I LOVE a local wedding! Living on the edge of the Lake District is a dream. We’re there every weekend exploring the mountains (and valleys, right now!) and the landscape never fails to take my breath away. Needless to say, it’s my favourite place for weddings and so sharing Jen & Alex’s day with you today is soooo exciting! Most of all I love their day for its relaxed and elegant vibe. Beautiful bride Jen’s dress is non-traditional…. stunningly slinky with a daring thigh split and incredible back detail, it’s by Atelier Pronovias. Alex looks fantastic in chinos and a classic white shirt (because suits are NOT a rule…. or if they are, they’re the first rule to break! I love this look!) The gorgeous couple chose a few of my favourite suppliers for their day: lovely Helen Jane Smiddy was their photographer; Kevin from Brackens of Bowness (“the unofficial god of flowers”) provided their amazing florals, and talented Charlotte of Sugar Ruffles designed their gorgeous wedding cake.

Welcome to (nearly) the weekend, everyone! I hope you’ve enjoyed a little sunshine this week, and are staying safe and well. I’ve been saving up the beautiful wedding of Charles and Emily, which is wonderfully elegant and timeless. The newlyweds are gorgeous: they were married in June at St Giles House in Dorset, with Camilla Arnhold capturing their day. The cake and flowers are just stunning – and the pair look fabulous in a Jesus Peiro dress and tailored suit from Reiss. Enjoy this, lovelies, and have a relaxing weekend.

With love,

The heavens opened halfway through Mila and Paul’s outdoor ceremony… but this amazing couple grinned and got hitched and their day is absolutely beautiful. I love the location – Casa Grande is a historic house with guest accommodation set high above the beautiful twin lakes of Lagoa des Sete Cidades in Portugal – an unforgettable location for a beautiful destination wedding. Mila and Paul booked our friend and top UK destination wedding photographer Damion Mower to capture their day, and the review they left for him (see below) says. it. ALL.

Alex and Anneka are the coolest! They chose East Quay Whitstable as their venue and focused their wedding planning on food, alcohol and music… because “these are the main things that make a great wedding and that your guests will remember!” It’s a brilliant June wedding with a neutral palette and simple, elegant styling touches and florals. We’ve featured East Quay weddings on the blog before now, and it’s a venue which always has that boho beach drifter, cool and quirky vibe. It’s definitely a favourite for English Wedding, and I just know you’ll adore Alex & Anneka’s day!

I think it’s my lucky week. I mean it MUST be – the weddings and shoots we’re sharing are insanely pretty! Then there’s my inbox – and the features we have coming up (with yet more amazing couples) are so exciting! Pinch me, someone! ? … anyways, today we have the BREATHTAKING wedding of Sophie & Elliot, who said their I dos at Sophie’s folks house, with a sperry tent from Papakata providing the loveliest backdrop to their day. Their June wedding was the perfect English country garden celebration (hats off to actually being in an actual English country garden, guys!) with styling and florals vibrant and exotic – even including the food! Sophie’s dress is a bespoke design from English Wedding members TDR Bridal – it’s stunning and she looks incredible.
