There’s too much pressure to DIY wedding details, and so I’m proud to be featuring a classic English wedding today where the bride and groom found local suppliers to style their day… and not a sewing needle in sight. Joe and Florence had the most perfect wedding – a big party for family and friends with elegant styling in a Yorkshire stately home.

Rise Hall is a venue with a unique history, which I knew nothing about until I’d read Florence and Joe’s wedding blog interview. The Grade II listed building was a convent, then abandoned and eventually rescued by Sarah Beeny, and is now an exclusive use wedding venue (interestingly, they never hold weddings on two consecutive days, so you can set up and clear away without any pressure!)

Melissa Beattie was Lorraine’s second shooter on the day – she’s one of the loveliest and most talented people I’ve met in the wedding industry and you can find her here: www.melissabeattie.com

There’s a difference between homemade and handcrafted details on a wedding day… at least for me. Handcrafted is a level above the norm: it’s the inclusion of real craftsmanship and skill in designing and creating showcase pieces. For David and Frances, handcrafted elements like the slate table plan and place names made all the difference. I love their Fisherman’s Retreat wedding and I know you will too.

There’s a sense of artistry in today’s wedding, not only with the smaller details but with the imagery of this gorgeous couple’s day. Photographs are by my lovely friend Jamie at Vickerstaff Photography. I’m thrilled because Frances and David have given him the most amazing review – “The pictures were incredible. We laughed, cried and relived the whole day. Truly amazing pictures and we were so pleased as you never really know what you’re getting until you see the final product! We then sent the link to all our family who have all said how beautiful they are.”

I do love hearing stories from all of my brides and grooms whose special days feature on the English Wedding Blog. You’re all so amazing it’s unreal! The tips and advice you share have taught me pretty much all I know about wedding planning… and I know so many other couples are inspired by your words and images every single day.

Today it’s Charlotte and Chris whose beautiful wedding will be published on the pages of the English Wedding Blog. They’re a stunning couple whose words and images about their wedding will stay with me for a long time. I found it hard to select images because so many were just gorgeous. (Happy news: there are loads for you to scroll through! Yay!)

The same goes for tips and advice from the happy couple, but I do love this brilliant advice: “make sure you plan a special exit because otherwise it tails off and you just walk out which isn’t very special. We went for the classic running through the sparklers – it was lovely and everyone got to have fun playing with sparklers as we drove off.”

I’m not a weepy blogger… but it’s totally true that Laura and Rob’s interview for the English Wedding Blog brought a tear to my eye. They’re the most amazing couple: their images are as wonderful as the day they planned around the passions of their family and friends.

We have everything in today’s real wedding blog: a beautiful bride and gorgeous groom, fabulous photography and oodles of romance.

There are also, of course, the details we all love: country garden flowers, handcrafted details, wedding signs, miles of bunting and the prettiest dress and accessories you can imagine. All are captured in the romantic and whimsical style of lovely Rebecca from Wild Rose Photography.

Laura told me the best thing about being married is “the feeling of being part of an incredible team and that you can take on the world together.” Need I say more?

There’s a minimum of fuss to Natalie and Tom’s West Sussex wedding – they chose elegant, understated details and they chose well. Their table plan is simple and contemporary; the flowers are modern and summery; venue styling is subtle and chic. I love everything about their day.

Barn weddings come in all shapes and flavours these days, and Natalie and Tom went for pretty pastel colours with a bright and seasonal style. The menu was veggie (which is awesome!) and guests had plenty of traditional games to keep them occupied after the meal.

Natalie told me, “We loved having Jennifer share our wedding day. She blended in with our day perfectly and all the guests commented on how professional she was… Our wedding photographs were perfect and just what we wanted – she really captured the day.

The alpacas were a surprise… Caroline told me their wedding was an informal, countryside celebration with “alpacas as the accidental stars of the show” – and I think they’re adorable. The appeal of an outdoor wedding is unpredictability, to an extent… but this is something new! I love it!

Planning a wedding in just 4 months makes DIY a little trickier, but it didn’t stop Caroline and Rory from making their own stationery, with friends helping out with other crafty details. One friend made 200 metres of bunting for the day, and at the last minute too! It looks so lovely in blue tones strung across the reception space.

Hunting for suppliers was done online, and our gorgeous bride and groom were lucky to find Yorkshire wedding photographer Susie Lawrence, whose images are beautiful and relaxed – a perfect fit for an informal wedding. Caroline told me, “Susie was exactly what we needed on the day – discreet and friendly, putting us all at ease.”

