We are pulling out ALL the stops today to make your Monday as beautiful as a Monday could ever be. Delectable details, divine styling touches and fine art wedding images to fill your hearts and delight your happy eyes!

Now I do adore details. The soft movement of a piece of silk or lace, the gentle flow, like waves, of a torn piece of cotton rag paper – and a stroke of calligraphy. Gently shining jewellery and accessories, the sheer perfection of a delicate bloom or a tendril of foliage escaping from a bouquet: these things make me happy.

Sent in by a team of creative wedding suppliers in the north west of England, today’s blog feature explores fine art styling and dreamy close ups to showcase a vintage inspired wedding look in a modern setting. Images are by lovely Jo Bradbury Photography, and words are by talented lingerie and veil designer Maxine of Bride Sew Beautiful.

Have you ever booked a wedding photographer before? Nope – me neither! So it’s tricky to know if you’re asking all the right questions, and to be sure exactly what you need – especially when it comes to timings. Do you need “all day coverage”? Or are you allowed to just book your photographer for a shorter length of time? The standard is for your photographer to capture a few images as you’re getting ready with your girls and best guys, and for him or her to leave just after the first dance. But things are changing… and especially with documentary style photography it’s kind of fun if your photographer can stay a little longer (because seriously, as a couple you’ll be a little self conscious for the first dance… but by the tenth dance you and your besties will ROCK that dance floor, right?!!)

Lovely Annelie Eddy Photography published a great feature on her blog about how long you should book your wedding photographer for. Here’s a version of that post but do, please check out the original too!

English-Wedding.com is the ONLY UK wedding blog to have a truly regional focus. The blog is bursting with fabulous real weddings to inspire your own day – probably, if you search the blog, from the very same venue where you’ll be having your wedding! So we wanted to take that local focus a little further today, and with help from Buckinghamshire wedding photographer Damion Mower, we’ve rounded up 8 fabulous REAL home counties weddings from some of the best wedding venues in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Surrey to share with you!

Whether you’re looking for a beautiful barn wedding in Berkshire or a fabulous Hertfordshire stately home, a quirky venue with classic touches or an outdoor ceremony – wedding venues in the home counties have it ALL. Some are on country estates away from the hustle and bustle, while others are closer to major towns and cities – and each has a character all of its own.

I have to admit, I’m more familiar with the Upside Down than the world of Downton (hey, Stranger Things fans!) but in a wedding context it’s easy to fall head over heels in love with the whole period aesthetic. Today’s shoot is a Downton Abbey inspired masterpiece, and Mount Ephraim is a dream venue: sweeping staircase, black and white floors, period details in full effect – the works! There’s something ever so real about this wedding style feature, as the day runs from beginning to end with the grooms’ preparations, ceremony, portraits, reception and even fireworks! I really love how authentic it all feels – and it’s down to a fantastic team of stylists alongside the awesome Matilda Delves Photography, who captured the day on camera. I hope you love it as much as I do!

The inspiration behind this shoot is showcasing two grooms in a classical and elegant way with a modern twist with a Downton Abbey influence. Real-life couple Maximilian and Elie really bring the romantic feel to life. The chemistry between the two grooms was effortless and heartfelt which was captured in the photos.

When you get married, there are certain things that are going to be there on your big day… A ceremony, a meal, photographs, invitations, but that doesn’t mean it has to be the same as everyone else’s, right?

Some people like to stick to tradition and that’s great! But why not break the mould, venture off the beaten track, go your own way and put a unique twist on some of the biggest wedding must-haves?

With that in mind, here’s seven things that every wedding has, and how to make yours more modern and more unique.

1. Vows – make them your own

It’s not just about the after party. Before you can celebrate, you first have to tie the knot itself.

Nowadays the only parts of a wedding ceremony that you can’t change are those that are legally binding. When you walk down the aisle there are certain things that just have to stay the same, because if you or the officiant deviates from the script, then the ceremony wouldn’t be legal.

Welcome to the weekend! I got you some flowers… in the form of Hannah & Ben’s gorgeous and hydrangea-filled summer wedding. Their beautiful images are by English Wedding member Becky Harley Photography. Becky is a Hertfordshire wedding photographer specialising in timeless, relaxed and heartfelt photography. Her review from Hannah & Ben is FABULOUS to read!

Hannah described their wedding theme to me in a nutshell: “FLOWERS, FLOWERS, FLOWERS with a touch of gold. I wanted the decor to fit in with the barn but wanted it to have the WOW factor.” And oh, boy, it DID!!!

A guest post by our friends at Truly Experiences

“Actually, the best gift you could have given her was a lifetime of adventures.”

– Lewis Carroll

After you’ve tied the knot, it’s tradition that you’re whisked away by your new spouse on an extensive and magical getaway. But these trips have become increasingly expensive over the years, especially during the popular wedding months when prices surge. Going on a honeymoon isn’t as appealing to younger generations, or just isn’t financially viable.

Enter the minimoon! The minimoon has become increasingly popular because of the brevity and low prices. These 3 to 4-day trips are a chance to escape on a beautiful adventure and celebrate your marriage without breaking the bank. Need some inspo for your romantic minimoon? I’ve got you covered!
