière design with us – I adore the flowers, which go perfectly with the stunning rose and serenity bouquet project we featured a few weeks back. Natasha used gorgeous silk flowers from Afloral.com. The boutonnière is just the most adorable creation and looks so much fun to make. I hope you love it as much as I do! See more...

The wedding industry is a creative place – full of independent businesses, designers, photographers who inspire me every single day. I love seeing new ideas for wedding styling in the styled shoots we feature here on the English Wedding Blog – but it’s something new for a photographer to reinvent the styled shoot itself… this is such an excellent idea!
Hampshire photographer Jennifer Sinclair and Gemma from Little Star Events were part of a wedding fair at Alton House this spring, and brought creative suppliers and designers together on the day for a styled shoot with some gorgeous bridal (and bridesmaid!) looks for spring. See more...