Those of you who follow me on my personal instagram will know I’m lucky to live by the beautiful Lake District. My home is one of the most beautiful places in the world and I’d never dream of getting married anywhere else. Andy and Katie’s wedding is literally right up my street – and instantly shoots to the top of my list of weddings of the year. Their day is charming, full of personal touches and still wonderfully down to earth. Oh and Katie is the prettiest bride with such a wonderful smile… you’ll LOVE today’s real wedding.

The colours for the day were kept in line with the Lakeland setting: blues and greens kept the styling consistent, although little decoration was needed. Katie is a keen and talented crafter, and she made 150 metres of bunting to string across the beams of the chapel and reception venue.

Timeless and traditional always works like a charm. When Sophie and Daniel were married this summer they knew their day would be elegant and stylish, with pretty handmade touches and delicate detailing. I love the pretty colour scheme of dusky pinks and pastels, the little knitted dolls and the pretty tissue paper flowers decorating the marquee.

Sophie is breathtakingly gorgeous – a beautiful bride who says the day was “a little girl’s dream come true“. Her review of Hampshire wedding photographer Jennifer Sinclair is fabulous: “Not only is her work amazing she is also a lovely, fun, patient person. Jennifer has become a friend who we will always want to stay in contact with.

Jennifer says, “The sunshine in the evening was amazing and I loved the warm golden light of the evening; perfect for a campsite fire outside the marquee.  As a photographer, I love the photographs taken in between to the afternoon and evening reception; the guests are really relaxed and now having fun. One of my favourite photographs is of the three little girls ready to let the balloons go.

Sunflowers are my favourite… nothing packs a punch quite like a wedding full of glorious sunflowers. Marianne and Sam’s wedding is like summer itself: warming and friendly, bright and cheerful, beautifully floral (of course!) and glorious with colour and sunshine. You’re going to LOVE today’s real wedding feature!

Pendrell Hall wedding blog in Staffordshire with Rob & Sarah Gillespie Photography (60)

Sam and Marianne married at Pendrell Hall in Staffordshire, a superb venue which needs very little additional decor. Pendrell is one of England’s finest country house wedding venues, and I adore the atmosphere and charm of the house and gardens. Our bride and groom are both stunning: Marianne’s designer dress was made especially for her by the supremely talented Zeynep Kartal, while Sam wore Ted Baker.

Squeeeeeal!!! Today’s wedding is a little bit like living inside a rainbow. There are as many colours as there are surprises, as many glorious details as there are moments and smiles and beautiful memories. I honestly don’t know where to begin!

Summer Fete Berkshire wedding by Benjamin Stuart Photography (55)

Lucy and Dan are the loveliest couple, with their own super sense of style and outfits which reflect their personalities (which are, clearly, awesome!) to a T. Their day is styled for a summer fete, with lots of DIY ideas to inspire you all, and was put together with lots of help from friends and family.

Have you been to the Midland Hotel in Morecambe? It’s fabulous: an art deco hotel on the seafront, lovingly restored and restyled with so much character, and a superb wedding venue. I was there for the very first time only a month or so ago but the hotel has featured on the English Wedding Blog many times…

Midland Hotel Morecambe wedding blog Lisa Hindle Photography (14)

And so today I’m over the moon to have a fabulous wedding from the Midland Hotel to share with you. The details are classy and understated: flowers are white; stationery is stylish with a dash of art deco, and our brides are absolutely gorgeous!

Midland Hotel Morecambe wedding blog Lisa Hindle Photography (22)

Amy and Krysta found their suppliers online, at wedding fairs and through recommendations from the venue. They loved their bridal boutique in Preston for the super helpful advice they received – and for being able to choose dresses which worked well together even though they couldn’t see each other’s until the wedding day! Don’t they look amazing?!

Today’s couple are so gorgeous and lovely I could burst with excitement to show you their wedding! Liza and Matt had the prettiest day at Redhouse Barn in Worcestershire – a fabulously light and airy barn with scope for a personal touch which I love! And oh, my goodness did they glam the place up with some super luxe floral arrangements…

Proof, if ever anyone needed any, that barn weddings don’t have to be rustic… today’s wedding is super sophisticated, traditional and full of glamorous detailing: there isn’t a scrap of hessian to be found!

This is a super classy wedding with elegant touches and traditional styling. Liza and Matt are the most gorgeous couple, and have written some fantastic tips for other brides and grooms in their interview at the end of today’s wedding feature. Oh – but take your time looking through all of their glorious images and don’t miss the flowers… Liza’s peony bouquet looks good enough to eat! Enjoy.
