So how’s your sunshine today, lovelies? I’m loving this week – it feels like SUMMER!! I can play in my garden and walk on the beach… it’s heaven. Right now I’m working on the next edition of the English Wedding Bible, which we’re publishing in May. If you’d like to be a part of it, get in touch with your ideas for shoots, articles or real weddings we can feature. Today though, we’re all about al fresco wedding dining, herbs and botanicals with a gorgeous editorial from Gaynes Park which was sent in by English Wedding Directory member, lovely Gwenda at The Gilded Fern. She’s here to tell you more!

I may be a floral designer, but I’ve got a major soft spot for plants and foliage! I often include some herbs in buttonholes and cake decorations, so the concept of this shoot stemmed from there. Herbs are often short-stemmed, so I took a little bit of artistic licence in my choices, for the bouquet, which included olive leaf, thlaspi (aka penny-cress), lavender, calendula, chamomile daisies, dill, and mentha. Many of these were also made into leaf and petal confetti.

If you love where you live, why not incorporate the essence of the place into your wedding day? You really can get married wherever you’d like nowadays – with the help of a celebrant you can say your vows on the beach, on a mountain top, on a boat, a lake… pretty much anywhere. I’m one of those lucky creatives who live close to the Lake District – and today’s blog post is all about bringing the spirit of a place into your wedding styling.

Previously featured on Love My Dress blog (thank you lovely Annabel!), this shoot was styled and brought to life by me! Sheryl from Oobaloos Photography came to stay, I asked a few more of my favourite suppliers from around the UK to help out, and I’m thrilled to say they did – and all brought their A game on the day!

The English Wedding Blog exists to fire your imagination; to bring you the most beautiful wedding ideas and creative styling so you can incorporate unique special touches into your day. Exquisite design and breathtaking photography is a part of that, and today’s feature is more than a little special for me.

Working alongside the uniquely talented Verona Lain Photography, I crafted the calligraphy pieces in today’s feature by hand using divine papers from Paperchase and a traditional dip pen and ink. (Join me for a calligraphy workshop in Manchester next Friday if you’d like to learn to write like this!) They fit so perfectly with the little details: the wonderful ring from the London Victorian Ring Co. in its adorable box by La Petit Box. The silk ribbons by Kate Cullen are, as always, the prettiest touch.

(For those of you who are new to the English Wedding Blog, hi! I’m Claire – I write the blog, and I also write calligraphy for weddings – you can find me at www.ByMoonandTide.com!)

Ah, Monday – would you allow me to wear my pyjamas just a little longer while I blog? It’s been a busy old weekend here at English Wedding HQ and I’m just a little sleepy… and yes, I know it’s nearly lunchtime! How was your weekend? Anyways, I have the loveliest wedding style ideas for you today – from my lovely friend Sheryl at Oobaloos Photography in Cheltenham. Sheryl stepped in at the last minute to capture this beautiful photoshoot from Lords of the Manor Hotel, a former 17th century rectory situated in the heart of the idyllic Cotswolds countryside. I was thrilled when she asked me if I’d send one of the new invitation suites we’re now selling in the English Wedding Shop (go see!) and I’m just over the moon to be sharing all of these lovely images today.

Hey lovelies! For those of you who love making, who adore bright colours and who have drawers full of ribbons and fun papers and crafty bits at home (or wish you had!)… I have something wonderful to share. Today’s fabulously creative shoot is brought to you by Starry Eyed Weddings and Three Flowers Photography along with a team of talented wedding creatives from the East of England. I hope you love it as much as I do!

One thing we hear regularly in the media is how expensive weddings are, and how much of a ‘rip off’ they are – well we beg to differ! Of course there are costs involved-after all its the biggest party you’ll ever throw. Probably. But we know lots of great venues, amazing suppliers and decor tricks that will not only keep you within budget but will give you the day you’ll never forget.

Hello there lovely people! It’s a creative day for me in every possible sense – I’ve been writing some beautiful invitations for a friend this morning and will be spending the next couple of hours discovering all the lovely weddings and shoots in my inbox… but first I have to share this stunning creative styling from The Forge in Bristol. I LOVE the paint splatter stationery and beautiful calligraphy by De Winton Paper Co, the colourful styling by lovely English Wedding Directory member Kirsten (Little Wedding Helper) and glorious images. This is wedding styling for artistic souls and I hope you adore it as much as I do! Happy Tuesday everyone!

Tucked away in the middle of Bristol sits The Forge, a beautiful bespoke event space and workshop venue with huge windows, exposed brickwork, bare floorboards and a real New York loft space vibe. As soon as Kirsten Butler, aka The Little Wedding Helper, saw the space from its renovation to completion she knew she wanted to do a shoot to showcase this space and the talents of a local wedding suppliers.

Today’s beautiful floral shoot was created as an anniversary styled celebration, but I think the styling is just perfect for a wedding too! The flowers by The Wedding Fairy are so soft and colourful – they really do take centre stage. Delicate blue delphiniums, ranunculus and roses sit prettily together on tables with a colour palette of soft blues, ivory and subtle coral tones. Berried eucalyptus adds a silvery note and lovely texture, working hand in hand with dove grey and white candles in the prettiest glass holders.

It’s all captured beautifully by talented photographer Zehra Jagani at Owen House in Cheshire. Place settings are simple and delicate, with organic calligraphy from By Moon & Tide.

Chargers studded with gold, delicate mercury glass and silk napkins all add to the overall look. For me, this is all about pulling different styling elements together: glassware and candles, florals and foliage, place settings – all within a well planned colour palette so the effect is amazing.

The florals in today’s shoot are out of this world – totally luxurious, soft-as-candyfloss pastel shades which must just smell divine! They’re the creation of one of our favourite UK floral designers, lovely Ruth from All for Love London. If flowers are your thing, and you can afford to splurge a little on your tablescapes… then ladies and gents, this is how it’s done!

This is wedding styling inspiration for all of you who are looking for a romantic, classic and feminine look for your wedding tables. There’s also the most beautifully styled sweet table with a feature wedding cake by Little Cake Garden and iced biscuits by Honey Bee Cakes. Cambridgeshire venue Lattenbury Hill wedding style ideas. Images by Sarah Brookes Photography (21)

Long, hazy summer evenings… vineyards as far as the eye can see and an instinct for beautiful, relaxed and elegant wedding styling is the focus of the English Wedding Blog today. It all feels exquisitely French, and the styling touches are wonderfully français… but this inspirational photoshoot took place in the Cambridgeshire countryside! The creative team behind it all took elements from vintage, classic and rustic styling yet their approach was simplistic and grew organically on the day giving the whole ensemble a fresh, homely and natural feel.

A colour pallet of white, fawns and hues of blue gave the backdrop and flowers a real sense of purity and the idyllic location of a  farm house backdrop really led the way with the placement of wedding settings and in turn the photography.

Lattenbury Hill offers a blank canvas – a completely customisable space for you to create the wedding of your dreams. Our super talented group of suppliers imagined a couple having a summer wedding at Lattenbury – their proposal happened in a stunning French countryside village after the groom got down on one knee, and this inspired their wedding style.

For those of you with a creative soul, we have something special and oh so unique for you today! One of my trend predictions for 2018 weddings was a more edgy editorial style than we’ve seen in previous years, with darker hues and dramatic colours. Today’s editorial shoot brings this to life beautifully with jet black table linens and chairs making the most beautiful statement at Somerset’s Brympton House. The look is breathtaking and I hope you love it as much as I do! Pinterest fingers ready, everyone?!
