A sense of normality returns to English Wedding Blog HQ as I have one of the loveliest weddings of the year to share with you. David and Jodie’s art deco inspired Norfolk wedding is just so beautiful… The bride is stunning; the groom looks fabulous, the atmosphere shines through their images. You’ll love every moment!

Such an amazing wedding blog only gets better with brilliant advice from the bride and groom. “Don’t try to save money, but don’t spend more than you need to.  My advice is set a budget and work to it. If you can’t afford it, then don’t do it/have it.  Focus on the main areas and spend as much as you can afford on the important parts.”

Beautiful bride Jodie told me many of their wedding suppliers were recommended by their venue, St Giles House Hotel: the flowers and entertaiment, for example. She already knew of the bridal boutique where she found her gorgeous dress, and said everything else was scoured via the internet, such as invites, place cards, place card holders etc. On the day stationery was beautifully homemade, and Jodie was glued to Etsy & Pinterest for favour ideas!

Every time I feature a real wedding on the English Wedding Blog I ask the bride and groom to complete a little interview for me, and I ask about their theme, their suppliers and for any advice they’d like to give other couples. Last week I was reminded by one of the interviews that so many couples either wish they’d had a wedding film, or are so relieved they chose to book a videographer (even if it’s often at the last minute).

Nicole and Josh must be thrilled with their wedding film. The highlights show how madly in love this gorgeous bride and groom are. It’s all about love for family too: Nicole’s sister’s speech is a highlight, and Grandma is such a star too! Their outdoor wedding shows how fabulous the English weather can be… and I wanted to share it with you today as a reminder of how brilliant this summer is going to be.

I have a little treat for you all this fine Sunday morning – one of the loveliest real weddings I’ve seen in a while, with touches of old Hollywood glamour and exquisite photography at  Norfolk’s magnificent Narborough Hall Gardens.

Laura is beautiful; a glamorous, graceful bride. Her perfect partner is Simon, every bit the movie hero to Laura’s romantic heroine. And they really do have it all: a fabulous wedding, superbly styled with love and laughter in every one of their beautiful images. My personal highlight? Laura’s advice to think back to other weddings and decide from there what’s most important; also, to keep an open mind when you go dress shopping. Believe it or not, this stunning Sassi Holford dress wasn’t the kind of style Laura had in mind at first!

I owe huge thanks to Rob Dodsworth Photography for sharing his images of their day with us all. Do take the time to visit Rob’s website and blog, especially if you’re near Norfolk – he’s pretty amazing:

Becci used Pinterest to plan her spring wedding to Danny, styling a homemade but classic day with a touch of vintage. She’s a beautiful bride, and shares some wonderful moments from the day in her wedding report at the end of the feature. The venue is Southwood Hall in Norfolk, an exclusive venue on a family run farm. It’s lovely!

Becci’s advice is wonderful: “It will be the only day in your life that you are likely to have everyone that matters to you all in the same place at the same time. Enjoy that. Enjoy the different groups of friends and family mixing as they are all there for a united purpose.” This is very true – I’ve heard lots of couples giving the same advice. And there’s more from Becci in the wedding report at the end of today’s real wedding feature so don’t miss it!

There’s also a brilliant funny moment: the registrar accidentally read Danny’s Dad’s name instead of Danny’s… which had everyone laughing! Luckily Becci married the right guy and the day was a beautiful success!

Gorgeous bride Jenna and new hubby Oliver took on a mammoth task when they bought a beautiful country home, renovated it and then held their wedding in the garden just 5 months later! But what a glorious way to celebrate a marriage… their English country garden wedding is so charming and has tons of inspiring little homemade touches from friends and family.

English wedding blog Beth Moseley Photography (1)Jenna and her mother in law created miles of homemade bunting from vintage fabrics sourced from charity shops – a wonderful use for all those preloved old curtains and bedspreads 🙂 as well as recruiting the entire family to collect vintage crockery from charity shops and car boots, on which a delicious afternoon tea was served!

Today’s real bride Melanie has one of those smiles which light up a room – she’s such a stunning bride and the images from her Norfolk wedding to James are wonderful.

Norfolk wedding photography by Rob Dodsworth (1)

I adore a seaside wedding – Melanie’s top tip for other couples is to “Enjoy every second – it’s over in a flash!  Do something special away from the crowd – Rob, our photographer, took Jim and I down to the beach and it was lovely to have some alone time with Jim!  I really remember that being special.” It most certainly looks like a magical and romantic moment when you see the images!

It tickles me that today’s fab couple Sam and Hannah used Midsomer Murders as inspiration for their wedding in Norfolk. I love that little step further from vintage they’ve taken to create a beautifully styled and very English wedding. It really fires my imagination as well… how many TV-themed weddings can you imagine? Poirot? Blue Peter? I think it’s a great idea!

Norfolk wedding blog by Lifeline Photography (1)

Lenwade House was the setting for what turned out to be a wonderful wedding day with lovely styling and some beautiful moments. Both bride and groom look gorgeous and I know you’ll adore today’s real wedding on the blog. Thanks to Lifeline Photography – the very amazing Hannah Webster – for sharing images with us all today. (You absolutely have to check out lifelinephotography.co.uk where you’ll see Hannah change into a peacock!)

There are tons of ideas in today’s real wedding for you to take home and use as inspiration for your own wedding. Looking for a John Cleese impersonator? (Of course you were!) You’ll find him in the list of recommended wedding suppliers Hannah and Sam have included in their wedding report at the end of the blog! Enjoy. Claire xxx

That’s not to mention the lovely styling and blue colour tones, another reason I selected this wedding to share with you on the blog today. I’ve learned a few things from Lizzie – Eryngium, anyone? Beautiful. (There’s a clue in the photo above!)

Thank you to wedding photographer Jo Garlike from Summer Love Photography for today’s submission, and my warmest congratulations to the very gorgeous Lizzie and Chris! Everyone – enjoy! Claire xxx
