Are you a timeless bride? Do you dream of a classic, full length wedding dress with a beautiful silhouette and the most incredible fabrics? Does it mean a lot to you to buy from a British designer rather than wearing an imported dress? Then today, the English Wedding Blog is just for you.

Hey beautiful! I have a little weekend treat for you this Saturday morning… thanks to lovely Stabby from Heartistic Productions. The carousel at Preston Court is the most amazing backdrop and I adore the scenes towards the end of this wedding film with the smoke and our gorgeous bride and groom totally wrapped up in one another as the carousel spins behind them… Lauren and Jon are more than gorgeous and their outdoor wedding is beautiful, followed by a reception in the Kent barn with pretty tissue decorations hanging from the rafters and twinkly lights everywhere.

Stabby and Jason are a husband and wife team who have been making wedding films since 2013, they’re based in South Africa and are looking to relocate to the UK. Find out more about them here:

Happy Friday! Woohoo… it’s been an amazing week here at English Wedding Towers… I’m almost ready to paint the new studio and getting used to my new computer – which doesn’t have the egg-frying functionality of the last one, but it is shiny. As it’s Friday I thought we’d bring the week to a super happy close and put a huge smile on our pretty faces with a gorgeous wedding film. Ceri and Mickey were married at Herons Farm, and their barn wedding brings together all the loveliest vintage and rustic styling elements you can imagine: fairy lights and bunting, signage and wonderful flowers… oh and a gorgeous couple whose happiness lights up the whole place.

The film itself is fabulous, and I do recommend you check out the fab team at Kotech Films:

Kotech Films are a young, dynamic team of creatives based near Reigate whose passion for film has taken them from extreme sports events through concerts and live events and into weddings… and they’re awesome.

Today’s images show just how exciting 2016 weddings will be. This week my inbox has been FULL of new collections of everything from dresses to stationery to cakes and every designer has incredible new ranges for 2016 brides and grooms. Which brings me to Indiebride. This collection was made for me… and oh, that black dress.

Indiebride is the brand new sister company to Minna. (See Minna’s vintage inspired boho dresses on the English Wedding Blog from earlier this year.) The Indiebride collection is for brides who want a dress which compliments their own style, which makes them look amazing without looking too much “like a bride” (this will be me!) and who  want to wear the dress beyond their big day.

The Indiebride range is a gorgeous selection of bridal dressestops and skirts, all retailing between £190 and £650. Made from the same high quality fabrics and manufactured in London, this range is designed so that brides can confidently buy the range online without complicated fittings.

This is how to get noticed by a wedding blogger. In fact… I will be amazed if every wedding blogger in the world doesn’t want a little piece of this shoot… because it’s divine. And different. And creative. And has more wow factor than any other bridal collection shoot I’ve seen – ever.

The child inside me wants to play in the amazing glass chapel. The calligrapher side of me wants to write something beautiful on every inch of gorgeous stained glass. And the girl in my heart wants to dance summer days away in the incredibly pretty and romantic boho inspired wedding dresses by BHLDN.

It’s about time for a beautiful real English wedding, don’t you think? Today’s is one of the loveliest weddings of the summer and comes from a brand new London venue (for me, at least!) Hackney Brewery. Now… being a northern girl I do love a craft beer or two – and so this is a bit of a dream wedding for me! Today’s gorgeous bride Ananda described her summer wedding to Darren as a “beautiful & raucous DIY brewery knees up” which sounds as perfect as it looked!

Ananda told me, “We spent a lot of time making decorations and all the details of how we had decorated the venue were really personal… Claire [photographer Claire Gill] captured these beautifully, giving us not only a memory of the day but also the all the memories of the days we spent with our loved ones helping us create the perfect day.”

Hey lovely! It’s day 2 of my wedding stationery review features, and I wanted to show you what came in the post a couple of weeks ago. We were ridiculously busy prepping for The Handmade Fair, so it’s only now I can reveal – and review – this little sneak peek at some gorgeous new wedding invitations by Knots & Kisses.

Opening Nikki’s package was such a treat – and it’s this attention to detail which makes Knots & Kisses one of the best wedding stationery brands in the UK right now. Instagrammers should take a look at Nikki’s pics, and join me in being insanely jealous of her beautiful workspace!

Being an eco-friendly girl with a mild fetish for kraft stationery and a passion for nature and the outdoors, I immediately fell for the natural, woodland-inspired and elegant invitation from Knots & Kisses’ 2016 collections. Stags and antlers are going to be huge again in 2016, and this range is perfectly on trend with its quirky font, lace trim and memorable motif. LOVE!

Rachel and Alex chose a select few exceptional suppliers to make their Cotswolds wedding day an incredible success. Their focus on fabulous food and cocktails is brilliant, and the styling of the day has blown me away.

The flowers tie in beautifully with this statement theme ‘The Hunt is Over‘ – which I love. Every detail is considered – and this is the work of some of the very, very best wedding suppliers (with not a homemade detail in sight). I adore today’s real wedding.

My third little box of paper goodies this month came from the lovely team at Manchester’s rather fabulous Norma & Dorothy, an independent wedding stationery design business which has been delighting brides and grooms for just one year… but looks set to take the world by storm.

Stationery by the fabulous WBD Designer Wedding Stationery (and envelope calligraphy by me!)

I do like breaking the rules, so I’ll never dictate that invitations should be sent X weeks before your wedding; or that you’ll need Save the Dates… but I do find that most couples start shopping for invitations around January time – and many of you are sending Save the Dates before Christmas! So this week’s wedding stationery reviews are designed to help those of you who are about to embark on the lovely journey of invitation shopping… one of my favourite aspects of weddings!

Modern calligraphy workshops – information & online booking

It’s very last minute I know, but I have two spaces left this Saturday at my calligraphy workshop – so if you’d like to come along please send me a quick email to I’ll be spending today writing pretty quotes and signs for the workshop (some of which you’ll be able to take home with you) before I pack my suitcase once again for the weekend. It’s going to be brilliant – I can’t wait!

The last calligraphy workshop of 2015 – book now!

I’ve also booked my last workshop for the year, which will be on the 4th of December. We’re going to be writing tags and labels there, as well as little festive quotes. I want to style the class as a winter wedding, as much as we can in our little classroom, so I’ve been playing with a winter weddings Pinterest board this morning. It’s so exciting! And you’re all invited.

I’ve been sharing my calligraphy with photographers all across the UK this year, and had the pleasure of working on a handful of styled shoots myself as well. It’s a part of my work I really love – and seeing the images from every shoot is such a treat!

I owe a huge thank you to Ayshea Goldberg for including my calligraphy in several shoots this year. I met Ayshea at Aspire Photography Training in May 2014, and she was one of the fab photographers who sent images back from Venice for me to publish on the blog this summer.

Ayshea’s own styled shoot took place at Kersey Mill in late summer. The pinks and pastels created a relaxed summer vibe, with a rustic tiered cake and pretty table styling perfect for an intimate wedding.

The calligraphy details were super casual (a bit of an experiment for me, and one I LOVED playing with for Ayshea!) – with an invitation and handwritten envelope, place settings, table name cards and a quote in brush lettering in shades of pink. You can buy all of these details in my Etsy shop at
