Hello, beautiful! In a few short weeks I will be heading into my favourite UK city for a little Christmas shopping… and to teach my last modern calligraphy workshop of the year. 2016 has been amazing, I’ve loved every workshop and I’d love you to join me to make this last one of the year the best workshop ever!

I barely know where to begin – the images from Grace and Reid’s wedding are just fabulous and the details are out of this world. Nerves were put to bed with a first look on the moors – and these are some of my favourite images of the day. (Below you will find 43 of my “favourite images of the day”. When York Place Studios are involved, I have a LOT of favourites, every time!)
Watch out for the superbly different wedding car, the huge trailing bouquet, the fabulous stationery and test tube floral chandelier. Be inspired by the table styling, Grace’s stunning dress, the s’mores station and heathers. This is one amazing wedding – you’re going to love everything. See more...
Happy Tuesday everyone! The last few days have been a whirlwind – our modern calligraphy workshop on Friday was brilliant, and I’ve been tidying up and reconnecting with the blog over the last couple of days. Meeting our lovely students on Friday made me think about all of the wonderful people I’ve met over the last few years, especially those who’ve played a part in making the English Wedding Blog a success. I wanted to take a little time today for some matchmaking, and to say thank you at the same time.
Today’s is a fabulously fun, colourful and creative wedding on a budget – Charlotte and Gareth were married at Fison Barn and wanted to keep their day informal and pretty without breaking the bank! Their ideas are lovely; Charlotte’s DIY tips and her English Wedding Interview are a great read. I love Charlotte’s honesty too: they tried making invitations but in the end, as it can be so time-consuming to do, they bought their invites online and focused on the craft projects they’d really enjoy. And the ones where Gareth spent a few days covered in glue… oops!
Lydia and Mark’s day is one of beautiful, traditional luxury. They celebrated at home and chose a romantic, feminine theme for their day. Lydia is stunning in her haute couture dress by Antonia Pugh-Thomas; the flowers are fabulous and the day is so full of gorgeous, creative touches to be inspired by.
