Today’s wedding is more than amazing – so many breathtaking images and a fabulous wedding report (with equal doses of advice, emotion and chuckles) from beautiful bride Laura.

There is a subtle map theme to the day, but overall the style is relaxed, intimate and LOTS of fun! Laura told me “It was like being in a candy-floss cloud…” and when I asked about her Naomi Neoh dress she said “I put her on (blush pink and softer than angel hair) and did not want to take her off… ever.

I’ve always loved The Belle Epoque as a wedding venue. In the early days of The English Wedding Blog I featured so many weddings there… but it’s been a little while and I’ve missed the place! It’s a quirky boutique venue with tons of character – perfectly fitting for Andrew and Laura.

Images are by lovely wedding photographers Peter and Sara at Pixies in the Cellar. They’re brilliant and come highly recommended so do check them out:

Today’s bride Louise has a smile which could light up any room – she’s stunning. She’s also a real star for writing an amazing wedding report and sharing tips and experiences of her day.

Louise married Gary in April this year, and their Manchester & Cheshire wedding was gorgeous, but not without incident. Louise told me their wedding cake didn’t quite go to plan (read about that later); also there were tears as her Grandad had to go to hospital after a fall on the day but this fantastic family all came together and made the wedding a day to remember.

The styling of the day is beautiful. Louise told me their reception venue – The Pointing Dog in Cheadle – “was perfect as it was all stag horns, crates, cool seating, wooden boards and natural walls. We just added flowers for the tables and a few other bits and pieces“.

I think it’s amazing – but only a fraction as amazing as the couple themselves. Louise and Gary are gorgeous, creative and fun-loving – the perfect bride and groom!

Today’s real wedding features a stunning short-haired brunette, the lovely Charlie, who wears a bird cage veil and Paloma Blanca wedding dress. The stationery is all home made, and yet this wedding at Shrigley Hall in Cheshire looks wonderfully elegant and stylish – you will LOVE it!!

When Charlie first got in touch with me I was so excited – her photos are just stunning, as is she – and just as excitingly her wedding photographer is the lovely Jonny Draper. I’ve featured Jonny’s work on the English Wedding Blog lots of times (more here: http://english-wedding.com/tag/jonny-draper-photography), and I have the biggest admiration for how he works: Jonny’s built his wedding photography business on friendship. Seriously – if you’re getting married in the north west then you need to meet with Jonny for a chat and you’ll see what I mean! Charlie and Dan describe him as ‘incredible‘ – what more do you need to know?!

How many couples incorporate elephant poo into their big day, I wonder?! Today’s gorgeous couple Rebecca and Tom did just that… you’ll have to read their wedding report after the images to find out how! This is a wonderful wedding I know you’ll love… Rebecca had her wedding dress made for her by a specialist dressmaker, and it’s exquisite!

I love how they made their wedding day very personal, welcoming and friendly. The tipis are fab (aren’t they always?!) and other decoration is kept sweet and simple. Tom and Rebecca chose not to have a wedding cake, which makes perfect sense to me as a) they don’t have a sweet tooth and b) if you’re not cake fans it’s a good way to save money for other things!

Oh! And today’s bride and groom are a down to earth couple whose wedding report makes me happy, especially this bit:

What’s the best thing about being married?

That our relationship is exactly the same as it was before we were married!

This wedding is a treat – a magical celebration full of character and style, and the most amazing images I know you’ll love! It sounds as exciting as it looks, with thunder and lightning, hailstorms and finally sparklers to end the day as beautifully as it began. The bride and groom – one of the loveliest couples I’ve seen on the blog this year! – are gorgeous Mish and Jai. Images are by lovely Pixies in the Cellar.
Rowton Hall wedding photography (2)The Pixies – aka Peter and Sara – said the whole day had a great modern/vintage feel. Jai and his best man wore stylish great suits and funky shirts whilst Mish took the brave decision to be herself by wearing her glasses, which definitely looked amazing and complimented the whole look of the day.
Rowton Hall wedding photography (1)Jai had made a ‘signing bench’, a great idea, along with card/pressie box and signs for the road to Rowton Hall Hotel. Oh! And the best thing of all? A rice crispie wedding cake, perfectly topped with playmobil Mr & Mrs figures. Awesome. Read more…

Oooh where to start?! Michelle and Marc are a cool couple whose vintage chic wedding with a modern twist has some fabulous details – stunning rustic country flowers, tweed and bow ties for the boys, a 1950’s styled bridal dress, with cornflower blue bridesmaids… oh it’s beautiful and there’s so much to tell! They married at Peover Golf Club in Cheshire, on the hottest day of last year – and their wedding photos tell such a magical story.

