Mark, your inspirational wedding planning and design has earned you an unrivalled reputation in the wedding industry. What does it take to be so successful in wedding planning?

“Experience and knowledge. Of all the things that could possibly go wrong, to ensure you avoid them. But a big part is being organised and have great people skills. All couples are different and you’ll need to get along with as well as understand them all.”

You’ve developed a fascinating friendship with top UK wedding blogger Kat from Rock n Roll Bride. Has Kat influenced your wedding planning style?

The Elite wedding blog logoAllister Freeman is a top UK reportage wedding photographer & photojournalist – his photography has a tranquility and a tenderness to it which for me is unrivalled in the industry. I’m thrilled to share Allister’s insightful interview as part of The Elite on English Wedding blog today.

Allister Freeman cares deeply about weddings, his clients and the industry he inspires – that’s clear to see from his work and from his wedding photography blog. His real wedding blog posts are personal and generous; his thoughts on wedding photography and advice posts are considerate, useful and compelling.

The Elite: Allister Freeman – an interview

Allister, for me you provide the very definition of fine art documentary wedding photography. Was it an active choice for you to master this style, capturing the naturally beautiful moments of a wedding day rather than staging key images?

For me, long-lasting wedding photography must be powerful and emotive and more than just a set of pretty pictures. In order to create images that evoke a strong emotional reaction viewers need to be able to connect with the moment and so images need to be believable.

With a history of impressively elegant, gracious and luxurious wedding dress collections, the Caroline Castigliano brand is soon to celebrate 21 years in the wedding industry.  The Elite: Caroline Castigliano: an interview

Caroline, your gowns are so exquisitely made and with so much thought for movement and grace in the designs – to what extent are your dresses inspired by their wearers? When you design a new collection are you imagining the girls who’ll wear your gowns?

“Yes, I always consider the girl that will wear my gowns, I often pop into my Knightsbridge boutique so I am fortunate to be able to meet and see brides and really visualise exactly how I want them to look when I am designing a new collection.

Chris Hanley Photography: The Elite: an interview

Chris, you’ve photographed weddings at some of the UK’s most exclusive venues and run photography training workshops in Italy and Spain. Which is best?

“The best is simply the one I’m shooting at the time. Why? Because I am so focued on creating the most beautiful pictures for my clients. Observing light and understanding how to use it or replicate it is one of the principle foundations of great wedding photography.”

David Fielden is a leading UK bridalwear designer, an inspiration to many, a creative force at the cutting edge of bridal fashion.

David’s catwalk shows never fail to create a buzz in the wedding industry, and his 2012 catwalk with its theme of urban decay – with the delicate subtext of love overcoming hardship – was no exception.

David Fielden: The Elite: an interview

I asked David to share a little insight into his collection, his inspiration and his designs.

David, your bridal catwalks always cause a stir: this year’s Urban Destruction theme was especially thought-provoking. Is there a philosophy behind the styling of your events?

“We live in an intransient time, with world affairs effecting our everyday decisions. So I wanted to capture that feeling and show that love will always win out.”

Your gowns have a very unique style. How is a David Fielden gown born… do you schedule time to sketch ideas, or does inspiration come when you least expect it to?
