Emily and Daniel are one of the loveliest couples I’ve had the pleasure of featuring… and their wedding is filled with pretty touches and creative details. They married at Upton Barn in July and chose lovely Mark from Evolve Photography to photograph their day.

I have so much to tell you I barely know where to begin… the interview which follows the photos today is superb, and this quote from Emily is spot on: “If at the end of the day you are married to your best friend then it has been a success, everything else is just details.

The details, however, look to have been a total success and then some! I adore the place settings and little favours (too cute!) and the lavender touches are just divine. Suppliers were found through recommendations and online, and Emily and Daniel found their venue through a local wedding show.

Claire and Paul are the loveliest couple – I think every wedding photo shows at least one of them with an amazing happy smile – and theirs is the sort of wedding I just love to bits.

Painshill Park Surrey wedding with Sophie Duckworth Photography (39)

They describe their Surrey wedding as ‘less fuss, more fun’ and their motto clearly worked like a charm! They celebrated in style at Painshill Park and hired lovely Sophie Duckworth as their wedding photographer.

Suppliers were found through recommendations – photographer Sophie gave some great tips for top suppliers, and Painshill Park came up with ideas as well. Everything looks fantastic and it’s wonderful to read such a great review for Sophie and see Paul and Claire’s recommendations for some other local wedding suppliers. Don’t skip the interview at the end of today’s blog post for all of the above and more!

How many of us had dreams as little girls of being a) beautiful princess brides and b) ballerinas? Ahhh… I sense you smiling just a little there… even I wanted to be in Swan Lake when I was young enough to look cute in ballet shoes!

Some things don’t change: brides will always look amazing; ballerinas will always have a timeless grace which can take a girl’s breath away. Combining the two is genius… and Sabina Motasem‘s latest collection of wedding dresses does just that. Beautifully.

Sometimes I spend hours gazing at delicious-looking photos of food. It’s a worthwhile pastime… because food comes in the top 5 wedding priorities for most couples. Your guests will remember the food and music from your wedding day above almost everything else – so make the most of your menu sampling sessions, everyone!

Today I have some brilliant advice from wedding catering expert Emma at Goose & Berry. Emma’s been investigating your favourite wedding foods and shares her top tips for wedding menus for the coming year.

Today’s wedding blog is all about the romance – with wonderfully decadent and pretty peony bouquets in the fabulous setting of Froyle Park.

Wedding blog from Froyle Park with Graham Nixon Photography (12)

The styling elements come together beautifully to create a soft, romantic French theme: with soft pastel colours and a pink pop from peonies in the florals. The dress is divine; hair and make up is soft and romantic. There are DIY elements – the table plan was made from charity shop frames and looks fab! And I adore the stationery by Hip Hip Hooray. The shoot was curated by Lyn from Lily Marie wedding and event planning, and she has written a little about her inspiration for the day.

My first experience of Froyle Park was driving past one evening; and glancing up the stunning, beautifully lit lavender and tree lined driveway, which reminded me of places I had visited holidaying in France; such a romantic setting.

So I jumped at the chance of organising a shoot here when approached by make-up Artist Natasha Wiggins and photographer Graham Nixon.

Happy afternoon once again my lovely blog fans 🙂 … would you like another little treat? I found Sarah and Russell’s beautiful English wedding on photographer Heni Fourie’s website and couldn’t resist sharing some of the details with you…

The details are traditional, timeless and glamorous. This is a wedding with a clear focus on celebrating with friends and family, minimal fuss and the loveliest of memories. For me this is a most wonderful example of everything a wedding needs to be: it’s all about the two of you and being head over heels in love, and blissfully happy.

Gorgeous couple Emma and Matt had the perfect English country wedding – the dried flowers and Matt’s tailored tweed suit complete the countryside theme. The bouquet and flowers are a real highlight, and I love the stationery – all handmade by Emma, who sourced lots of her supplies and suppliers online.

I’ve loved reading all about today’s wedding and I’d recommend you grab a cuppa and take ten minutes for it all to sink in. Emma’s stories and advice are spot on – I love her approach to the wedding cake: it was cake, all cake and nothing but a cake, and it was fabulous. Oh and the flower girls, who she picked up in Monsoon (almost)!

I’m tough to knock down with a feather… but you could swipe me to the floor with a bouquet like this. How incredible are those textures, the statement blooms and the colour scheme… I mean, like, wow. I’m speechless.

Liam Smith Photography Kelmarsh Hall wedding (21)

These are real wedding flowers from a wedding at Kelmarsh Hall. The photography is by top London & Milton Keynes wedding photographer Liam Smith who comes very highly recommended by The English Wedding Blog – you can find out more about him here:

The flowers are by the wonderful mother and daughter duo Ann and Alysha at The Flower Stylist in Northampton. Ann has very kindly explained how the arrangements and bouquet were created and inspired by the bride’s vision of a loose, natural style.

I find it absolutely fascinating to see how a bouquet is structured and designed; how flowers are chosen and arranged, and how a flower stylist can create something amazing for every bride! Today has also been a lesson in flowers for me too… the Coral Charm peony is my new favourite. LOVE!!!

Facebook tells me I’m 80% northern… and so the trip down to Hampton Court Palace for Kirstie Allsopp’s Handmade Fair is always a BIG adventure. This year I’ll be in the wedding tent at the UK’s best craft event, teaching 300 or so of you the basics of modern calligraphy. It’s going to be amazing – I can’t wait! (I’m a little bit scared too… but in a good way!)

The Handmade Fair 2015

Last year The Handmade Fair was very new. The craft workshops were fabulous and the little shopping areas were such a treat – but the one thing they missed was wedding crafts. This year – we got ourselves a whole area for wedding DIY! Woohoo!!

The Handmade Fair is open for 3 days in September, from Friday the 18th until Sunday the 20th. I’ll be there every day, mainly shopping and then teaching calligraphy before lunch, then sipping Prosecco or craft gin and consequently doing some slightly more random shopping each afternoon!
