I’m sure you’re already familiar with Neil Walker Photography – but if you missed these two gorgeous Sussex weddings do please go and have a look! We featured Kate & Russell’s Farbridge wedding in February, and Victoria and Will’s countryside wedding in Friston back in October. Neil and Sarah have become friends of the English Wedding Blog since – and I’m thrilled to be welcoming them as an official sponsor this morning.

Neil’s approach to wedding photography is creative and inspiring: Neil Walker Photography weddings are all about energy.

Neil says every individual couple’s story brings its own energy to a wedding – along with their friends and family and the way everyone interacts on the day. He captures those fleeting looks and touches between brides and grooms, the laughter and smiles as friends and family chat and catch up – all of the precious little moments which come together to create a story and a wonderful atmosphere on your wedding day.

Hasn’t it felt as though spring is finally here this week? I’ve been walking in the hills before work each morning and enjoying the warmth of the sun on my face – it’s been bliss! And so I wanted to bring a little springtime to the blog for you today. This shoot is full of delicious florals and beautiful Charlotte Balbier gowns, in the loveliest natural setting… and showcases a whimsical bridal style which is just perfect for the warmer months.

Sticking to seasonal flowers such as gorgeous tulips in a fresh crisp colour palette really brought the colours, textures and scent of spring to life. Utilising fresh flowers in the hair really co ordinates the look. Pamela Dunn created delicate texture using sheer voile fabrics – a perfect idea for softening any venue or backdrop.

Our springtime brides’ hair was kept soft and natural – beautiful curls and a rustic fishtail plait completed the look. Fresh floral crowns created a stunning focal piece.

Victoria and Stefano’s wedding is gorgeous: their style is city chic; they married in Manchester and made their day personal by enlisting friends and family to help – but they didn’t stress about details and focused more on creating an amazing party atmosphere. As Victoria says, “Don’t get carried away paying a fortune for tiny details which may look pretty but go unnoticed! Invest your money in the things that people will remember – the food, drinks and dancing!

Manchester wedding blog James Tracey Photography (19)

Photographer James Tracey told me a little about the day. “I loved shooting Vicky and Stefano’s brilliant, relaxed wedding. What stands out for me as the photographer was that the wedding featured guests and family from all over the world (with Stefano’s family coming over from Italy), yet everyone partied and celebrated together! It was a so much fun from Jager bombs during the bridal preparation, to the hilarious marriage service followed by a brilliant reception all the way through to the night time party with the incredible Brass Funkeys performing live and making the dancefloor literally bounce! A truly awesome wedding.

Today’s shoot is more than beautiful – the images will help you style a gorgeously green, natural and enchantingly English wedding. I was there on the day of this wedding inspiration shoot: walking in the woodland as the sun rose through the trees was perfect. As we set up our table a deer wandered past; the sounds and smells of the woodland were all around us. The images capture the essence of the English woodland, the tranquility and beauty inspired by nature.

The scene will inspire every boho bride and groom, every couple with a love of nature and a fondness for the outdoors. We used ferns and mosses for a soft, organic look. The table was beautifully styled by Yasmin at Aspire. The moss chair and backdrop look oh-so-inviting; the cakes are elegant and earthy; stationery is rustic and handwritten in a creative, playful modern calligraphy style.

Sometimes as a writer I can step back gracefully and admit that other people (Katharine & Said) are more amazing at this than me… “We could not have asked for a more stunning set of photographs. His photos are entirely unpretentious. They are colourful, vibrant, alive. I cannot recommend Patryk enough. He is extremely talented and I hope to see his work in galleries in the future. He is not just a wedding photographer, and some of his street photography is remarkable. I would not hesitate to recommend Patryk as a photographer and professional.”

Booky people, an elegant Palladian mansion and a dash of Lord of the Rings meets Harry Potter… today’s is a wedding which ticks all of my boxes and the images are out of this world. The day and details are fabulous; the bride and groom Becky & Gareth gorgeous… family dog Lucy plays a major part in the pics and there’s even the sweetest cat (oblivious to any wedding goings-on) and so many gorgeous photos to show you. I can’t wait!!!

“I tied ribbon and a handwritten label to 70 classic books as favours… very time-consuming, but it was really fun choosing particular books for particular people. I know a lot of them have been read and enjoyed, too!”

Our flowers were a purple and blue scheme; my bouquet contained delicate mauve roses to contrast with my ivory dress, while the bridesmaids had white roses to contrast their dresses in various shades of purple and blue. I asked Glenice to create a soft, natural look, loosely arranging the flowers and incorporating some pearls from one of my grandmother’s broken necklaces. For the church, Glenice made some beautiful large arrangements with gladioli and hydrangeas; she then kindly transported them to Somerford Hall so that we got to see them all day!

