Hello lovelies! I hope you’re having a nice week – anything exciting planned for the weekend, anyone? I’m feeling ever so loved-up this morning as Jayne and Steven’s English Wedding Blog report is just wonderful. So rather than me wittering on, I’m going to share a quote from today’s beautiful bride Jayne to introduce today’s real wedding on the blog:

Enjoy every minute of your wedding day. Because once you get to that point, none of the planning etc. matters, just the day when you get married to your best friend and sharing it with those nearest and dearest to you. Remember the feeling of the whole day, the nerves, the joy, the laughter. Hold on to the moments when it is just the two of you, but also soak up the feeling of being surrounded by all the people you love the most in the same room there to celebrate your love. It’s pretty darn amazing – you won’t remember everything, it will fly by and you will want to relive it over and over – but that is what the photos and videos are for. Life will return to a form of normality afterwards, but if you hold on to that feeling, it will forever make you smile.

Hello everyone! I hope you’ve had an amazing week. It’s been busy here – I promise I’ll show you some of the wedding calligraphy I’ve been working on, as soon as I can upload the images… I even missed a day on English Wedding Blog last week as I was writing so much! (whistles… did anyone notice it went quiet last Thursday?! Oops!)

Bristol wedding by Joseph Hall Photography (1)

Anyway, it’s been a brilliant couple of weeks for wedding submissions and one I loved most was from the very lovely Joseph Hall. I know you’ll love Simon and Gemma’s Bristol wedding – it’s simple and elegant and the images are wonderful. They’ll make you smile too: I don’t often say this, but watch out for the gorilla!

Simon and Gemma shared their wedding report at the end of today’s feature so do have a read, and leave a comment if you can! Congratulations to a bride and groom who are both gorgeous and generous for sharing their big day on the blog, and my thanks to wedding photographer Joseph Hall for the submission. Enjoy! Claire xxx

After pleading my case for English stately homes vs French chateaux last week it seems like the perfect time to look at an English castle wedding. Amy and Dan’s big day was beautiful – a relaxed wedding in Cornwall at Pendennis Castle. Talk about a stunning venue – this is really pretty amazing.

I love how their wedding has a style rather than a theme. It seems a lovely way to make the day’s styling very personal: to choose things you both love rather than going for a single colour or theme and finding things to fit in. Amy looks absolutely gorgeous, and she and Dan created their very own magical day – it works a treat!

The images are by wedding photographer Alan Law, and Amy and Dan have shared their wedding story at the end of the blog post today. I loved reading it – especially the surprise mentioned in the title. You won’t want to miss it, I promise! I gasped and had a tear in my eye when I read it myself!

I’m always awestruck by the time and effort that goes into planning a wedding, so reading that Melissa designed her own wedding dress really impressed me! Add in all the creative touches to this beautiful English wedding and this is instantly a blog favourite.

The gorgeous couple have the most romantic story and their wedding is simply wonderful too. Watch out for the cutest leaf name place settings, apple menu holders, flower jars with rustic twine, log table numbers and the burlap seating plan… all out of this world. The highlight of course has to be Melissa’s dress – I know you’ll love it.

Congratulations to the lovely Melissa and Jamie, and thank you to Shaun Taylor Photography for submitting their wedding for us all to share today. Enjoy! Claire xxx

I really love this vintage wedding from Bartle Hall in Lancashire – as soon as I saw Jemma and Paul on their photographer Philip Bamber‘s website I knew it was perfect for the English Wedding Blog. You’ll love this…

With a floral table plan, birdcages and pretty details inspired by a vintage theme, as well as the loveliest Benjamin Roberts dress, Jemma and Paul’s wedding is ever so pretty. The photography is gorgeous and you can see more by clicking the link at the end of their wedding report.

Congratulations Jemma and Paul, and thank you Philip Bamber for submitting such a beautiful wedding for me and my readers. Enjoy! Claire xxx

One of the reasons English Wedding Blog was born (way back in 2009!) was to celebrate every aspect of weddings in this country – from stately homes and elegance to quirky styles and English creativity and contemporary crafts. I really do love how we do weddings here – because they’re always special, beautiful and personal. Today I’m pleased to share Lucie and Chris’s wedding with you all. The gorgeous couple married in London, with a ceremony at Old Marylebone Town Hall and their reception at The Swan at The Globe.

