The last wedding I went to was going to be an outdoor wedding in the Lake District in August. It was such a shame for the bride and groom that it poured down that day… but if the sun had shone it would have been so beautiful. It still was, of course! But it was beautiful inside. In contrast, today’s English outdoor wedding on the blog is one of those days where the dream of a sunny wedding ceremony really did come true. Beautiful Hannah and Ben were blessed with gorgeous weather and their wedding day was magical.

Hi there my lovely, how are you this morning? I thought it was about time I showed you something new from the gorgeous and fabulously talented bridal designer Charlotte Balbier. Charlotte has launched her latest collection, A Decade Of Style, to celebrate 10 years of the Balbier brand – and she remains one of my all time favourite wedding dress designers.

Charlotte is so passionate about her designs: “Each gown has an identity, a distinct look and feel and its own story behind the magic. The collection captures a bride’s imagination, Charlotte’s main passion when designing each fashion forward piece with the bride in mind. Each bride embarks on a journey and consumed by love, they all have their own consuming love story to tell.

Morning everyone! I’m going to share a bit of my personal work today – because the projects I’ve been working on are pretty versatile and I think they’ll work beautifully for weddings as well as for *cough* Christmas. I know! It’s early – but I’m feeling festive. There’s even a freebie for you at the end of this page! I’ve already started Christmas shopping, haven’t you? I’m ready to wrap a few prezzies already!

I’ve been working with the lovely Kirstie Allsopp writing tags and labels for all sorts of things – we’ve labelled jars of chutney, apple juice, and gift tags over the last few weeks. I’ve added some of the designs I did for Kirstie to my Etsy shop, and there’ll be more coming soon. If you’re looking for tags for special presents then have a look! I hope you like them.

Hello again! I’m happy to be bringing you a little sprinkle of summer again this morning. Sophie and Jonathan had a lovely English country garden inspired wedding and were blessed with glorious sunshine. Today’s blog is full of the prettiest details in delicious pastels – and of course, a beautiful bride, handsome groom and some romantic moments to capture your heart.

The images today come from Ross Alexander at Moment Photography. Sophie’s wedding report includes an amazing review for Ross along with details of other top wedding suppliers (check out the florist too! – wow!). The wedding reception was at The Castle Hotel in Taunton, Somerset.

So let’s have a look at all those beautiful photos and then read Sophie’s wedding report (at the end of the blog feature today). I should say a huge thank you to Sophie and Jonathan – and congratulations to you both! I’m so pleased to be sharing your wedding on the English Wedding Blog today (you’re making it look soooo pretty!). Thanks also to Ross aka Moment Photography for submitting this wedding 🙂 Claire xxx

Hiya! How is your day going? I’m busily typing blog features for coming weeks, and trying to ignore the left hand side of my head, which has earache. The rest of my head is still working hard, and is pondering wedding fireworks. It’s bonfire night, after all! (If you’re off to a display of any kind tonight, stay safe and stay dry!)

I’ve written in the past with some advice about wedding fireworks, with a lot of help from Flashpoint Fireworks. But nowadays and as a cat owner I have a bit of a thing about fireworks – organised displays twice a year (on bonfire night and New Year’s Eve) are fine by me. But I really don’t like any more than that, especially in built up areas.

Wedding fireworks are a bit different, and I’m not sure what I think about them so I was wondering if you had an opinion about them, one way or the other?

Hello my lovelies! I have a treat for you this morning from a gorgeous and creative couple – Jessica and Mike. Their wedding at Thornton Manor in Cheshire is full of little luxuries and special touches. As Jessica herself told me, “the devil’s in the detail” – a nice motto for a wedding, don’t you think?!

Jessica and Mike chose their wedding suppliers carefully and with such a professional team in place they really couldn’t go wrong. A top class venue – Thornton Manor – set the scene. Their photographer is the lovely and talented Martin Hambleton. Flowers, music, scented candles and more combined to make this a truly memorable and special wedding day.

Hey everyone, big hugs all around on this chilly November morning. What are you up to today? Could it be time to book your wedding photographer, maybe? If you haven’t booked anyone yet then I can highly recommend my latest blog sponsor, lovely London wedding photographer Rik Pennington.

Derbyshire wedding photography Rik Pennington photographer (31)

Rik was behind the camera at Henry and Carina’s stunning garden wedding featured here on Monday morning. I adored their wedding – the elegance of their day was second to none, and the photography captures the spirit of everything so beautifully.

You’ll also love Rik’s real wedding feature on the French Wedding Style blog – he photographed Kelly and Sam’s wedding in a 14th century chateau and the images are stunning.

Rik told me, “I’m a London wedding photographer with a distinctive and creative style. My style of wedding photography is best described as creative documentary with contemporary couple portraits. Strong composition and an obsession for finding the light are key to my work.”

Hello lovelies, how are you today? It’s nice to be heading towards the weekend – after such a blustery week I’m ready for a cosy Saturday by the fire I think! Today I have something very different to share with you, which you may have already seen in Brides Magazine. It’s the nation’s favourite wedding dress, designed by the incredibly talented Stephanie Allin. Have you seen it? What do you think?

nations favourite wedding dress

The nation’s favourite wedding dress, by Stephanie Allin

The story behind the nation’s favourite wedding dress

Stephanie Allin was asked to create the nation’s favourite wedding dress. Brides Magazine asked readers to vote and tell them what their dream dress was like, the style, cut, fabric and everything from head to toe. Close to 3,000 votes were cast on www.bridesmagazine.co.uk, with readers choosing details including favourite dress shape and length, sleeve length, fabric and embellishment, to find the ingredients for the UK’s most collectively coveted wedding gown. A sweetheart neckline proved most popular with Brides readers whilst lace was the most desirable of fabrics. Beading was the favoured embellishment and an overwhelming majority of voters picked full-length for their wedding dress of choice. A fit and flare shape, cap sleeves, button detailing and a waisted bodice were the final elements chosen to finish off this unique dress.

Morning everyone! A little advice for you this morning, especially if you’re a little bit addicted to Facebook or Pinterest… it can’t just be me, can it?! How will you feel on your wedding day without your smart phone? Or should you bring it, along with your iPad, because you’ll need it on the day? All the answers are here – enjoy. I hope it’s useful! Claire xxx

For the tech-savvy couples of today there are hundreds of digital tools to track, share and tag just about every element of your special day. Whatever you want your wedding day to be, when it comes to technology etiquette for the big day, there are some dos and don’ts to follow to capture the memorable moments and avoid any digital faux pas.

Morning lovely people! Wherever you are in the country this morning, please stay safe and warm. I’m thinking of all of you who in the south – we’ve escaped the gales up here in the Lakes but I know from my friends around London and Exeter it’s pretty scary down there. Anyway – I couldn’t resist sharing a few sneak peeks of Carina and Henry’s Derbyshire wedding a little while ago, and I’m over the moon to be able to begin this week on a high with such an amazing celebration. You’re going to adore this!

The images are by my lovely new sponsor Rik Pennington Photography (more about him later!) and they are just wonderful. I really think they capture the atmosphere of today’s wedding and I’d love to hear from you today too – leave a comment for the gorgeous bride and groom, or for Rik or just say hi! The comments box at the end of the post is there especially for you and I love hearing from my wonderful readers.
