I’m not usually a sneak-peeker… but sometimes I simply can’t resist, and I’m sure many of you will have seen images from this shoot on the English Wedding Blog before! Today, a treat: a full styled shoot with too many amazing ideas to count, all the way from Knighton House in Dorset. I love the richness of the flowers; the warmth and welcoming style of the venue itself, and the feathers and berries used to bring together a beautiful wedding style.

The overall look for the shoot was inspired by Knighton House’s surroundings; the striking colours of autumn on the tree-lined driveway, the foliage and feathers of the local game hunting season and the rich heritage of the house itself. Although the ‘country’ theme is rustic by nature the styling retained an air of elegance befitting the surroundings of Knighton House.

Wedding blogs are a journey of discovery, of new places, photographers, designers and couples – and I love writing the English Wedding Blog so much. Today I want to introduce you to the Manor Hotel at Castle Combe – a grand country house in a tranquil Cotswold village.

Hampshire Photographer Jennifer Sinclair knows the venue well. “The Manor House is set in the beautiful picturesque Cotswold village of Castle Combe.  The venue is amazing; such an idyllic and romantic choice of venue for a wedding.

Through the grand entrance gates, the long sweeping drive over the stone bridge, leads to the amazing 14th Century Manor House.  The Manor House is beautiful both inside and out.  With oak framed beams and quaint windows, the bedrooms are perfect for bridal preparations.

The Manor house is set in beautiful grounds and has the most amazing stone steps leading up to the upper grounds which makes an fantastic setting for not going only group photographs but also bride and groom photographs.

Autumn weddings have something which warms me to my very heart every time. But Hannah and Rob’s Ufton Court wedding is so very special: the colours, styling and photography are just magical and I know you’re going to love reading about their day.

The flowers are amazing. Hannah told me “I didn’t really know what kind of flowers I wanted so I asked Lindsey [from The White Horse Flower Company] for something autumnal with mulberry and gold. The end result was amazing, and not only did they look great but they smelt incredible too.”

Our couple’s top tip for the day? Spot on: “Let somebody else take control. All of our suppliers had worked at our venue, and together, previously and they were fantastic in ensuring everything ran smoothly.”

“It was 1 oclock in the morning.  Aaron was asleep, but I couldn’t resist.  Mark had posted them on Facebook.  I was secretly looking at them under the sheets…”

Beautiful Huntsham Court real weddings by Evolve Photography Devon (32)

Wedding photos are a special thing – a treasure you’ll keep forever, share amongst your family and through the generations. They’re the loveliest reminder of your day and I love hearing your reactions to seeing them for the first time – today’s beautiful bride Emily made me smile when she told me she’d peeked before hubby Aaron saw them!

This is a gorgeous wedding from Huntsham Court in Devon. Emily told me, “Everything had a personal touch. We wanted as many people as possible, from family and friends, involved in creating the day, from videographer, to DJs, to designing the outfits and accessories.”

I fell in love with so many of those details, from the venue itself to the flowers, the little hints of London and the gorgeous red accent colours throughout. Emily’s Jane Bourvis dress is stunning – she looks more than amazing and so does her gorgeous hubby. This is one of my favourite images from the day…

Do you know, I don’t think there’s anything more romantic than ballet: its grace and enchantment are second to none. Ballet as wedding inspiration is drifting onto the wedding scene for 2016 in a big way and I fell in love with this shoot as soon as I saw the first images. You will too, I know! The photography is exquisite. The dresses and setting are dreamy and oh, that bouquet! The styling and special touches are out of this world.

I love the beauty of ballet; it’s graceful and reminds me of how a bride looks on her wedding day, so serene and almost magical.  This love of ballet and the rich autumnal tones around me were the inspiration for this styled shoot, as the combination made me think of the Nutcracker ballet.

What are blogs – for the uninitiated

Wedding blogs are more than a daily dose of wedding pretty. They’re more than real weddings; more than ideas and inspiration. Wedding blogs are one of the best tools out there for matchmaking couples with amazing suppliers.

Image credit: Darima Frampton Photography on the English Wedding Blog

Behind the scenes, wedding blogs are a machine. Bloggers are searching daily for shoots, images, product launches and ideas to share with readers. We’re always looking to discover amazing photographers, designers and new trends. We work to editorial calendars; we plan in advance; we sell advertising space on our websites.

Why they exist and how to make the most of them

Wedding blogs are the new wedding magazines. While we all love flicking through a printed mag, blogs took over with readership numbers a few years ago. Magazines sell hundreds of thousands of copies; blogs count their readers in the millions.

Hello beautiful 🙂 I have a little treat for you today – and a treat for me as well because this styled shoot is everything I love most. Lovely Louise from And So To Wed curated a fabulously elegant shoot at Tanfield House in Yorkshire. The ideas are divine, the images superb, the styling out of this world.

And So To Wed Tanfield House Yorkshire wedding photography by Claire Basiuk (1)

Using a colour palette of white and barely there gold, alongside soft natural foliage, textures and lace fabrics the shoot evokes feelings of timeless warm winter celebrations in luxurious surroundings, capturing the feel of a winter wedding morning and the reflective time of the bride at this truly fabulous venue.

Louise wanted to bring together small businesses in the wedding industry who hand make their items and are predominately based in the North of England. The inspiring images come from Tanfield House’s beautiful bridal suite overlooking the river.

She told me, “The venue, Tanfield House, is a new wedding venue based in the heart of Yorkshire that offers wedding couples a truly unique experience. Still a family home, couples can have the whole house to do with what they want, including the beautiful riverside gardens.

I have to show you this: a strikingly beautiful wedding dress showcase. The word spellbound was invented for European designer Valentine Avoh. She has more imagination than most. She’s inspiring and creative – and oh so worth a little trip to Brussels!) Just take a look at this.

There are a few wedding photographers whose style is so unique it’s unmistakeable. Catharine Noble Photography is one. Images are distinctly delicate, light and fresh – they have a magic I recognise instantly and yet can’t put my finger on. Catharine and James are an amazing team, and I’m over the moon to be sharing this very different – and beautiful – adventure of theirs with you.

We went to the beautiful Agapé Bridal Boutique recently to capture their Temperley London Trunk Show! The collection was AMAZING – The divine fabrics in the finest lace, silk and chiffons and the way it drapes and hangs so perfectly! The intricate details, patterns and embellishments are exquisite and unmatched by any we have seen!

Temperley is one of our absolute favourite wedding dress designers, we love that it’s a British label and thought it would be perfect for the English Wedding blog because they too are pretty, English and full of personality!

Time for a dose of super pretty, my lovelies! Embrace your feminine sides and indulge your most floral of fancies with this divine theme from our gorgeous couple Sally and Matt. Today’s ideas are liberally stolen from their castle wedding featured on the blog last week. I love them – and I know you will too! Here’s how to get the look:

pink wedding style ideas by Jennifer Jane Photography (1)

1. Fabulously feminine florals

Sally and her best girls held mixed bouquets with colours which came together beautifully: dahlias are a key floral trend for this year, and by mixing them with plenty of roses in ivory, pale and hot pink Sally’s florist Kim at the The Flower House Studio (http://www.theflowerhouse.biz/ ) created a super pretty bouquet. Use eucalyptus and allium buds for texture and finish off with a lace ribbon – these flowers will smell as divine as they look!

Top tip: Don’t be afraid to mix up your flowers. The more colours, shapes and textures – and the more creative freedom you allow your florist – the better!
