Kate and David’s wedding is beautiful, perfect… the dream summer wedding at a venue I know is a pretty special place (my cousin was married here!) – and they have the loveliest images to remember it by, from John Mottershaw Photography and with my friend Carol Elizabeth Photography as his second shooter on the day. “We ended up having 2-4-1 on the wedding day as John brought in Carol as an extra pair of hands, so we were very lucky! They both fitted in so well with the guests and you barely noticed they were there snapping away.”

“We were both so pleased when we came across Charlotte’s boutiqueShe was completely different to other boutiques. We sat down while we filled in a questionnaire like what was my budget and what sort of designers I liked etc. and then I just started trying on dresses that she would pick out for me. She would then use the feedback I had on certain dresses to then pick out the next dress. Until finally I found the one! I knew it was perfect from the moment I tried it on.”

Scott and Laura’s summer wedding is so wonderfully pretty! The bright yellows, gorgeous florals and delicate details are guaranteed to brighten your morning. “I adored my fresh flowers – simple countryside yellows and whites – and was gutted that I couldn’t keep them forever.”

Today’s bride and groom are the loveliest couple too – Laura’s beautiful in her wedding gown and you won’t believe where Scott got his super cute suit from! They’ve shared some great advice with us in their English Wedding Blog interview at the end of the feature – don’t miss it, it’s a good one!

“Write a wish list and stick to it! There are so different wedding suppliers out there to tempt you with all sorts of things you’ve never even thought of and you can quickly become convinced that your big day will not be perfect without them! Also, use local/small business suppliers – we found the attention to detail and customer service far superior to the bigger companies as well as the cost being much lower! “

Gemma and Joe had one of those country weddings which look effortlessly beautiful… the flowers and venue styling work seamlessly together, and the atmosphere is of celebration in a relaxed setting surrounded by a wonderful family. I adore their day, from the most heart-melting moments to the finer details. I hope you’ll love it as much as I do!

Special touches include some fabulous ideas: “We hired a vintage sports car for the weekend, which Joe and his brother enjoyed the morning of the wedding.  We then drove ourselves to the reception venue and enjoyed some time-out together and we also put it to good use the day after the wedding, driving to the coast, where we sat on the beach and reminisced about the amazing day we had

Happy Valentines Day, you lovely lot!! I wanted to share something really special with you today – a romantic, intimate English wedding blog with super pretty and inspiring pics! Jo and Andrew are the loveliest couple – their Hampshire wedding at Oakley Hall is absolutely gorgeous. They wanted to show their guests, many of whom were travelling from Australia, a taste of England with the venue, styling and atmosphere of their wedding – and the day looks simply amazing. The flowers are stunning – they’re by Winchester florist Catkin & Pussywillow, who came recommended by Jo & Andrew’s wedding planner Marie at Isabella Weddings.

The images are out of this world – they’re by lovely Hampshire wedding photographer Tasha at Ikonworks Photography. Tasha is a superstar whose passion for her business shines – and Jo & Andrew loved having her around on their wedding day: “We were skeptical about getting a photographer at first as it was such a small wedding but we are so pleased we did… Even tho Tasha was with us from start to finish we didn’t feel she was in the way at all, and in fact by the end she felt like she was part of the family! It was wonderful seeing the photos… we just loved them and viewing them brought back all the wonderful memories.”

America has its vineyards – the most amazing wedding receptions in the US seem to take place at vineyard locations, don’t they? – but they’ll never, ever rival the charm and quintessentially English atmosphere of a Kent apple orchard. Edward and Saori chose the loveliest venue for their Japanese & English fusion wedding… and every detail, every image is just perfect.

“Lighting was really important for us and I wanted to create something special for the day. I decided to create our names in lights – this involved buying wooden stencils, a large sheet of ply wood, lighting strings, spraypaint and some dedicated DIY time! I think the lighting board cost about £50 to make and really created a wow factor when people walked into the venue – to buy or hire something like this would be hundreds of pounds.

Happy Friday everyone! Come to sunny Devon for today’s gorgeous art deco wedding in an insanely amazing venue. Cherry and Myles chose the stunning Burgh Island Hotel for their reception, and it set the scene for an incredibly beautiful, chic and art deco wedding day.

“We tried our very best to find suppliers local to either our home in Cardiff or from our wedding location in Devon, as we are very keen on supporting local businesses.  We looked at wedding magazines, local wedding blogs and pinterest for most of our ideas and then found most of our contacts at local wedding fairs or via the recommendation of family and friends.”

