You’ll fall off your bicycle* when you see today’s real wedding… it’s just incredibly beautiful and fun and unique and individual and all of those things I LOVE about modern English weddings. [and breathe!] There are so many fabulous images of – well – so many amazing things to show you! A vintage wedding dress, a groom with real vintage style, a fabulous venue, weeks worth of wedding DIY projects and so much more.
Hello lovely! How’s your day going? It’s busy as anything here and I have so many lovely weddings to share with you – but I just had to take a little break and introduce you to my latest amazing sponsor. Sophie Duckworth is a Surrey wedding photographer – she’s featured on the English Wedding Blog before and I can’t wait to share lots more of her weddings with you all!
See Huw and Sam’s homespun English country wedding for tons of ideas and a gorgeous peek at Sophie’s photography. Or discover the time I nearly broke my own blog with so many glorious details from Becky and Greg’s pretty, quirky English wedding.
I shared a comment from today’s bride Sam on facebook a couple of weeks ago – I absolutely couldn’t resist: I love a good love story, don’t you?! Back in 2006 Sam was travelling with a friend in New Zealand, and happened to meet Huw there. When her friend returned home, Sam told me “I decided to stay and spent three of the most amazing months of my life travelling around New Zealand with a man I had just met – I think my friends and family thought I was slightly crazy!” Luckily Huw was from England and lived only half an hour away from Sam… and they stayed together and were married a few years later.
Oh dear!!! There are so many gorgeous things to show you in today’s real English wedding I think I might break my own blog. Oops! But Becky and Greg had the loveliest day with such wonderful personal touches I just have to show you everything! From the polka dot table plan to the quirky ice cream seller, the chalkboard sign, Becky’s own designer wedding cake, the union jack details and luscious hydrangeas everywhere… I can almost smell the summer breeze!
It’s been an amazing, exciting rollercoaster of a year here at English Wedding Blog towers, and I’ve been spending a little time looking back at some of my highlights – and yours! As I prepare to switch off my laptop and dive into the mulled wine I’m going to leave you with no fewer than 100 – one whole hundred – of my favourite real weddings from the last 12 months. They should give you plenty to read whenever you need an escape from the festivities over the next couple of weeks!
