I love Leah & Brian: she’s absolutely gorgeous and wears her dress like it was made for her, and the beach portraits of them together are divine. They make the loveliest couple and have some really sweet details too: the little hearts on the wishing tree, the flowers (especially that lovely little fern leaf bouquet), and I really love the looks they exchange through the ceremony!

The flowers are sublime: “I wanted a simple bouquet of cream roses with some greenery intertwined and around the edge, which is exactly what I had! For the bridesmaids I wanted something simple but very different from mine, a pop of colour to accentuate the navy! My mum, Hilary and my Aunt, Fliss, arranged the flowers themselves. They also knew exactly what flowers we needed to order, what would look great together, what would be in season, everything! They did such an incredible job! They also made the button holes which were simply wheat sheaths tied with a ribbon. Brian’s was made slightly differently with one of the roses from my bouquet inside his!”

I adore Natalie and Gary’s seaside wedding in Cornwall- the portraits on the beach are fabulous, I adore the light and the setting – and Natalie’s bouquet is stunning! So colourful 🙂 I think you’ll LOVE this so grab a cuppa and enjoy…

Natalie looks incredible in her wedding dress, and all the more so when you read her honest thoughts about dress shopping – I just LOVE the advice Natalie has shared in her English Wedding Blog interview.

I didn’t fall in love with my wedding dress until the day! All I can say is… What you think you want, probably won’t be what you go with! Be open to styles, trust those around you too. I must’ve tried on 70 dresses… I became dress blind… I was fed up… I was fussy…
It’s such a huuuuge thing, that every time I thought I’d found the one, I slept on it then hated it the next day. I was fixated on dresses with a high neck line, I didn’t want lots of detail and jewels, and I didn’t want to spend more than £1200…

Glenn and Pen celebrated their wedding over a full weekend, with a wonderfully chic ceremony on the Saturday and a colourful, traditional, vibrant party at Bradbourne House on the Sunday. I LOVE it all – from the fleet of vintage cars (how cool?!) to the henna tattoos, paisley patterns and Pen’s stunning dresses. I know you will too! Pen’s advice for other couples, and supplier recommendations, are an unmissable read: do take some time to read her interview at the end of today’s feature.

Pen and Glenn’s two celebrations were fabulously different, but both absolutely stunning. Pen says their English wedding was full of surprises for guests, a magical, emotional, fairytale day. To compliment the venue which was within a Norman church set amongst the beautiful Kent countryside they opted for a rather vintage style, a convoy of classic cars and their owners arranged as carriages for guests and the wedding party – and they wore non traditional wedding outfits.

Hey lovely! I have a wonderfully special and pretty day to share with you this morning – I love the details of Charlotte and Andy’s wedding: the bouquet is stunning, I love her hair, and the whole day just looks like SO much fun! The lighting in the evening is really gorgeous too. It’s the perfect injection of life and vibrance and fun for our Thursday mornings!

“My bouquet was done by the amazing Lindsey from The White Horse Flower Company, it was rounded and had sweet peas, lilac and roses. It looked and smelt amazing and i had more tears when Lindsey bought it to me in the morning. The bridesmaids carried gypsophila and the flowers girls had gyposhilia flower crowns. We also had a large pedestal arrangement set up in the church which got moved after the ceremony to where we had the wedding breakfast, we also had pew ends.”

I LOVE today’s real wedding! It’s soooo pretty… all the delicate pinks and the fabulous venue work together beautifully. And Alex & Gareth are just gorgeous! It’s just perfect, in every detail. If you’re looking for the prettiest feminine wedding style inspiration, you’ll love this!

For flowers we used Myrtle and Mint. They were absolutely amazing! Charlotte was there to answer I had any questions I had, or me changing my mind on things, right up until the wedding. When the flowers arrived, they were more beautiful than what I had expected. I was blown away. I would recommend them highly.

Our venue was absolutely beautiful in its own right, so it didn’t need much decoration. However, we wanted to make sure we put our own stamp on our day and get our personalities across. We made a giant ‘guest book’ with every guest’s photo printed, that they could sign and write a message to us on. We wanted to do something a little different to the traditional guest book and we loved the idea of our guests coming across old or funny photos of themselves and it being a talking point.