The beautiful bride and gorgeous groom chose Pixies in the Cellar to photograph their wedding. Peter and Sara – aka the Pixies! – told me, “We really enjoyed the whole day, Meesh and Marc had thought of everything for the day to run smoothly and for it to be very personal to them. What really shines through in the pictures is how much fun everyone had, it way just a great group of family and friends enjoying a great day with some very very summery weather!

Hello my lovelies! I have a treat for you this morning from a gorgeous and creative couple – Jessica and Mike. Their wedding at Thornton Manor in Cheshire is full of little luxuries and special touches. As Jessica herself told me, “the devil’s in the detail” – a nice motto for a wedding, don’t you think?!

Jessica and Mike chose their wedding suppliers carefully and with such a professional team in place they really couldn’t go wrong. A top class venue – Thornton Manor – set the scene. Their photographer is the lovely and talented Martin Hambleton. Flowers, music, scented candles and more combined to make this a truly memorable and special wedding day.

Hello lovelies! I hope you’re having a nice week – anything exciting planned for the weekend, anyone? I’m feeling ever so loved-up this morning as Jayne and Steven’s English Wedding Blog report is just wonderful. So rather than me wittering on, I’m going to share a quote from today’s beautiful bride Jayne to introduce today’s real wedding on the blog:

Enjoy every minute of your wedding day. Because once you get to that point, none of the planning etc. matters, just the day when you get married to your best friend and sharing it with those nearest and dearest to you. Remember the feeling of the whole day, the nerves, the joy, the laughter. Hold on to the moments when it is just the two of you, but also soak up the feeling of being surrounded by all the people you love the most in the same room there to celebrate your love. It’s pretty darn amazing – you won’t remember everything, it will fly by and you will want to relive it over and over – but that is what the photos and videos are for. Life will return to a form of normality afterwards, but if you hold on to that feeling, it will forever make you smile.

Hello! Welcome to one of the most romantic blog posts I’ve ever shared on English Wedding Blog. You’re about to cry, I promise – but in a lovely way – as you watch Derek and Sarah’s wedding film.

I was having a quick chat with Charlene from Love Gets Sweeter when she showed me this little gem – of all her recent weddings this is the most romantic and beautiful day. I had to share it with all of you lovely blog readers! Sarah is beautiful. Derek will win you over and together they’ll make you want to get married right NOW!

Sarah and Derek’s Highlights from Love Gets Sweeter on Vimeo.

Sarah has been so generous with her wedding report for the blog as well – from the proposal (and once again, Derek you Rock!) to the wedding day and this lovely couple’s wedding supplier recommendations – this is fantastic. Over to Sarah and Derek…

It strikes me this morning that a PapaKata wedding is always exciting and unique. If you want your wedding day to be beautiful but non-traditional – you’ll be needing one of these!

Siobhan and Chris had a beautiful, individual wedding in Cheshire this year. With my friend and Cheshire wedding photographer Phil Drinkwater to document their wedding day in pictures, this is such an inspiring story to share with you.

Before I leave you to enjoy Siobhan and Chris’s wedding report with all of those beautiful images, I need to mention the dancing. I’ve featured PapaKata weddings on English Wedding Blog before – but today is special. Watch out for the last few pictures, which show PapaKata by night… the sparkling lights and festival atmosphere is enchanting!

What did you wear?

I wore an all-lace Lusan Mandongus gown, with a sash ‘Lola’ by Sash and Co and Rachel Simpson shoes ‘Mimi’ all purchased at the beautiful Cheshire bridal boutique, the White Closet.

Frogg Manor wedding Cheshire blog (39)As you might guess from the title, today’s English Wedding Blog is packed to the rafters with ideas, from a home made wedding dress (which is jaw-droppingly gorgeous) via a quirky and eccentric country manor venue to a “guest being locked in his own car boot”.

I really don’t know where to begin! This is fantastic…

The beautiful images are by Cheshire wedding photographer Adam Riley. The wedding venue is Frogg Manor (about 15 minutes from Chester), described as “Unashamedly bourgeois, eccentric, original & quintessentially English”. And I have a wonderful wedding report from the bride – Angela looks out of this world – the perfect English bride. (Ben too is gorgeous – they’re a match made in heaven!)

Enjoy xxx

Are you reading this wedding blog to find out about the Tactical Nuclear Penguin? Or is that the last thing you expected to be reading about today? Either way I’m very happy you’re here because I can share the second part of Lisa and Stewart’s Cheshire wedding day with you.

The wedding reception

What were your highlights? The church choir. Church bells ringing. Seeing the amount of friends, family and well wishers at the church and the evening reception.
