Hello! Welcome to one of the most romantic blog posts I’ve ever shared on English Wedding Blog. You’re about to cry, I promise – but in a lovely way – as you watch Derek and Sarah’s wedding film.

I was having a quick chat with Charlene from Love Gets Sweeter when she showed me this little gem – of all her recent weddings this is the most romantic and beautiful day. I had to share it with all of you lovely blog readers! Sarah is beautiful. Derek will win you over and together they’ll make you want to get married right NOW!

Sarah and Derek’s Highlights from Love Gets Sweeter on Vimeo.

Sarah has been so generous with her wedding report for the blog as well – from the proposal (and once again, Derek you Rock!) to the wedding day and this lovely couple’s wedding supplier recommendations – this is fantastic. Over to Sarah and Derek…

I have a blog post by one of my lovely sponsors to share with you today. As the days get colder I think it’s the perfect time to introduce Wrapor’s winter wedding cover ups. Picture the scene: you wake up and peer out of the window on the morning of your wedding day (in December). There’s a light dusting of snow. Do you panic, or smile because there’s a cosy bridal shrug hanging by your wedding dress? That’s right – you’re a savvy bride. You feel smug, because you know you’ll be snug in your gorgeous bridal shrug…

I’ll hand over to Kay to tell you more!

Winter wedding cover ups by Wrapor

There is no denying it, winter is definitely on its way. Winter weddings are becoming increasingly popular and choosing a winter wedding can have its bonuses. There is usually a wider choice of dates available for the better venues and suppliers, so couples get to choose exactly what they want.

Today’s charming and romantic tea party wedding blog has ideas even I’m going to use! You’ll love this: Catherine wears Tabitha by Charlotte Balbier, and John and his groomsmen are in kilts… tea party wedding by Pixies in the Cellar (47)

The venue is decorated with jars and lace, pearls and stationery with beautiful type – so many tea party wedding ideas to inspire your own big day. I’m guessing Hobbycraft will be sold out of lace by teatime!

Catherine and John chose the brilliantly-named Pixies in the Cellar to photograph their wedding. Their big day was at Hargate Hall just outside Buxton in Derbyshire. It’s a dream of a wedding day with vintage styling, gorgeous little details and creative ideas. Watch out for the bridesmaids, the girls on the stairs (so cute!), and all the lovely vintage bottles – I need some of these!

With thanks to Catherine and John for the wedding report, and to Pixies in the Cellar (always makes me smile!) for their Hargate Hall wedding photography. This is truly beautiful – enjoy!

A real wedding for you today – and I think for once I might just have to use the word “quintessential” (sorry!)… From the ancient church to the marquee in a field, children playing and vintage details, this is a gorgeous day I know you’ll enjoy.

UK wedding blog Tony Gameiro Photography (18)

David and Rebecca were married at Minster-in-Thanet, Kent. They chose a chocolate and ivory theme, and the day was relaxed, informal and fun. Highlights for me are those “5 small beautiful little monkeys” mentioned in their wedding report; Rebecca’s look – from her hair to her gorgeous wedding dress; and the handmade details of the day. That said, I love it all… and I hope you will too.

The photography is by lovely Kent wedding photographer Tony Gameiro, and David and Rebecca have written a fantastic wedding report to share with us. Enjoy!

Who proposed, and how?

David proposed in front of all of my friends and family at my 30th birthday. Completely unexpected and beautiful

rustic wedding ideas (24)Jody and Richard’s wedding was held at The Stables at Cross Butts in Whitby, a family-run wedding venue with the option of having a civil ceremony outdoors. They created a lovely theme with rustic details, and their wedding day was full of gorgeous ideas with a relaxed, natural atmosphere.

Yesterday I featured the bridal preparations and outdoor wedding ceremony on English Wedding Blog, and today I’d like to share all the details of the day with you. Jody and Richard worked so hard to create a beautiful day, and I know any couples out there planning a similar day will be inspired by their wedding decor.

How would you describe your wedding style?

We wanted our wedding to fit in with the venue which is described as “Where Country meets Town”, and we wanted a rustic and natural feel.

I love Jody and Richard’s wedding for the atmosphere they created. Their wedding was held at The Stables at Cross Butts in Whitby, a family-run wedding venue with the option of having a civil ceremony outdoors. They created a lovely theme with rustic detailing… it’s a gorgeous celebration I know you’ll enjoy.

Richard and Jody chose award-winning Derbyshire wedding photographers HBA Photography to capture their day. Photographers Ben and Hannah Appleby described Cross Butts as “a great wedding venue with one of the best marquees we’ve ever seen and it was so well decorated – an immense amount of effort from Jody & Rich and really worth it!

I’ll hand over to Jody and Richard to tell the story of their day, and leave you to enjoy the images by HBA Photography which go so well with the theme and style of this beautiful wedding.