Don’t you just love a really good book? For me it’s fantasy; although I love the nostalgia of childhood books and old Penguin & Ladybird classics. Today’s wedding is gorgeous for its literary theme – and Alex & Adam are the loveliest couple, I’ve been so excited to share their day with you! This is an amazing wedding. The venue is fabulous: I love discovering little secret, tucked away venues with a character and mind all of their own. And the couple are absolutely gorgeous – Alex’s dress is divine; Adam’s smile is superb!

Alex is a Secondary school English teacher and the church was where the famous Victorian poets Elizabeth Barrett and Robert Browning were married beofre eloping to the continent. Therefore the reception was literary themed with book print bunting, books on tables as centre pieces and Penguin style book covers as the table plan. Name cards were Puffin Book cover postcards that were chosen to suit the guests. Adam is an opera singer and the music was heavily important so this was another theme for the ceremony and continued with the best man’s personal song/speech.

I absolutely must share some of Alice & Matt’s advice with you before we see their fabulous images. With every real wedding feature I always ask my brides and grooms to complete a little interview for the blog, and theirs is one of the very best I’ve ever received. The advice for you lovely lot is superb:

What’s the best thing about being married?

The knowledge that we have made a life long commitment to each other has further strengthened our relationship.
The comfort in knowing you are loved and loved back.
You’ve married your best friend.
Seeing the ring on his finger, and knowing I put it there, gives me butterflies every time.

I love today’s wedding: the bright colours and gorgeous styling of Jodi and James’s vintage garden party, in the beautifully restored Farbridge barns, are just glorious. And the bride and groom are the loveliest, happiest couple ever – they look just fabulous too!

Images are by lovely Neil Walker, who is based in Sussex and loves Farbridge! “I shoot weddings at Farbridge quite regularly & it is definitely one of my favourite venues. Nickie & the team there are great & the light is wonderful in the courtyard & even in the barn where there are lots of windows, unusually for a barn. To cap it all, Simon the chef makes wonderful food, definitely the best food of any venue I know, & that’s saying something!”

Real wedding at Maidens Barn Essex by Ayshea Goldberg Photography (11)

Maidens Barn is located in Essex countryside, it’s a rural location and is a hidden gem.  It’s surrounded by tranquil space and farmland.  Because it’s so secluded and peaceful, it gives the feel that there’s nothing else going on in the world on your wedding day – which is exactly how you should feel. It’s beautiful and has a wonderful courtyard which can be used as one of the many scenic backdrops too.

This wedding was just so pretty – I love vintage styles and Jess and James had brought in a styling company that specialise in vintage props.  Jess and James had carefully selected small accents and larger props that reflected what they wanted their wedding day to look like, and in the rustic barn setting it worked so well.

Oh I do, more than anything else in the world, love to be beside the seaside. It’s home for me… and so seaside weddings make my heart sing! This one is all kinds of wonderful… and it’s deliciously different. We’re talking seaside chic, ultra modern and arty backdrops, and so many of those little moments (watch out for the smaller guests – they’re awesome!) which make every wedding unique. LOVE this!!!

So many things made this day memorable, from the seaside location to the venue and to the couple themselves – seriously, such lovely people, and they really made me feel like part of the day. Also, Ian’s speech was fantastic – I don’t think I’ve seen someone so nervous, and yet pull off the speech so well! He couldn’t stay in one place and look at Annabel without being close to tears, so he had to keep moving and it made for a really lovely moment, which had everyone close to tears themselves!

Real wedding in Somerset photography by Jennifer Sinclair (19)

We didn’t have a theme as such…. Our key priority was having all the people there who we loved and who had looked out for us. Next it was making sure that we had really good food and drink. We both love cooking…and wine….as do our friends! We wanted our reception to feel like a big family meal, with our friends and family passing food around, chatting and enjoying. We went for a bit of an English-Italian fusion….. local Somerset Salami and buffalo mozzarella, Italian Parmesan, (local) Roast Beef and salads and our favourite wines that remind us of holidays.”

Coco Chanel said “Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance” – and today’s wedding is simply perfect.

Cadhay was decorated with the most beautiful country garden flowers in jars and  vases by In Bloom. Jane wore a beautiful ivory dress from La Bella Bridal  while Jon was wearing a dashing blue suit by Hugo Boss of Dukes and looked very handsome indeed.
