Last month it was announced that the laws governing where folks get married in England and Wales might change – and it’s about time, we think! We dream of windswept elopements on sea cliffs, of secret woodland glades for our tipis and festoon-lit wedding celebrations… and of creating and speaking our own vows which don’t include legal jargon or a single religion if we don’t want them to! We’ll be watching the development of that little story carefully here at English Wedding HQ.

Today’s wedding inspiration shoot fits perfectly into the free-spirited, beautiful boho vibe… it’s from wedding photographer www.katiemortimore.com who worked with a lovely creative team to put together a stunning backdrop for a natural or humanist wedding by the beach. With a beautiful dress by Lisa the Dressmaker, flowers from Bellafiori and props / styling by Wonderlands, who provided the props (we LOVE!!!) and gorgeous stationery from Ananya Cards.

I’ve always said a wedding doesn’t have to be anything more than the two of you saying ‘I do’. Today’s feature celebrates the most romantic of weddings with Petra and Thomas on a quiet Jersey beach. I adore everything about their day: they’re both stunning; the bouquet is gorgeous – and our bride and groom just keep smiling the whole day long. Oh, and then they run into the sea together… and it just looks perfect!

Thomas and Petra hired lovely Sandy from Tern Events to help plan and style their day. Sandy was a huge help, sourcing suppliers she knows and trusts to create a perfectly memorable occasion for the bride and groom. Petra’s bouquet is divine – Clara from Wilde Thyme mixed soft, pretty colours and flowers which were mainly home grown on Jersey.

Sandy even arranged for Emma from Quints of Jersey to make up a lovely booklet and menu as a keepsake of the day – as it’s not always easy finding the right stationery for just the two of you to celebrate with!

How many of us, as little girls, dream of being a bride in a white dress and veil, and of being a ballerina on a stage? There’s a magic to both: a romance, a spirit of beautiful femininity – and it’s enchanting when both come together. Today’s styled shoot is from a wedding photographer whose other specialism is ballet photography. I hope you will love this as much as I do! The bouquet and dresses are sublime, just perfect for a romantic wedding day by the sea…

I specialise in dance and ballet photography and when not photographing ballerinas, my camera is focused on brides and wedding photography. I organised this styled bridal photoshoot to bring together a group of my friends, who are all running their own businesses and whose work I admire. I approached my favourite hotel in Jersey  – the Atlantic Hotel – and they were delighted to participate, so all was set and ready to go.

We’ve shared features with so many amazing suppliers, I wanted to introduce you to some of our favourites today – and where better to begin than with the folks who turn dreams into reality? I take my hat off to every single one of these wonderful ladies – and I would recommend them to any couple looking for a little extra help with any aspect of wedding planning.

Ahh… I can almost smell the sunshine from today’s sublime English wedding – looking at these images is the loveliest reminder of summer, and the details of the day are simply perfect. Stunning bride Sarah has written about her day – and I just love that it was so perfect, this family home is set to become one of England’s prettiest new wedding venues.

“James and I got married at his parent’s house, Midway Manor, in Bradford-on-Avon and we would like to open up Midway Manor to other couples getting married as it is a splendid place.

We were blessed to be able to make use of James’ parent’s country home which has beautiful land with a lake and waterfall feature in the front of the house and a pretty manicured “secret” garden with an array of flower beds, kitchen gardens, peony patch (my favourite flower), walkways and pockets at the back of the house.

A little while ago I asked for any suggestions of wedding loveliness I might feature on the blog, and some of the replies I had – from couples, designers and wedding suppliers – were amazing! One who really stood out from the crowd was lovely Alice Palace, whose wedding invitations are so original and charming I don’t think they will ever date!

“We design unique eco friendly wedding stationery which is a wonderful way to begin the tale of your wedding day – our designs are original, personal and they tell your story. When you think about your wedding stationery, think about who you are as a couple and what you represent, your history together and then bring your story to Alice Palace and we can create your ideas into designs which will become a memory of the story of your wedding day.”

Paul and Naomi are amazing – they’re down to earth, creative and have made me smile so many times this morning as I planned their real wedding blog post for you. The images and details from their Yorkshire wedding are gorgeous – and the bride and groom are more than stunning – LOVE these two!

Yorkshire village hall wedding blog with Paul Maven Photography (5)

Naomi told me they didn’t read wedding magazines but found suppliers online through wedding blogs and searches, and in person at wedding fairs (where they found photographer Paul Maven). Their wedding involves bridesmaid-driven pimped-up Landrovers, gorgeous colours and incredible bouquets just bursting with colour… there’s also miles of mum-bunting (Mums of England – you’re the best!) and so many unique little touches to decorate the village hall.

You’ll love this.

Good morning lovely blog readers! Today’s English Wedding Blog inspiration comes in the form of gorgeous gowns from a newly launched British bridal collection. The super stylish Alie Street has some really beautiful dresses for everything from city chic weddings to elegant country celebrations… and I think you’ll LOVE them!

Alie Street Bridal first wedding dress collection 2015 (8)

Alie Street was founded in March 2015 by Tiffany London. Following its success, the beautiful new bridal range has launched online this summer and looks set to be a hit with modern British brides. From a sophisticated city affair to elegant country wedding, the new collection fuses timeless designs with impeccable tailoring to create a beautiful range to suit any bride.

The Victoria Gown is for brides seeking something a little different – this sleek tailored wedding dress feels truly beautiful from the fit of the strapless bodice to the swishy full skirt that sashays onto the dance floor.

It must be such a wonderful thing to be a bridal fashion designer – creating those unique, once-in-a-lifetime kinds of dresses girls dream of from childhood! One name I’ve seen crop up on some of the more exclusive bridal couture oriented blogs is Britta Von Basedow, a new London couture designer on the bridal scene whose ‘Blanche’ collection launched at October’s Brides The Show.

Britta creates for a contemporary bride who searches for individuality – style combined with unique design and an exquisite combination of craftsmanship and materials. Her passion for haute couture is felt in each piece of her BvB-Blanche Bridal range. These are luxury gowns – made from wonderful fabrics and lined in silk, hand-embellished with rare beads and sparkling real Swarovski crystals. See the collection online at www.brittavonbasedow.com or by appointment directly in Britta’s London Atelier Showroom.

Ian and Rose used family heirloom fabrics as one of the key themes of their wedding at Manchester Art Gallery. I love their wedding all the more for those really personal touches: today’s bride and groom use their family history as inspiration, and it’s amazing.

Rose looks incredible. Her dress and accessories are divine – a little Gatsby inspired, with 1920s touches. Ian’s suit has its own story, which I love. This is a wedding I know you’ll adore…

Today’s bride and groom planned a beautiful barn wedding in just eight months. And when I say beautiful… it’s breaking my heart trying to narrow down the selection of images to show you for today’s blog feature.

English wedding photography by Ian Wallace Yorkshire (10)

There are smiles and tender moments and stunning portraits throughout this incredible day. The venue – unmistakably Wasing Park – is spectacular. The sunlight is divine. Adrian and Charlotte are clearly made for each other…

And yet… as I scroll through the images from their wedding, part of me thinks if I could only show you two or three images this would still be a wedding of the year. When it comes to breathtaking wedding pictures, Ian Wallace Photography is one of the best. But you don’t need me to tell you… just look at this wonderful English wedding. You will fall in love.
