I love Katie and Ben’s wedding! Alice in Wonderland is a fun theme, and their styling is uniquely elegant… it’s just perfect. The decor is lovely and light and pretty and feminine, the bride is beautiful, and there’s a magic to the portraits which I really love.

“We hung lanterns the day before, which took a good few hours and all the bridesmaids pitching in! We also had to lay out the other elements, like the croquet, cake table and place cards. I stamped out all the table placecards, designed the menu, and made favours with my bridesmaid, white and purple marshmallows wrapped in ribbon with a personalised sticker which I designed online. With another bridesmaid we made all the ‘over here’ ‘this way to wonderland’ signs with paint and an old crate. Our wedding cake was an M & S Oversized Colin – to match the theme (and who doesn’t love Colin?!)”

I love today’s real wedding blog – the peonies, the lens flare, the castle… the details are simple but the overall look is so elegant and beautiful. And Lulworth Castle is fabulous… the interior is perfectly imperfect and would lend itself to a modern, almost urban wedding style as gracefully as it does to today’s wonderfully feminine & romantic theme…

Castle wedding in Dorset at Lulworth Castle with Jodie Cooling Photography (34)

“The wedding flowers were pink peonies, gypsophilia, all very pretty and pink! We went for tall table arrangements at the castle as it helped to draw the eye upwards into the beautiful building. Our florist was Christine Browne of Floral Arts in Weymouth, she knows the castle inside out so knew what would work. Pink peonies were really my only request and although we discussed it all, we left it to her to do a great job for us. Trust them – they know what works!”

The details of the day are breathtaking. The peonies in those fabulous bouquets look good enough to eat! The hydrangea / delphinium / English country garden table arrangements are so, so pretty – perfect for an early summer wedding. And I LOVE the naked chocolate strawberry cake… it looks lush!

Claire and Nico’s wedding is fabulous – full of pretty homemade touches and all with the help of their wonderful family and friends. The flowers are stunning, the rustic wooden props and accessories look gorgeous!

“Our wedding was the happiest day of our lives… totally perfect! I wanted something really chilled and relaxed, nothing too styled or formal. It was very much a homemade affair styled around the English countryside, relaxed, and shabby chic!

Lots of the bits and pieces were homemade. My amazing mum made 180 metres of beautiful bunting, the cake (and not just one – there were so many practice runs that we were all sick of the sight of cake by the time the wedding arrived!), the wedding favours (lovely vanilla fudge) and far too much else to mention. I spend weeks steaming labels off jam jars and covering them in twine, making the table plans by hand and so on…

Fairy light chandeliers, rustic DIY details and a fabulous bouquet… today’s wedding is more than gorgeous! This is a perfect wedding for the blog… the prettily decorated barn, the lovely cake, the pretty little details (I love the lavender on the table plan, the handmade favours, the flowers)… I hope you do too!Claire

“Our wedding theme was rustic fairytale. I spent hours hand making as much as possible and tried to personalise every detail from confetti cones to hand painted signs. I went to town on handmade elements! I personalised the confetti cones, hand stamped every letter of our guests names onto hand made paper for place settings, hand painted the signs, built the s’more favours. I loved doing it all and I’m so happy our photographer captured it all. I was worried the details would be missed but our guests loved all the personal details.

Happy Tuesday everyone! I have a bright and summery wedding to make your screens happy this morning. The lovely light blues of the wedding are gorgeous, bride Anna is stunning, the venue is crazy-beautiful… there is so much inspiration for you here it’s fabulous!

Summer wedding at Harewood House with Ally Byrom Photography (5)

“We had a very blank canvas to work with, which is what we wanted. So we got a few ideas from Pinterest and went with a bright, friendly summery colour palette.

“We loved friends and family getting involved in the experience with us. We were lucky that our family were extremely supportive and understanding. We felt no pressure whatsoever to do anything in a certain way, they were just keen to help in any way they could. My mother made some cute hanging hearts, parents and siblings helped with the cakes, and friends and family helped with some of the smaller flowers and vases. It was the more the merrier to be involved really!

