Are you fed up of being indoors and do you feel cheated that your wedding has been postponed and your honeymoon cancelled? Who could have predicted that something we can’t even see would ruin the plans of so many. Well, here’s an idea for when you feel safe enough to have a night or two away from home… Why not plan something really cool and elope? On the Isle of Skye, wedding photographer Penny Hardie sees all kinds of tiny weddings – they don’t even have to be legally binding, in fact many aren’t.

For those of you settling back into a more tranquil home as kiddies head back to school today… welcome. Please come and join us in this relaxed and pretty little space of the internet, where flowers and beautiful things distract us from the bustle of our daily routines. Today we have a gorgeous, mini summer vintage styled shoot from Lauren Beth, a photographer based in East Sussex. Lauren recently arranged a mini summer vintage styled shoot with a small group of suppliers – as this took place in the midst of lockdown, where photographing couples/ models was not possible, Lauren took the opportunity to focus on the details that go into making a wedding day special!
When I spotted this wedding in our calendar for today I wanted to cartwheel down the street. It makes me SO happy! I absolutely love the joy and colour in today’s wedding – and beautiful Amo and Shayan are the absolute best! These two lovelies tied the knot at Elmore Court last summer, and chose the venue for its flexibility: to have a classic English wedding with big white dress and black tie, with a formal day reception… then transform the whole event into a vibrant and colourful Indian wedding reception complete with drummers and a fabulous party atmosphere. And boy, did they nail it or what?! Images are by Cotswolds Wedding Photographer Dan Morris, and I’ll leave you with lovely Amo and Shayan to tell you about their day!
So Covid threw us all the biggest curveball, and we’re left wondering how we get married now. Planning a wedding suddenly became something of an uncertainty: thousands of 2020 couples have postponed weddings until 2021, and no one knows for sure when social distancing won’t be a thing any more.
Rather than telling you how you ‘should’ plan your 2021 wedding – because who even knows? I think flexibility and an open mind are the safest steps forwards right now – I wanted to share some of the best things about the rather fabulous celebrations we’re now calling micro weddings.
