Luxury vintage wedding styling at Hillersdon House with Jennifer Jane Photography (39)

Are you a country girl at heart? Did you grow up in a village, learn about the different leaves at school and grow up loving the English countryside? Then today’s feature is just for you, my lovely!

I spent my own childhood in a small village in the Lake District. Those days were all about playing out in the sunshine, and as I grew up I would explore the country lanes and fall in love with nature. My mum had “The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady” on her bookshelf; now I own a copy of my own. The illustrations capture our native flora and fauna so perfectly; Edith’s words take me back to a place in time…

Welcome to the new week everyone! How is this glorious sunshine making you feel? On such a beautiful day I simply had to share this stunning shoot found in my inbox – it’s by a sup90er talented bunch of Cirencester wedding suppliers, whose artisan, sustainable approach has my heart. The stunning images are everything – every shot is just perfect. They’re by  Rachel Jane Photography, and the words (and dreamy florals) are by lovely Fi from Corky and Prince.

“The warm tones of coral coloured roses were refined with a complimentary palette of neutrals including carnations, stocks (smelt heavenly!) and the ethereal ranunculus ‘butterfly ariadne’ with its soft tones of vanilla and cream. We added key motifs, ferns and fuzzy peaches to add texture and evoke an English summer’s day.

Our aim was to create a classic English wedding vibe in the grounds of the beautiful Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester. We wanted to showcase a hand-picked team of local suppliers who all have a distinctive ethical, sustainable or artisan dimension to their work to show that you can have a sublime wedding with a team who share your values.

Oh my word I LOVE this shoot!!! The colours, the elegance and the light through the windows… every detail is spot on, it’s absolutely beautiful. I’ve been saving it up, because it’s lovely to have something to inspire all of our weekends… and this has everything from a La Sposa gown (oh, that lace!) and velvet ribbons, insanely beautiful florals and a moody, luxe, dreamy colour palette.

The venue is Shropshire’s stunning Davenport House. The inspiration was – and I LOVE this – Vanity Fair at the Oscars. How’s that for a wedding theme?! Elegant glamour inspired wedding styled shoot with blacks, dark greys, deep greens and pops of colour. Taking inspiration from the iconic Condé Nast publication Vanity Fair, a sense of drama and old Hollywood glamour was created with this shoot. The team wanted to create something more elevated and elegant for such a fantastic venue, with deep blues, crimsons and golds taking centre stage with the table décor.

Here’s some cute for ya 🙂 … isn’t this little guy adorable?! He’s part of one of the loveliest autumnal wedding features I’ve ever had the pleasure to share – with a glorious colour palette of burgundy and mustard yellows with stunning florals and the most breathtaking tablescapes, I’m THRILLED to be sharing this with you today! Grab a cuppa and enjoy…
English country wedding styling ideas with a rural twist from Hannah Buckland Photography (21)

The inspiration for this Quintessential Cotswold Country shoot came from photographer Hannah’s life in the Gloucestershire countryside. A country girl at heart she finds every opportunity to incorporate rural life through the seasons into her wedding and portrait photography. The rich tones of burgundy and on-trend mustard yellow are the perfect palette for a winter wedding; and pair beautifully with tweed for a rustic, textural feel.

The setting of a local farm provided a scenic country backdrop, with stunning lakes, orchards and woodlands. The shoot was bathed in winter sunlight; showing that winter weddings don’t have to be confined indoors. For Hannah, capturing couples’ character and personality is first and foremost the most important part of any wedding portraits.

This organic, pared back shoot was planned and styled by lovely Laura Jayne at Your Wedding, Your Way and photographed by Kate Hennessy Photography. It’s the most glorious inspiration for couples planning a relaxed and elegant wedding in a homely setting where they have freedom to create their own style. “With the outdoor elements, we wanted to portray the flexibility and scope of the space. The tablescape was designed to demonstrate how to mix the rustic look with elegant details to create a neutral, considered setting with natural elements. The shoot team consisted of mainly Kent based suppliers in this brand new, recently launched venue. Our gorgeous models’ smiles shone throughout the day and have created some stunning images, we hope you agree!

