What could be a more romantic setting than the Italian countryside, a monastery no less, set amongst rolling hillsides and with its very own vineyard? The Favari Monastery dates from the 17th century and has been beautifully renovated as a destination wedding venue. For today’s English Wedding feature, the monastery serves as a beautiful backdrop for a group of local wedding suppliers who came together to create a lush, modern wedding style complete with al fresco table settings and a bride and groom just radiant with Italian style!

Wedding planner Nadia from Loving Marche sent us the shoot, which features stunning images from Francesco Cesaroni. Nadia is based in Le Marche, close to the monastery, and offers wedding styling, planning and coordination services for couples marrying in Italy.

The florals really make this wedding style come alive: with lush, soft textures and flowing shapes, the bouquet and arrangements are just perfect for an Italian celebration. White peonies, delphiniums and sweet peas combined with lots of foliage make for such a stunning bouquet!

Happy weekend, lovelies! There’s a definite chill in the air this morning, so I’m feeling the need to snuggle up with my guy, in all our cosiest blankets and throws, supping hot chocolate and – is it too early?! – in front of our new fireplace. The plan for the day is most definitely comfort food and staying toasty!

It feels like the perfect opportunity to share some winter wedding ideas with you. Lovely Katie Rogers Photography sent me this shoot full of luscious velvets and Wild Rubus‘s deliciously textured winter florals. The theme for the day was a rich, velvet palette with a hint of metallic, which works beautifully. The dresses by Wendy Makin and Cymbeline are just divine; and I especially adore the velvety vows books by Elmo Paper Stories.

Eco styling ideas for a summer picnic wedding with Bohotanical and the Gilded Fern (40)
FEATURED

I am a wedding blogger with vegan tendencies. Eco is a big deal for me, and vegan is a #lifegoal I’m working on steadily (chocolate is holding me back)! My Instagram is half filled with wedding pretty; and half with vegan and organic lifestyle influencers’ feeds. These two things make me so happy… and it’s a rare treat indeed to see my two favourite things come together on English Wedding! Gwenda from Bohotanical – you know I love you, right? With the deepest admiration and respect for THE most amazing team of wedding creatives, let’s have a look at today’s photoshoot, shall we?

“I first had the pleasure of working at Bore Place in 2017, and was immediately captivated by both its beauty and the ecological ethos that underpins it. The founders of the charitable trust wanted to explore how to live and work sustainably, understanding and recognising the interconnectedness of the environmental, social, economic and political aspects of sustainability. They sought to achieve this through practical action and by working cooperatively with others in order to share and inspire change, which they do through community projects, education, green tourism, and leading by example on the farm itself. I was thrilled when they agreed to host the shoot!

Good morning, beautiful. I’m feeling very tranquil right now, having scrolled through all of the wonderful images from today’s feature on English Wedding. The dresses by Kate Edmondson Bridal are divine; the bouquet just fabulous, and those Little Fancies biscuits and cookies the sweetest thing to hit my blogging screen this year! This shoot was styled and planned by Cynthia Adipue from Alegrar Events, who is here to tell you more. All images are by lovely Hannah Larkin Photography.

Step back in time to a world of glamour, style, sophistication and graceful elegance where romance blossomed under watchful eyes and often amidst unspoken words that stay locked up in the heart; an era where love is conveyed via series of handwritten and perfumed letters written and exchanged between the beloved; when simple gestures such as a look or a favourite book are the loveliest of mementos to remember your beloved by; a time where romance is not always expressed verbally or openly like in our modern day but still felt deeply with the briefest of touch or the gentlest gaze.

Tucked away on the edge of the beautiful village of Cranborne in Dorset, set back far enough from the road that it becomes a treasure, a beguiling location, is 10 Castle Street. The name is wonderfully deceiving – while there’s definitely a Castle Street running through the village, and the venue’s driveway leads from it, this is no run-of-the-mill residence. Number 10 Castle Street is a fabulously quirky and charismatic wedding venue, available for wedding hire and perfectly suited to an eclectic, elegant modern wedding.

Our lovely friend and English Wedding team member Linus Moran is a Dorset wedding photographer, perfectly placed to capture real weddings at 10 Castle Street. Today’s photoshoot shows – in glorious images – how a historic and enchanting venue like 10 Castle Street can inspire your wedding style. Linus brought this wedding photoshoot to life with fellow Dorset suppliers The Rose On The Cake, Sass & Grace, and West Dorset Wedding Flowers.

Hey gorgeous! Pop your sunglasses on – it’s about to get awfully bright in here!

Today’s wedding inspiration could have turned out very differently. It’s the first shoot Rachel from Rose Petals Vintage has created, and we love the vibrant colours – but that wasn’t the plan to begin with! It all began with one word: vintage. But that’s not so easy to define!

Surely by vintage I meant a tea length dress, with a vintage hairstyle and pastel colours right? Wrong, I used the word vintage thinking it was easy to explain, quirky, a little alternative – and because I knew I would be doing a vintage hairstyle and wanted a vintage dress. It wasn’t that simple. Although I have a passion for vintage fashion, hair and design, I also like bright colours not usually associated with vintage. I love peacocks, and I love the countryside. So the styled shoot I had imagined morphed into something quite different once I had seen the many different things on offer!