I long to create the floral arrangements I see on Instagram… gorgeous vases with cascading flowers are to die for. They’re wonderful for wedding tables – and even in my little calligraphy studio I could (and will!) find a spot for something amazing like this.

Floral designer Natasha from Pumpkin and Pye made my year when she got in touch with a series of easy DIY projects using beautiful quality artificial flowers – and I’m thrilled to be sharing her ‘how to’ wedding flower tutorials from now all the way through until May. Today Natasha shows us how to make a fabulous whimsical table centre with a stunning vase centrepiece.

Whimsical table centre

you will need: floral foam, artificial flowers and foliage, feathers, footed bowl, scissors, floral tape and wire cutters. Natasha recommends who supplied the vases and flowers for this tutorial.

Step 1: cut the floral foam to fit your container

Every wedding photographer has a portfolio. I’ve seen hundreds. They rarely stop me in my tracks… but Adam’s did. I’m usually a wordy person… if anything, I waffle. When I saw Adam’s portfolio I was stunned almost into silence and this: “Your portfolio is a knockout, I love it.” Eloquent, aren’t I?! But you’ll be speechless when you see it too

Happy new week everyone! Let’s begin with something beautiful today… a deliciously pretty pastel themed wedding in Lancashire – and the most adorable little family at the centre of it all. Gill and Ash were married at Beeston Manor and their wedding is all about love and family – and all the more beautiful for it.

The details are divine; the bride and groom sooo gorgeous, and their little boy is absolutely adorable. Every moment, every detail of the day is captured beautifully by Lancashire wedding photographer Arusha’s Images Photography, who Gill and Ash highly recommend! “Arusha is such a wonderful photographer, she photographed our day perfectly, our wedding photos are just so gorgeous and romantic, and are the perfect reminder of our wonderful wedding day, thank you.”

Words by Arusha:

Gill and Ash are such a lovely couple, there was some time in between them organising their wedding and the actual day, so much in fact that they moved and renovated a house, had an absolutely adorable baby boy, and planned all their wedding day! Bearing this in mind, it was a real family day.

Do you remember the moment one of you said yes? When suddenly you’d made that first step towards a lifetime together, and your heart was fit to burst with being so much in love? Stepping from being just a couple head over heels in love and enjoying every small adventure together, into planning a wedding can be… daunting. It’s so, so important to keep making amazing memories as you plan your wedding – and I think an engagement shoot is the perfect way to capture some of the romance and excitement of your pre-wedding months.

There are many, many reasons to have a photoshoot before your wedding. It’s a great way to get to know your photographer, relax in front of the camera, perhaps explore your venue  or just have a fun day out.

Billed as Surrey’s premier wedding venue, Northbrook Park is a pretty amazing place – and if your budget allows, then it’s a gorgeous location for a classic English wedding. Northbrook has featured on the English Wedding Blog a handful of times, always taking a back seat as we showcase fabulous real weddings… and so today I thought it was time we explored a little more!

Northbrook Park is a stunning Grade II listed eighteenth-century manor house set within a beautiful country estate. Being a Hampshire and Surrey wedding photographer, this venue is perfect for my brides as sits peacefully on the Surrey and Hampshire border, with extensive grounds and charming walled gardens.” ~ Jennifer Sinclair Photography

My calligraphy went to Northbrook Park before me… lovely Jennifer Sinclair has told me all about this fabulous Surrey wedding venue, and the images I’m sharing with you today are from a styled shoot by Jennifer a few weeks ago. I’ll be sharing more from the masquerade wedding inspiration shoot very soon!

Ben and Nancy’s Devon wedding has some of those breathtaking images you’ll only ever see at country weddings. Their church is fabulous – I’d so love to see it for real!  I adore the landscapes, the bride and groom are gorgeous and Nancy’s bouquet is out of this world. I also spotted some little feather details on the tables, which look wonderful – this is a really gorgeous wedding and I am so excited to share it with you all today.

Country chic in the Devon countryside - English Wedding Blog with Luna Photography (20)

Anna from Luna Photography told me, “The day was memorable for us because Ben & Nancy were so much fun to work with, and we loved the guests’ reaction to the church! The venues were dreamlike, Brentor Church has always been somewhere we wanted to shoot a wedding, when Nancy initially got in touch we couldn’t have been more excited! Twinned with Coombe Trenchard it was absolutely perfect, you can even see Brentor high on the hill from the gardens at Coombe Trenchard which was perfect. We loved the reception venue as there was so much scope for beautiful venues, and the owner, Sarah, could not have been more accommodating.”
