I love today’s real wedding blog – the peonies, the lens flare, the castle… the details are simple but the overall look is so elegant and beautiful. And Lulworth Castle is fabulous… the interior is perfectly imperfect and would lend itself to a modern, almost urban wedding style as gracefully as it does to today’s wonderfully feminine & romantic theme…

“The wedding flowers were pink peonies, gypsophilia, all very pretty and pink! We went for tall table arrangements at the castle as it helped to draw the eye upwards into the beautiful building. Our florist was Christine Browne of Floral Arts in Weymouth, she knows the castle inside out so knew what would work. Pink peonies were really my only request and although we discussed it all, we left it to her to do a great job for us. Trust them – they know what works!”

I have a little treat for you this Sunday morning… so stay snuggled up with a cuppa and enjoy this pretty country garden celebration from Eastclose Hotel in the New Forest – the flowers are gorgeous, and Kerrie-Ann is breathtaking in her Suzanne Neville gown from Brides of Winchester.

Images are by Jake Moore Photography, who told me “having been to school with Kerrie-Ann it made it so much easier for me to shoot her day plus go more unnoticed than usual as a photographer. I felt more like a guest than at work! The venue is perfect for weddings and each time I go there it gets better with more detail added. The weather always helps as the grounds are too beautiful to miss out on a wedding day.”

Lovely Hayley from Brides of Winchester loves Suzanne Neville’s designs: “Kerrie-Ann looks ah-mazzing in Willow by Suzanne Neville, a stunning corded lace fishtail with beautiful buttons down the back, which she teamed to perfection with a sparkly cathedral length Helen Martin veil and Ivory and Co headpiece.”

Today’s wedding will have you grinning happily at your screen and pinning to your heart’s content! I love the evening shots with all the sunshine – in fact the whole wedding looks fabulous. (I didn’t know that many people could get on the roof of a Landrover…!!) More to the point though, I love the festival vibe, the details shots of the flowers, bunting and sparkly lights. I adore Aimee and Tom – they look gorgeous, and amazing together. This is wedding blog gold, guys!

This was the sort of wedding which as photographer I call a gift – an incredibly happy couple, a stunning venue, and above all a really relaxed and fun feel where the day just flows, and magical moments continuously present themselves. Aimee and Tom were so happy together, and the atmosphere was infectious, with all their young friends having such a good time. I felt completely absorbed in the day, and stayed right till the end!

The styling touches and details are deliciously subtle and mix soft pastels for a chic country theme. Lucy and Alex are both so, so gorgeous – and the loveliest thing is their choice of wedding location.

Happy Monday morning, you lovely lot! I hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend and I wanted to start our week with something extraordinarily wonderful… a real wedding I’ve had stashed up my sleeve for a little while now, and one I love so, so much! Chrissi and Tom’s wedding is unique for their dramatic images by the ruins of Corfe Castle. Their wedding was photographed by fabulous Dorset wedding photographers Linus Moran and associate photographer Chris Gorman at Linus Moran Photography.

The energy of the couple, their relationship both between them and their gathered friends and family made the day special for me as photographer. This shone through in the images I captured on the day, with some particular favourites from last year’s shooting arising from their day. Namely the ceremony pictures of the bride and groom upon meeting each other at the altar. The look exchanged between them, the curve of Chrissi’s mouth, a beautiful moment of connection. This coupled with great light, composition and timing – its stands out to me. The exchange between mum and daughter at bridal prep with the two bridemaids looking on, and the series of images we did on the fields across from the ruins of Corfe Castle.

I LOVE today’s pretty outdoor wedding – gorgeous bride and groom Betty and Phil opted for an English country garden style celebration, mixing the prettiest flowers with cute bunting and home made signage – it’s wonderful in every way!

Betty & Phil’s day stood out from others I covered last year as it seemed to be very simple in its delivery. The bride, the details, the location – all very classic, chic and English garden themed. From the Sassi Holford dress, to the idyllic thatched cottage B&B venue at the foothill of St Catherines chapel. The weather was perfect, the scene was stunning and the spirit of the couple and the people topped it all off.

