I love ‘English country garden’ as a wedding theme. I love rustic, country weddings. I love seeing couples strolling through fields and woodlands, and down country lanes… but more than any of that, I love it when that countryside is so obviously home.

Happy Saturday lovely people! I hope you have a wonderful day planned – we’re in Manchester after an amazing concert last night, and heading back on the train to our lovely Lake District very soon. But first – I wanted to show you something really inspiring and gorgeous and fun: a beautifully lit, romantic wedding in Mexico. If you’re lucky enough to have a summer wedding outdoors in the UK, how about some amazing lighting like this to make your evening reception spectacular?!

Laura and James were married at Yorkshire’s gorgeous Cubley Hall, in the summer. Their day is perfect: captured in a beautiful fine art style, with the whimsical wedding details I love so very much. The flowers are divine – oh, those peonies! and Laura looks more than amazing in a beautiful wedding dress from designer Emma Tindley.
Images are by lovely Yorkshire wedding photographer Samantha Ward – a friend of mine from the beginning of the English Wedding Blog in 2009 and an exceptional talent in the industry. Sam’s images are out of this world – do take the time to discover her work here: See more...
Suki and Patrick’s wedding is a blast of colour to brighten all of our days: their fabulous sunflowers, vibrant pink and purple hydrangeas and exciting summer florals are so perfect! They take me right back to those long summer days and warm evenings where the sunset lasts forever…

Caroline and Rob’s wedding is a classic, combining the loveliest of winter styling with a little colour and English charm. Their day at Old Down Manor is elegant and romantic, and I have been looking forward to sharing it with you! I hope you love it as much as I do.
“Flowers were by Becci Hobbs at Bijoux Floral Design (http://bijouxfloral.co.uk/). I wanted the flowers to fit in with the overall Winter theme so we had a mixture of pale pinks, silvers and blues with some pine cones. It was beautiful.”
