1. Wear Your Everyday Gold Jewellery

Instead of statement sparkly jewels, we’re seeing brides choosing pretty layering pieces to style their big day outfit. The general trend is that brides are wanting to be comfortable and more relaxed on their wedding day and this is a great way to choose jewellery that you can actually wear again long after the day itself. The style is more modern and minimal with just a hint of embellishment such as a decorative pendant. Opt for gold, it’s more luxe and looks great with ivory.

Happy Friday lovelies! I hope you have exciting plans for the weekend ahead ? – but before we even get there, let’s make Friday AMAZING, shall we? I have a wonderfully tranquil and beautiful feature for you today. It’s all about sustainable wedding styling, and comes from (where else?) the fabulous River Cottage in Devon.

The shoot was perfectly styled by Claire and Vicky from Do Me A Favour. The stunning images are by lovely Laura at Freeformimages Photography. Laura’s website is a beautiful, vibrant and joyful little part of the internet and I wholeheartedly recommend you check her out – we LOVE her style here at English Wedding HQ! Laura’s here to tell you all about today’s editorial photoshoot. Enjoy!

Sustainable, vegan and organic wedding styling ideas from the UK (3)

Today’s wedding inspiration comes from the beautiful venue of South Farm in Cambridgeshire. Styling is rustic luxe with a focus on sustainability, incorporating organic fabrics, a vegan cake and ethically sourced glassware, all curated by lovely Janine at Waterfall Wedding Decor.

It’s becoming more and more viable to have a sustainable and vegan wedding in 2019 and beyond. Suppliers are switching on to sustainability more than ever before, and in every category from cake designers to stationers, wedding dress makers and caterers you WILL find a wonderful, ethical supplier if you put in a little research.

The biggest change in weddings in the last five years has been in venues. Back in the day, you hired a big country house hotel and / or a marquee. Now it seems half of our weddings in the UK are in barns and fields – and I LOVE that! It gives you so much more creative freedom to style your day – and fits perfectly with three MAJOR wedding styles: barn weddings, festival weddings and tipi weddings.

I know I’m not alone in my aversion to polyester chair covers at weddings… many a time I’ve asked why venues can’t just invest in nice chairs – isn’t it that simple? So I’m thrilled to be able to introduce Partybench today – especially for marquee weddings, tipi celebrations and festival style weddings – oh, and this is just the perfect seating solution for your barn wedding too!