We’re blessed to have such fabulous historic wedding destinations in the UK – our coastlines, countryside and quaint, quintessentially English cities inspire the loveliest of weddings. I’m so happy to be sharing Janina & Steve’s day with you this morning. They’re the sweetest couple – the details are stunning (LOVE that bouquet!) even though they chose not to have a theme: the spirit and style of their day comes from the grace of the city of Oxford and its architecture.

“We love Oxford’s libraries, gardens and architecture. Getting married in two historic buildings, one of them among the most iconic buildings in Oxford was a privilege. We have both moved to Oxford from abroad and the wedding was our chance to share the life we have built here with our friends and families. Many of the most important people in our lives hadn’t met each other before. We had our rehearsal dinner in Somerville College, where we met and where Steve still teaches and we hosted a brunch the morning after the wedding in our house. For the wedding itself, we both immediately knew we wanted to celebrate in the Divinity School when we first visited it.”

Morning, beautiful! I have a treat for you today – the prettiest countryside wedding from Devon with oodles of creative inspiration you can take away to inspire your own wedding! Filly and Jim married in Exton, Devon, and celebrated at home. Filly’s dress is just divine… and the entire wedding is so beautiful.

Filly’s stunning vintage dress is from Days of Grace in Budleigh Salterton – their heirloom gowns are wonderful, made from vintage lace and perfect for a country wedding with a twist of boho. I love this! Filly and her girls had their hair done by Tara of Head Hair and Beauty – and they all look amazing.

Becky and Tim had throughly thought out the whole day, with something always happening, whether that was the live musical performances from Tim the groom, the dance off or the firework finish! Also having know Becky since we were at primary school it made it extra special to be a part of their day.

Genna and Sean’s wedding is so, so beautiful! The venue was covered in flowers, fairy lights and hanging lanterns (all handmade with love), with special touches created on site, made lovingly by friends and family. The venue itself has scenery which surrounded the Ceremony and Reception, making it extra special!

“Words can’t describe how happy we are that we chose Evolve Photography to capture the special moments on our Wedding day! Mark was absolutely fantastic, and clearly extremely passionate, as well as very talented at what he does. This made the day, and photos extremely enjoyable, and meant that we were able to just relax and enjoy our day. Mark was also able to capture the essence of both of us, and our bridal party and groomsmen – allowing the fun that we were having to show through in our photos, which was fantastic! Our photos turned out better than we could imagined, and we would highly recommend Evolve Photography to anyone who can snap him up!

An English wedding with an Italian twist? Oh yes… Suzanne and Glenn’s wedding party, which is all kinds of gorgeous, followed an intimate Italian wedding in Florence. So all their friends in the UK could share in the celebrations, they had a reception back home – and it rocks.

“As we had a marquee all the decoration was down to us, we tried to keep it quite simple with cream carpet a white linings a lot of the marquee was open so to bring the outside area in. We hired a bar made from wooden pallets and a few other vintage features from Idyllic days.

I made invites, menus, and a wooden pallet filled with pictures of our families on their wedding days. I love anything like that and really enjoyed finding all the perfect elements for each project.”

Your Wednesday just got a whole lot more AMAZING… because we have the most beautiful boho wedding for you to get all inspired by this morning. I love everything – Abigail’s dress and her stunning plait, Mark’s super cool look (and his first dance story!), the flowers, the tipi, the wedding bake-off… and I very much think you will be as bowled over by this stunning wedding as I was!

“We aren’t a particularly traditional couple, so we knew from the off that a castle or a fancy hotel wasn’t for us. We knew we wanted a real earthy, bohemian feel so after seeing an advertisement on a magazine we just knew we had to have a tipi. Pitching it at our local cricket club was the ideal place.

“Over the year of planning, my initial earthy theme started to morph into a more Country Garden feel. I sourced some great watering cans and Mark painstakingly cut wood slices for my centerpieces. My florist then filled these with a beautiful arrangement of garden flowers.
