Annie and Chris had a truly unique wedding – they know some amazing people and through friends they were able to marry at London’s fabulous Lyric Theatre – which gave their wedding so much personality and atmosphere, it’s just fabulous! The flowers are bright and colourful, styling is elegant and theatrical… and today’s bride and groom are as gorgeous as they are lovely. Images are by Sussex photographer Neil Walker.

We used bright spring colours for our flowers – peaches, lilacs, yellows & pinks. James from Detta Phillips is brilliant – they looked spectacular.

This is what we at English Wedding Blog HQ call a wow wedding. A wow wedding is when we gasp, shout back at our screens and can’t stop grinning. It’s gorgeous – the images, the bride & groom, the bouquet (double wow!) and the styling of the reception… just amazing!

“I work as a designer so I loved creating the details for our special day. My dad built the chalkboards and easels for me which I decorated with the chalk pens by hand. My parents, brother, aunt, uncle and husband patiently assisted me with with the set up the day before – I knew exactly how I wanted to arrange the table wreaths, candles and vintage bottles and they were so kind to put up with me being obsessive over the placement of everything as I could mere have completed it in time myself!”

Today’s is a fabulously fun, colourful and creative wedding on a budget – Charlotte and Gareth were married at Fison Barn and wanted to keep their day informal and pretty without breaking the bank! Their ideas are lovely; Charlotte’s DIY tips and her English Wedding Interview are a great read. I love Charlotte’s honesty too: they tried making invitations but in the end, as it can be so time-consuming to do, they bought their invites online and focused on the craft projects they’d really enjoy. And the ones where Gareth spent a few days covered in glue… oops!

Today’s real wedding is stunning… I do love a good tree. Gorgeous bride Claire and her husband Miles were married in Henley, with the River Thames as the backdrop for their day. The ceremony venue is pretty, welcoming and light. And they enjoyed a boat trip with a proper English pub in the background – pretty much everything about the wedding is perfect for a blog feature!

Cycling themed wedding Henley London with Kevin Belson Photography (28)

Images are by Kevin Belson, who told me Greenlands, Henley Business School, is a spectacular wedding venue with its picturesque setting on the banks of the River Thames. The staff were amazing and the beautiful sunny day made it even better, with guests enjoying drinks and canapes on the riverbank by the dock while waiting for the bride and groom to arrive back on the boat.

Almost every morning you’ll find me on the beach, or in the hills gazing down at the estuary below the village where I live. I have a thing for beach weddings – they’re the most amazing thing ever! I love the portraits of Michael & Sara, especially the black & white images on the sand… they’re gorgeous and this is incredible!

Photographers Emily & Steve told me “The Grand Hotel in Swanage is perched right on a cliff with steps down to the beach! It was stunning and the perfect location for a summer wedding. It was the first wedding we’ve been to where the guests suddenly started to serenade the couple with ‘Love is all around’. They were all swaying their arms and really getting into it! It was so much fun!”