“The venue was so exquisite, no additional styling was necessary.  All we added was a few personal touches and a vase of flowers per table, created by [our florist] Sally.  Burgh Island Hotel is an absolutely exceptional venue, with incredible scenery and exquisite décor… to have tried to add further decoration would have been completely superfluous and would have detracted from its charm.”

The decoration was all low key, we hung lanterns in the marquee along with wooden hearts but we wanted to keep the decoration to a minimum. Elvey Farm has its own florist, a wonderful lady called Lesley Masters. I gave Lesley some rough ideas and asked for everything to appear natural like it had just been picked from the garden and she came up with the beautiful creations.

“I was delighted with the photography from our wedding. Fiona managed to capture the day perfectly and really reflected the country feel we tried to create. The candid photos of family and friends laughing during the speeches were wonderful.

One thing that really marks a wedding for me is the menswear: as a wedding blogger it’s something I look out for even more than the dress. You just know when the guys are wearing something a little more interesting than hired suits, it’s going to be an amazing wedding. Beverley & Jackson – your day is the perfect, gorgeous, brilliant example of the kind of celebration I love!

Today’s stunning bride & groom married at Gaynes Park, Essex. “The venue is so beautiful that it didn’t need much decoration at all. We chose to have some festoon lighting in the barn, which turned out to be a great decision as when we sat down to eat the heavens opened, so the lighting made the room feel cosy and intimate.”

They saved money on flowers: “The biggest saving we made was through our choice of dried flowers. Dried flowers are much cheaper than fresh and it also meant that we could make up the arrangements ourselves.”

This is the most festival-like wedding I’ve ever seen… and it’s perfect. I wonder sometimes if weddings are a little too formal for everyone: even when a wedding is styled to look like a festival, I think often it still feels more like a wedding – but today, the focus is well and truly on fun, and music, and really the decor and styling is only a tiny part of things. Phil and Elizabeth fell in love, married, and had the celebration of a lifetime. And it’s AMAZING.

The gorgeous couple describe their day as a “Fun, relaxed, unique, non-traditional, outdoor wedding. We didn’t have a theme but it was outdoor & relaxed, almost like a festival. We used yellow and grey where we could but weren’t too worried about that.We had done the legal ceremony in a registry office 2 days earlier, but we had a Celebrant and did the whole ceremony and to us this one was the ‘real’ ceremony.”

Chris and Emily styled their Sussex wedding beautifully. They chose a venue which fitted the relaxed wedding style they wanted to have, and the simple and impactful fairy light and lantern decor makes it fun, pretty and welcoming!

Emily is absolutely gorgeous. Despite being a tomboy at heart, she told me, “I really surprised myself by finally choosing a fit and flare dress, it really stood out to me as the delicate ivory lace had a modern feel and it was offset against a light gold satin which gave it a vintage feel. I took it to a seamstress to make some alterations so my dress is one of a kind and I felt like a million dollars on the day.”

Emily saved money by buying a sample wedding dress that was about to be discontinued. “It needed a few minor repairs due to being tried on in the shop but even with these it was half the price of having one custom made.

It’s perfectly possible to make any theme look amazing: Katrina and Pete’s “twist of Harry Potter” wedding knocked me for six when I saw their gorgeous, vintage-inspired hanging table names. Wow. This is a wedding I KNOW you’ll love.

“The table plan was old keys that I bought and attached little butterfly wings to each one. We hung them on fishing line and attached them to a tree where we had the welcome drinks. They were supposed to resemble the flying keys from the first harry potter book. The effect was awesome and everyone took them home as a keepsake.”

“The best thing about being married is once everything settles down it becomes ‘normal’. That sounds bad. But actually once all the wedding bubble has gone you get to be just you two again and work towards all those promises you made on your wedding day. Normal for me means meant to be, and we are more in love than ever.”

Today’s fabulously beautiful wedding is going to be a favourite for 2016 – I can see it now. The handcrafted touches are wonderful, and I am SO impressed with gorgeous bride Laura’s lettering and wedding signs! (I’m teaching a calligraphy workshop today and seeing people learn to write like this is one of my favourite things!)

Chris and Laura planned their wedding over 2 years: “Having such a long time to plan the wedding had its pros and cons. We had time to source amazing suppliers and spend hours swooning over gorgeous weddings. However, I did get slightly overwhelmed with the sheer volume of wonderful ideas out there.”

The flowers are another huge highlight of the day:I spent a long time searching the internet for a local florist that created wedding flowers that had a bohemian, unstructured feel to them. Helen from The Flower Mill completely saw my vision for the flowers. They just pulled everything together and were definitely the focal point we were looking for!”
