There’s no better way of celebrating your newlywed status than by losing yourself in music, surrounded by the smiling faces of friends and family on the dance floor. So how do you encourage your guests to join you on the dance floor for a wild wedding reception filled with fun and dancing? Hiring a pop and rock function band, that’s how!

Pop and rock bands are versatile acts who often perform an eclectic range of songs, spanning genres and time periods, making them ideal for the mixed crowd found at most wedding receptions. Arriving at your venue with all the skills and equipment to give you a stunning live concert experience on your big day, a pop and rock band is a sure-fire way of whipping up the atmosphere into the early hours.

Will you be making your own wedding invitations, or buying them? Handcrafted can be a great cost-saving option if you can invest time into designing something beautiful! Making wedding stationery is also a lot of fun if you’re a crafty person, and learning how to write beautiful modern calligraphy is a skill you’ll keep and use for life!

I’m holding six modern calligraphy workshops in 2018 in Manchester’s uber cool Northern Quarter. There are still places available for five of the dates from April onwards and I’d love to invite you along. They’re on Friday and Saturday afternoons, starting at one o’clock and finishing around half past three. The price is £65 and every attendee gets to keep their calligraphy ‘kit’ to take home and play with.

Beautiful bride Hana married Alex at Gate Street Barn on the scorching bank holiday last August. Despite the drama of a street fair trying to stop the bride’s car getting to the church (something that could only happen in the Surrey countryside!) the day was filled with so many laughs and so much love. With a gorgeous summer evening sunset, and the bride and groom recreating the iconic Dirty Dancing routine as their first dance, it is safe to day that they had the time of their lives!
