Those of you who’ve spent any time at all on the English Wedding Blog will know me for my love of letters. I spend my days writing calligraphy, and teaching the art of beautiful lettering to brides and creative folks at my Manchester workshops. Words are most definitely my thing. (Oh! I’m teaching the last class of the year on the 18th of November. You can book here)
Today’s real wedding, my gorgeous blog-loving friends, is spectacular. If there was a bigger word for spectacular which included amazing, beautiful, creative, artisan, and elegant, I’d be using that word. But sometimes… beauty is too big for any word. Here’s our stunning bride, Jessica. She looks incredible, doesn’t she?!
Jessica married Matthew at one of our favourite venues, the fabulous Launcells Barton in Cornwall.
This is what we at English Wedding Blog HQ call a wow wedding. A wow wedding is when we gasp, shout back at our screens and can’t stop grinning. It’s gorgeous – the images, the bride & groom, the bouquet (double wow!) and the styling of the reception… just amazing!
“I work as a designer so I loved creating the details for our special day. My dad built the chalkboards and easels for me which I decorated with the chalk pens by hand. My parents, brother, aunt, uncle and husband patiently assisted me with with the set up the day before – I knew exactly how I wanted to arrange the table wreaths, candles and vintage bottles and they were so kind to put up with me being obsessive over the placement of everything as I could mere have completed it in time myself!”
Today’s Cotswolds wedding is all kinds of beautiful – and a flashback to those long summer days and gorgeous golden sunny evenings… with a dash of fun and fabulous styling and sooo many ideas you’re going to fall in love with your screen. Grab a cuppa, enjoy the loveliness and have the most amazing Sunday! This will fill your heart with happy for starters…
Our wedding was a mixture of a village fete and a 1930s edwardian carnival. It sort of evolved once I had picked the dress and the invites had been designed. The majority of suppliers were recommendations from Facebook, Pinterest and trawling through the internet.
This is all TOO beautiful. If you’re here, then you’re so lucky to be reading the English Wedding Blog on what must be our most amazing month ever. (And I’ve been blogging here for… ooh a very long 82 whole months now!) Seriously – this is one of the loveliest weddings yet: full of ideas, amazingly pretty and beautifully photographed.
