Hey lovelies! How are you all this beautiful Thursday morning? I’m already planning the blog for August – it’s a crazy busy summer of weddings which is wonderful 🙂 If there are any photographers out there who’d love to see their favourite summer weddings on the blog, do get in touch! I also have a handful of sponsor slots available from today, which I’m offering a lovely saving on – so pop me an email over if you’d like to know more (email@example.com) But most importantly – Amy and Mark. These two are just gorgeous, and their day is full of individuality and character – it’s just perfect. Images are by lovely English Wedding sponsor and Hertfordshire wedding photographer Becky Harley – and they’re outstanding. Becky gets a glowing review from our happy couple, who have shared all the details of their day with us here. I hope you love this one as much as I do!
Good morning beautiful! I hope you’re having the loveliest day – and enjoying a little sunshine still! Aren’t we lucky… it’s already been such an amazing summer and we’re still in the first week of July! And of course, this means we’re blogging beautiful weddings full of sunshine for you. Beautiful bride Sarah and her gorgeous groom Iain were married at Mitton Hall in the Ribble Valley. Their day is elegant and contemporary, with stunning blooms and delicious details. What do you think of the sweet pink chair sashes instead of covers? The chairs themselves are refreshingly pretty, I think 🙂 Images are by our lovely friend and English Wedding Directory member Rachel Joyce Photography.
It’s never really occurred to me to talk about same sex weddings on the blog any more than I would announce ‘Helen and John’s beautiful straight wedding in Devon’ as a title. A wedding is a wedding, with two people in love… and that aside, no two are the same, and they’re all beautiful and captivating for their own individual reasons. I find it genuinely odd that within the wedding industry there are people who expect ‘gay weddings’ to be different. I would love to see this change across the board, and particularly so for those couples who might not fit the too-often-expected ‘boy meets girl’ stereotype, and who have to experience suppliers’ well-meant but sometimes cringeworthy comments about what a same sex wedding ‘should’ be.
So how was your weekend? We survived a brilliant sten do at a mini festival close to home – it was absolutely fantastic, but oops… I’m a little more ‘bronzed’ than I’d like to be right now!! I’m currently enjoying a lovely breeze in my little studio office as I bring you today’s beautiful inspo feature. This is the work of a fabulously creative bunch of Essex wedding suppliers, and promises to bring a touch of cool to your screens, wherever you may be on this super hot day! I just love the ultra modern wedding cake and eye-catching stationery pieces – it’s all just gorgeous. Lovely Jenna from Wonderland Invites, who styled the shoot, is here to tell you more.
A challenge for you: picture a dance floor heaving with guests ranging in age from bouncing toddlers to groovy grannies. What music is playing? Which artists immediately spring to mind? We’re betting you’ve pictured at least one legendary soul and Motown artist, someone like Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Smokey Robinson, Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye, Lionel Richie, Otis Redding, Gladys Knight – the list is seemingly endless. There’s nothing quite like this enduringly popular style of music to encourage guests of all ages onto the dance floor at a wedding reception.
