Hey lovelies! Are you having a nice week? I’m a little black-Fridayed-OUT already, is it just me? My inbox is bursting!!! I have so many lovely things to share with you for the rest of this week though, I’m so excited!

Today we welcome lovely Hampshire wedding photographer Emily Black to English Wedding. I’m more than thrilled to have a handful of weddings from Emily lined up to share with you over the coming months – you’re going to love them, as her images are just STUNNING! Emily’s style is modern, natural and romantic – she combines the best aspects of documentary (or reportage) photography with just a little creative direction for your couple shots.

Hey lovelies! How many of you have thought about your confetti moment? If you’ve planned it, you’re an amazing genius and we salute you. (There might still be some brilliant tips here you can use!) If you haven’t really thought about it much, or you’re assuming your guests will just bring some confetti on the day, then read on. Because confetti is the funnest wedding tradition of all. It makes for amazing photos, it involves all of your guests, makes everyone laugh and smile, guarantees a few comedy moments and can be as beautiful as it is unforgettable… if you get it right.

If your spouse to be is out on their bike this Sunday afternoon, then this is for YOU! If you’ve both been cycling today and you’re relaxing after an exhilarating day in the saddle, then you’re going to love this more than anything you’ve ever seen on a wedding blog. Natalie and James – who’s a keen cyclist! – had a cycling themed wedding in August, and incorporated some ingenious styling touches into their day. They chose Rockbeare Manor wedding photographer Martin Dabek to capture the day so beautifully! I love the bicycle wheels with foliage on the walls, the table plan with a shelf full of cyclists… actually I love the whole day. And can we skip straight to that cake?!! The beautiful cake was made by Yvonne at Cherry Blossom Cakes and decorated with flowers by Emma at Brompton Buds.

Should you polish your wedding? An odd question, I know – but think with me for a moment. In these days of Instagramming our lives and sharing only the carefully planned, tidy, and perfect sides of ourselves I kind of miss seeing photos that make me feel something. A gorgeous line of bridesmaids, a pristine wedding gown or a messy bouquet are all glorious to see on insta… but amongst all the wedding pretty, I love seeing a photo which will make me laugh out loud, scroll back up for another look or even identify with the people in the frame. And that has to be a real, spontaneous, unpolished wedding photograph.

Are you having a lovely, cosy, lazy Sunday? I’m covered in paint and supping hot chocolate… we’re painting our living room white and it’s looking like a whole new house, but oh my arms are sore! So I thought… time for a little treat on English Wedding. I am SO LUCKY to know such amazing wedding photographers all around the UK. The very best are English Wedding members, whose weddings I’m excited to share on the blog regularly… and I couldn’t be happier to tell you that Dorset photographer Robin Goodlad has joined us this month! Robin’s images are absolutely beautiful – but I will hand over to the man himself to tell you all about his documentary wedding photography, and his approach to capturing your day. Robin – welcome!