Did you know the English Wedding Blog has been a top UK wedding blog since 2011? Time flies when you’re having fun… and I’m constantly surprised by the new suppliers I discover here. Today it’s an incredible venue: Weymouth’s Nothe Fort, where a group of creative Dorset wedding suppliers got together to style one of the best shoots I’ve seen this year!

Lovely Rachel from Exquisitely You wedding & event specialists got in touch to share the shoot with me. I love the way the pretty details contrast with the backdrop of the fort – an old military base (and while I’m a pacifist through and through, there’s something thrilling in seeing a war base taken over and put to better use!) The cake is divine; the flowers super pretty and the balloons and big letters perfectly on trend for a summer wedding!

Before I show you one of the prettiest weddings of the year so far – and you’ll LOVE it!! – a very quick reminder that I have a dozen sponsor slots left from May. If you’re interested read this and get in touch! But more importantly…

Beautiful English church wedding in Dorset with images by Ian H Photography (42)

Very early on her wedding day morning Kerrie went for a walk in the countryside around Studland village. This is such a lovely thing to do: she told me it was very relaxing and a really memorable moment of the whole day. I think it’s really romantic and a wonderful way to think ahead to the day which will follow.

I love how the venue was decorated: it was a labour of love with family pitching in the day before, and only the second time a wedding reception had taken place in the hall… but Kerrie and Nick truly made it their own and styled a pretty, welcoming and relaxed celebration which I’m thrilled to be sharing with you today!

Hey there beach brides! Today’s feature is for you – from our own fair shores I have a fabulous seaside styled shoot to share. There are ideas here for every girl who’d love a beach wedding – and all from local wedding suppliers too!

Beach bride styling on the Dorset coast with Charlotte Bryer-Ash (25)

Wedding photographer Charlotte Bryer-Ash told me what inspired her to create this shoot, which she planned together with Rachel from Exquisitely You. It’s all about clean, minimal styling with a relaxed seaside feel. I adore the backdrop – a simple timber frame with soft fabric is just perfect for the beach setting.

Beach bride styling on the Dorset coast with Charlotte Bryer-Ash (15)

Being a beach bride means embracing nature. Combine rustic elements for a minimal and relaxed wedding style. Soft colours and textures reflect the romance of the sea. Clair Lythgoe uses a lush peach dahlia as a centrepiece for a stunning bridal bouquet edged with cascading green amaranthus. Opt for wooden cake stands and table decor as the team did on today’s shoot, and be creative with your cake if you’re having one. Twists of raffia complement roses and hydrangeas for a gorgeous design with colours and textures.

It’s been a little while since I featured a castle wedding, and I’d almost forgotten how spectacular they can be! Today – a reminder via one of the best: this is Angela and Shawn’s Lulworth Castle wedding. You will be blown away – it’s incredible.

Lulworth Castle wedding blog (19)

The castle dates back to the 17th century and is fiercely proud of its history – the knight who features throughout today’s blog post will attest to that! (He’s the one with the Mr & Mrs sign between his teeth…) Angela decorated the reception room with hundreds of candles in jam jars and the effect is beautiful.

Kingston Maurward wedding

This is just wonderful! An outdoor wedding in the Dorset sunshine, with a beautiful bride and gorgeous groom and some inspiring details for styling and DIY. I think the theme of Alex and Jonny’s wedding is wonderful: there’s a little of everything from paper poms to vintage books, a fingerprint tree (or is it a hot air balloon in the style of Up?!) and some of the prettiest wedding flowers I’ve ever seen. Wow. Images are by the lovely Howard Lucas Photography

The cream teas look delicious. The lawn games look like so much fun! Photographer Howard Lucas says “after drinks and canapés at Kingston Maurward the bridal party continued onto Herrison Hall in Charlton Down, an absolute gem of a place and a relatively last minute decision. This was the most handsome of settings for guests to enjoy a traditional cream tea and games on the lawn before taking their seats in the carefully set and delightfully depicted reception.