There’s a tear in my eye already – it can be quite emotional, being a wedding blogger! With every wedding submission that lands in my inbox I wait for the photo which ‘gets me’ – in this case it was Leanne’s expression as Callum gave his speech which brought that tear.

I know you’ll love today’s wedding blog – it’s special because Leanne and Callum had a very personal wedding. I always ask couples to describe their wedding style, and their answer was sweet and simple: “our own!

The images are by reportage wedding photographer Adam Riley. My huge thanks to Adam, and to Leanne and Callum for sharing your wedding story with us today. Congratulations to an amazing couple! Everyone – enjoy! Claire xxx

A little about the wedding ceremony:

We got married at the venue in front of a huge stone hearth surrounded by plants grown by our friend James, including giant sunflowers in pots, grasses and wild flowers. The ceremony itself was short but meaningful… just the way we wanted it.

Hello everyone! Today is all about David and Steph, whose wedding breaks a few of the old-fashioned rules about all the things you ‘have to have’ for your wedding day. This fantastic couple chose one wedding supplier (only!), used kids’ invitations, didn’t have readings, and created an elegant wedding without spending a fortune. I love everything about their intimate wedding in Manchester and can’t wait to share it with you today!

Manchester wedding blog Phil Drinkwater (1)

All of the images are by my friend and wedding blog sponsor Phil Drinkwater Photography. Words are by Steph and David, and their story is a very romantic one indeed. I love the ‘marry me’ image, and the mention of David Hasselhoff in their ‘memorable moments’… classic. Enjoy! Claire xxx

James and Katherine’s big day is all about timeless elegance. This couple chose a luxury Surrey wedding venue (Botley’s Mansion) to host their day, and the wedding reception was all about delicate golden colours and beautiful, traditional styling.

Surrey wedding blog Karen Flower Photography (2)

Katherine describes their day as “An elegant and stylish wedding with a tasteful presence of gold, ivory and sparkle detail that provided a backdrop for the rich and colourful accents seen in the grand reception flower arrangements.” It most certainly is – and I think this wedding shows one of our most luxurious stately home wedding venues at it’s very best.

The photography is by lovely reportage wedding photographer Karen Flower, and Katherine and James have shared their wedding story with you today as well – it starts about a third of the way down the page. Enjoy – and be inspired! Claire xxx

There’s a little clue in the title of today’s wedding blog for you. This is a very bright wedding, an absolutely fantastic theme and a blog post to make you grin from ear to ear in delight.

Emily and Alan are a great couple – full of fun and creativity. And while Emily is stunning in her Jasmine Couture wedding dress, Alan steals the show in a bright. yellow. suit. (There’s a photo to watch out for with a handwritten note from Emily: “I love you even though you look like a bowl of custard”! which is wonderful! Seriously though – he looks great, and everything about today’s wedding blog is brilliant. Literally!

The photos are by Dorset wedding photographer Paul Underhill, who contacted me a few weeks ago and told me that Alan had changed into the canary yellow suit partway through the wedding to surprise all the guests. What a fab idea! The yellow and blue theme continues throughout the day and I love all the details and styling of the marquee as well. The photos look amazing!

Morning everyone! We’re half way through the week – and I’m delighted to have such lovely real weddings to share with you this week. We’re definitely full-on vintage this week with yesterday’s vintage military wedding and today’s fabulously delicate and beautiful celebration – I know you’ll love this.

Isle of Wight wedding by Jason Mark Harris photography (1)

Laura and Paul were married in the Isle of Wight, and their photographer was Jason Mark Harris. I adore the flowers – delicious sweet peas and peonies – and all the pretty locations at the Albert Cottage Hotel. It goes without saying that Laura looks breathtakingly beautiful and Paul is gorgeous too! Laura styled the wedding and made all of her own stationery and everything looks simply amazing – so there’s plenty of inspiration to be had here. Grab a cuppa and enjoy – this is a wonderful wedding and I’m sure you’ll love it!