I still love styled shoots – they’re fabulous for first glimpses of inspiration and ideas which will gradually make their way into real couples’ weddings on blogs and in magazines. I publish plenty: I send my calligraphy out to a select few. But when Krysta (For the Love of Weddings) asks for stationery or calligraphy I know the shoot will be insanely beautiful, and I jump at the chance to take part!

Working with my beautiful friend Amy Swann makes the process even more enjoyable. Since 2017 we’ve been making wedding invitations for luxury and intimate weddings all over the world. Amy’s illustrations are the perfect accompaniment to romantic, organic calligraphy lettering, and a creative brief from a client like Krysta is so exciting to work with!

Today’s shoot happened at Garthmyl Hall and was beautifully captured by Rebecca Goddard Photography. Planning and styling was by For the Love of Weddings with concept & design by Style & Bloom. The flowers take centre stage – Pheasant Botanica‘s work is always stunning! Our model wears bridal wear by Sienna Von Hildemar with jewellery by Glitzy Secrets. A lot of you lovely couples are choosing very classic, elegant styling touches this year, so when this fabulous shoot landed on my desk I knew instantly you’d love it! This is timeless and beautiful, luxurious but not opulent – and achievable for those of you looking for modern elegance with beautiful details. The venue is Hothorpe Hall, and the styling is by Natalie at Beautiful Arches. All images are by lovely Kathryn Edwards Photography.

“The idea behind the shoot was to show a classic and elegant wedding; an achievable fairy-tale for those brides who dream of looking like a princess on their big day. I purposely didn’t want it to be too trend-led, so it’s quite timeless and classic with a simple colour scheme of white and gold, with just a touch of sparkle. It also features some beautiful details to show how you can bring a luxurious feel to your big day with little touches like monogrammed linen, a ceremony arch, and a nicely framed cake table.”

This dreamy editorial captures hazy Italian days in the most beautiful way. Imagine it’s summertime and you’re miles away from anywhere in the Italian countryside, with a villa of your own for the week of your wedding day – and everything is simply perfect. I adore the lush bouquet by Shining Flowers, the dreamy tablescape by Elisabetta Carraretto and the wonderfully floaty gown by the fabulous Jurgita Bridal.

It’s all captured beautifully by Sonya Lalla Photography, a Tuscany, Florence and Rome destination elopement photographer. Sonya is known for her romantic and delicate photographic style, and got in touch with me a little while ago to ask for some calligraphy pieces for this shoot.

Knowing Sonya’s stunning photographic style, I was delighted to oblige! I created a relaxed invitation suite for an Italian destination wedding, featuring a simple olive branch illustration and watercolour image of the duomo in Florence. The ink I used was handmade, in a soft olive grey, and written on torn edge watercolour paper. I love these images to bits, and they fit so beautifully with the overall styling of the shoot.

Happy Sunday, beautiful! How’s your weekend going? I forgot to tell you – we spent last night at The Wordsworth in Grasmere, a gorgeous spot for a wedding – so waking up this morning was absolute bliss! I’ll tell you all about it later in the week 🙂 For today though, something VERY special. We’ve been chatting to the wedding & events team at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford recently – it’s a breathtaking and wonderfully unique wedding venue with a stunning balance of contemporary architecture and historic backdrops – half a million years of art and history, to be precise! Today we’re sharing a bridal photoshoot at the Ashmolean, so you can see the place for yourselves… isn’t it incredible?!

The Ashmolean is a rich treasure house. Grand, sweeping staircases and priceless paintings offer a wealth of unique opportunities for photoshoots. Traditional flower arrangements coupled with contemporary bridal wear – a combination of old and new – embodies the breadth of the Ashmolean’s spaces.

Hi lovelies! How is your wedding planning going and are you hooked on Pinterest yet? I’ve spent today falling down random Pinterest holes… it’s not been a mega productive one so far! And the photoshoot I’m about to share with you hasn’t helped at all… there are so many stunning ideas here. We’re talking late summer wedding style – for that brief period of time when the summer begins to fade and wisps of autumn stir the air. A delicate, pastel colour palette still works this late in the season, but tinged with plum tones and darker pinks the look becomes something truly special to work with the earliest days of autumn.
