Last Sunday evening was pretty special here at the English Wedding Blog – I asked for help to build up my lists of weddings by UK county and region, and the response from wedding photographers was fantastic. Today’s real wedding on the blog is all the way from North Wales – Hayley and Mark had their reception at Northop Hall, and their wedding photographer Darren Williams has kindly allowed me to share their day with you all.

North Wales wedding blog by Darren Williams Photography (10)This is a beautiful wedding which I hope will inspire you. Hayley and Mark used soft yellows as an accent colour for their day, and carried the yellow theme through from the bridal bouquet and buttonholes to their orders of service and on-the-day stationery. I think yellow is a wonderful colour for a September wedding, don’t you? Enjoy!

Did you see Sally and Richard’s stunning English countryside wedding on the blog back in November? I LOVED it. They married at Hassop Hall and their wedding photographer was the lovely Shaun Taylor.

Shaun is a Derbyshire wedding photographer whose weddings I’ve featured more than once on the English Wedding Blog. Derbyshire brides and grooms should also look at Paul and Abi’s rustic homemade wedding at Donington Park Farmhouse Hotel, and Melissa and James’s quirky Derbyshire wedding right here on the blog.

Anyone looking forward to a sunny, bright, warm summer wedding? This is how magical it can be… William and Samantha were lucky enough to get a gorgeous sunny July day for their wedding, and the photos make it look so magical. Their Northamptonshire country wedding was in “a quaint oldy worldy Northamptonshire village” with a marquee reception in Samantha’s parents’ country garden. Images are by the very lovely Chantal Lachance-Gibson Photography. Enjoy!

Were you pleased with your wedding photographer?

My parents met the lovely Chantal on a visit to Scotland! They were so impressed with her helpful manner that they asked if she would travel to Northamptonshire 5 1/2 hours away. Every phone conversation and email I had with her leading up to the wedding was a delight! She was so helpful especially starting a Pinterest board so we could get to know each other’s styles! On the day Chantal and her husband Scott were amazing and calm, they let us have enough time to do all that you have to without causing time away from our guests. I was even taken aback when Scott made it his duty to ensure I had a glass of champagne in my hand when everyone was trying to grab me for a chat.

Yay, it’s wedding film time! You’ll love this – Daisy and Dari’s wedding is gorgeous with lovely yellow accents and a bit of a daisy theme… genius! Watching Daisy and Dari say their vows brought a little tear to my eye this morning. You have to see this – and you’ll be imagining yourself in Daisy’s shoes by the end of the film! Best bits for me – Daisy’s beautiful sparkly headband, the bridesmaids in yellow, a trip past Lovers Lane on the way from church to reception, and the soft yellow daisy cake 🙂 There’s more about the wedding after the film by Steve Sale, Newlywed Films. Enjoy!

It was Julie, Daisy’s Mum, who first got in touch with us at Newlywed Films from a recommendation from the superb photographer Luke Woodford (http://www.lukewoodford.com) who we had worked with before. It sounded amazing and both Luke and I were on board in no time.

This article is especially for all of you lovely newly engaged brides-to-be! Congratulations and welcome to Weddingland 🙂 It’s a magical whirlwind of a wonderful place to inhabit, but it can also be freaky-scary, expensive and overwhelming. So let’s ease ourselves in to proceedings with the help of a very wonderful friend of mine. I asked Bernadette if I could reblog an article she wrote for her own wedding planning blog, because I find her advice reassuring, positive and encouraging – I hope you will too! Over to Bernadette…

Intricate beaded bodies, elongated lines and pleats adorn the collection of stunning gowns that when turned around reveal scoop detail backs and razor sharp features – simply beautiful.

“If you’re a cool girl and your am to pm wardrobe is simple, pared down and effortless, what do you then wear to get married in?” say the design team behind new bridal brand Maria Senvo.

Hello there, and welcome to the only pre-wedding weight loss programme which doesn’t make me furious! I’ll be brutally honest: there are some scary diets whose inventors seem to deliberately target brides, and it makes me angry. Nobody should feel pressured to lose weight for their wedding. If you do want to lose weight it’s fine, but please – be healthy in your approach and how you lose that weight. I’m talking about your mindset as well as your physique – and in almost 10 years in the wedding industry I’ve finally discovered an expert who approaches wedding weight loss the right way.

Lose weight without sacrificing your health: Countdown to the Gown

I’ve had a lovely email chat with personal trainer and author Tim Mugabi of Into That Dress. Tim’s philosophy is focused on your wellbeing, which means maintaining a healthy lifestyle and providing you with emotional support as you lose weight in a healthy way. Tim’s the first personal trainer I’ve ever seen acknowledge the other stress and pressures of wedding planning – and that tells me a lot: this guy really does care. I’ll hand over to Tim to tell you more…