Approach any wedding creative with an idea for dramatic and beautiful styling, and they’ll be your best friend forever. There’s something especially exciting about working with darker colour palettes, dramatic contrasts and an alternative wedding look which we all love. I was thrilled to be asked to create stationery for this breathtaking styled bridal shoot with Jo Bradbury Photography last year. It’s one of my favourite collaborations of all time and I’m so excited to be sharing it with you today! Jo has an artfulness to her photography which I absolutely adore. We’ve featured her beautiful weddings on the blog before – she works across the north west, photographing dreamy celebrations in a romantic editorial style.

The shoot has already been featured in the beautiful Unveiled magazine – you can still buy previous issues here – so you may well have seen some of these pics in print already. If you haven’t, then this will be a treat for you today! As much as I loved writing the calligraphy pieces (gold ink on black textured papers is my fave!) it’s the flowers and cake which steal my heart.

Happy Wednesday my lovelies!! Would you like to join me in reminiscing over the stunningly sunny summer we had this year? Today I’m sharing a beautiful styled shoot that local suppliers to The Secret River Garden in Twickenham created in the summer months. The shoot is based on a DIY location (and the Secret River Garden is just perfect for this!) to show what a bride and groom who are looking to create an outdoor wedding in a stunning garden setting can do!

This is affordable, pretty and eclectic wedding inspiration for everyone. By using a couple of statement pieces (the cakes from Naomi’s bakehouse and Johanna Pedrick Flowers bouquet are just STUNNING!!) it’s easy to create a wonderfully pretty wedding display – and do get your guests to help out with a little baking if you’d love to create a dessert table like this!! Stylists Gemma from Mrs Jones Tea and China Hire and Jenny from Mrs Myrtle Events used vintage china in soft pastel colours with some bold props and natural elements to create a pretty English picnic wedding suitable for those long summer days by the river or in a garden.

Jane Austen wedding style inspiration from Oxford Hall, with Katy Melling Photography (27)
FEATURED

Two words I’ve been hearing quite often as we approach 2019 are ‘heirloom’ and ‘heritage’ – brides and grooms are looking more to our culture and history than ever before, for inspiration for wedding styling. ‘Vintage’ as a source of wedding ideas is still hugely popular, with couples now looking for venues with their own character and unique history. So this inspirational feature from Doxford Hall has to be one of my favourite shoots of ALL TIME! It’s a perfect fit for English Wedding too of course, with a nod to Jane Austen and such delightful styling touches! The calligraphy is mine – I’m so proud to have been a part of such a beautiful photoshoot (and my paper goodies get to visit such wonderful places!)

Crafted from mellow stone, with its formal gardens and manicured lawns, featuring Europe’s largest yew tree maze, Doxford Hall is a dreamy, romantic and photogenic venue, and Northumbria’s only four red star wedding venue. To celebrate its bicentenary, a creative team channelled their love of beautiful things and shared passion for the finer things in life, to create a Jane Austen-inspired styled bridal shoot to capture the elegance and romance of this beautiful country wedding venue.

Romantic London wedding editorial with Ryann Lindsey Photography (7)
FEATURED

Hello lovelies! Today’s all about the pretty on English Wedding… gloriously soft and feminine pinks with romantic table styling, silk ribbons and a lush bouquet. This palette and look would be wonderful in a contemporary marquee or garden wedding reception, or an orangery with views onto beautiful gardens. Huge thanks to lovely Jenna from Wonderland Invites for sharing it with us – this is so damn beautiful!

Romantic London wedding editorial with Ryann Lindsey Photography (17)

When my Instagram friend from the states announced she’d be in the UK to shoot a wedding, I knew it would be a once in a lifetime opportunity to work together in person. I messaged Ryann of Ryann Lindsey Photography and she was up for the task!

We decided to push for a London based shoot, and my search began. I was over the moon when Chelsea Physic Garden accepted. As a working garden open to the public, they don’t frequently allow photoshoots; as such, it was an amazing opportunity we were handed by the marketing team there. To compliment the lush greenery of the gardens, I opted for a pink, mauve and white colour scheme which would bounce beautifully off the floral and fauna of the surroundings.

I’m so in love with today’s style edit from our lovely friends at Amanda Karen Photography. The vibrant green foliage by Cassandra King brings summer to any venue, all year round. The cake by Hayley Elizabeth Cake Design is incredible with glossy leaves and still so very elegant – and the touches of antique gold bring the entire theme together: it’s wonderful.

I’m sure I’m not the only one to have a bit of a houseplant ‘thing’ going on. I have succulents and ferns, cacti and plenty of palm-tree type things whose names I don’t even know! I’m also a big believer in styling your wedding with the things you love, so the day is beautiful and feels natural, fitting your personalities too. So, fellow plant lovers, here’s how to take inspiration from those tropical houseplants you adore to create a stunning, contemporary wedding style!

One of the best holidays I ever had was in Cornwall a couple of years ago for my birthday. We walked sections of the coastal path through fields of wild bluebells, and I’ll never forget the scent of those beautiful landscapes. We were glamping as well, so this shoot really reminds me of that magical holiday! So wedding photographers: send me bluebells and you win. I adore them. (If you love them too and you’re interested in protecting our native species, check out the Big Bluebell Watch and take part in 2019!)

This gorgeous bluebell-filled styled wedding shoot is perfect for late spring wedding inspiration. Our lovely friend and English Wedding Directory member Cassandra June sent it to me, so I will let her explain how she brought this timeless look together. Claire xxx
