Every wedding is a collection of wonderful little stories. We spend months planning the tiniest little details and styling the day until we’re ready to pop – but in the end, every bride and groom tell me it’s about the people, the love and laughter, and having everyone you love in the same room to celebrate with you. So of course, your wedding photography is all about capturing the moments – and London wedding photographer Nick Tucker does that with a brilliantly unique style. He’s a fashion photographer who focuses on telling your story – and I love that his images have a sense of humour, a sense of occasion and above all a thoughtfulness and sense of fun! I’m delighted to welcome Nick Tucker Photography to English Wedding today. We’ll be hearing more from Nick in 2019 – I can’t wait! For now though, Nick’s here to introduce himself to you lovely lot. Enjoy!

Happy Tuesday everyone! I’m surrounded by calligraphy pens and inks today as I get ready for another modern calligraphy class on Friday – but I just had to take a little breather and dive into some wedding loveliness with you this lunchtime. Now I very often talk about English Wedding as a joint effort: it’s not just me here, it’s all of the fabulous creatives whose photos and products you see on these pages that make up English Wedding. And today I’m introducing one of those lovely humans whose gorgeous images make English-Wedding.com such a beautiful place to be.

The English Wedding Blog would be but a speck of what it is today without the fabulous, inspiring and dedicated sponsors who fill its pages with gorgeousness every day. On a personal level too, I’ve learned so many things from people I’ve met along the way: every stationer, photographer, bridal shop owner and florist has an amazing story to tell and wisdom to share.

I had a brilliant chat with one of our lovely members, the brilliant Kent wedding photographer Benjamin Toms, earlier in the year and we put together a series of really useful advice and discussion features for you to enjoy. Here’s the first, and I’ll hand you over to Ben:

I love meeting couples before they book, it’s exciting to hear about their plans, but it can also be a little nerve racking, a bit like going on a first date!  This first meeting is about getting to know each other and finding out if you like each other, after all, your wedding photographer will be with you for a long time on your big day.

Photography is subjective – what I like, you may not. This presents you, my dear reader, with a choice to make: what do I like, and can I afford it?

What is important to remember at all times is the true significance of photography and the photograph. It preserves our lives and our memories in a way that nothing else can.