You are all making my heart melt this month with your proposal stories – truly, every real wedding blog submission is bringing me close to happy tears! Hannah and Dave’s wedding report begins with their own proposal story – and all I’ll say is: imagine how Hannah felt as that particular day unfolded. It’s wonderful!

Their wedding is another very special day full of love for family and friends, with a relaxed and deliriously happy feel to it – the wedding photographs from Taylor Barnes Photography (based in Bristol) really capture the emotions of the day (and some gorgeous details too!) – while Hannah and Dave’s wedding report captures the excitement and is guaranteed to bring a big soppy smile to your face! (I’m doing mine now!)

You’ll love this real wedding blog – with the most stunning bride in Maggie Sottero ‘Tracey’ and her adoring (and handsome!) groom who just doesn’t stop smiling all day – it’s an amazing day and I’m so glad to be sharing this wedding with you today.

I think Naomi and Elric are a wonderful couple – individual, glamorous, quirky, creative and exciting. Their wedding is fabulous: from Naomi’s stunning outfit and captivating smile to Elric’s inspired choice of wedding reading and their shared wedding report this is a feature I’m proud to have on English Wedding Blog today! I do hope you love it too.

Isn't Naomi gorgeous?!

The wedding venue is Birmingham’s Highbury Hall; the images are all by Midlands-based wedding photographers Rob and Sarah Gillespie. I want to rush right in to Naomi and Elric’s wedding report – it’s one of very few I’ve ever had where the bride and groom have written their wedding story together – and so, it’s very special.

Enjoy!

wedding photography blog (8)Anyone who knows me at all will be chuckling already – I couldn’t possibly say no to a wedding from The Blazing Donkey* now, could I?! This is John and Lynette’s wedding day, and it happens to be a really lovely wedding with lots of personal touches and a fantastic couple who created something really special with a 1950s wedding theme.

Allison from Reading-based Magic Photography submitted this wedding for my blog. She’s also a friend of the bride – who is a photographer too! – so the intimate moments here are truly relaxed and I feel like I’m leafing through John and Lynette’s wedding album as a friend – all of the photographs are so natural and lovely.

Lynette looks beautiful with her birdcage veil. I adore all the little details she got together and (as well as the name of the venue) I think you’ll chuckle at the location… watch for the sign!

Rebecca and Stephen’s November wedding in a village in Cumbria combines warmth and style wonderfully. It’s one of those heart-warming days where the smiles from the bride and groom just get to you – I knew when I saw this wedding on Simon Hudspeth Photography’s blog I had to share it with you.

Rebecca wrote a lovely wedding report as well – the title I used for the blog post is from Rebecca’s own story! Her next line made me giggle though… but let’s start at the beginning and that will come later.

My wedding dress is Ian Stuart – Inez – Bought from ‘I Do’ in Cockermouth, Cumbria. The dress was made with French lace in a Champagne colour. I would recommend this Bridal shop as they really cared about how I wanted to look and helped me achieve the ‘style’. They were brilliant.

The pearl necklace was my Grandmothers and is 60 years old. They were an anniversary present from my Grandad to my Grandmother and I still have the original gift box they came in.

Did you love Nicola and Chris’s wedding on the blog yesterday? I bet you did… although did I perhaps made you a bit angry when I left you partway through, with our gorgeous bride and groom on the way to their wedding reception?! Hee!

It’s ok – they’re back on English Wedding blog this morning with more fabulous pics from wedding photographer Andy Hook, and Nicola’s words are going to make you all tingly – quite possibly to bring a little tear to your eye too.

Enjoy.

Following the service, we did some pictures outside and on a nearby bridge, then headed towards home. We went for some pictures on the way with Andy the photographer, then arrived back to the guests in my dads open top classic car, which I sat up on the back of with a glass of bubbles in hand as we drove in! The party was in full swing, the bubbles and pimms were flowing and people were loving the games!

I did a secret little smile when this wedding came in – while it’s become trendy to talk about the end of vintage as a mass market phenomenon, for some couples the whole vintage theme fits like a glove – and Nicola and Chris do vintage their way, very very beautifully indeed.

wedding blog images by Andy Hook (24)

Yorkshire wedding photographer Andy Hook submitted the pictures for English Wedding blog – thanks Andy! – and Nicola wrote a wedding report for me to share with you all. It’s one of the best wedding reports I’ve seen – let alone been able to feature on my blog!

Without further ado (as they said, I believe, in ye olde vintage eras…) here’s Nicola and Chris’s gorgeously creative…

Chris and I are very influenced by vintage 1930’s – 40’s style, in the furniture we buy, the clothes we wear and even in the new business that we are setting up (a prohibition style jazz bar in Chelsea). We really wanted to reflect this style in our day.
