Fair warning: we’re about to drown you in breathtaking flowers and foliage, steal your heart with a twist of authentic vintage styling and leave you swooning with one of the loveliest shoots of the summer. Moreton House is elegant, beautifully light and open and with the former schools historical charm has endless possibilities for many wonderful weddings and events to be celebrated at this new venue. Our aim was create an inspiration shoot using local suppliers and to introduce the venue to new couples and in its launch in hosting weddings.

Our florist Heather of Church Park Flowers, uses British grown flowers and grows many herself, her creations are often seasonally inspired and she avoids single use plastic or floral foam with its negative impact on the environment. Heather created an unstructured open arch, which is the perfect choice for couple looking for a stunning backdrop or ceremony arch for their day. Through the shoot our style concept used a combination of fresh and dried flowers create a stunning effect and these offer a wonderful choice for weddings at any time of year, using hand tied bouquets, single stem arrangements alongside our stunning arch. The arch gave the most delicate but impactful focal point to the space and we believed it framed our ‘bride’ beautifully, if you were to choose this for your day, we could imagine endless photograph opportunities for you and your guests.

Gabriella wore beautiful gowns provided by FrillyFrocks, complimented with effortlessly stylish statement jewellery by wanderlust life.
Hair by Zan of Steven and Laurent and make up by Clare Bowering, was kept intentionally minimal for a natural look. Choosing an incredibly talented hair stylist and make up artist ensures that the bride feels their ultimate best, and glows.

Anthony Lyons of Special Day Wedding Photos has an incredible flair for his art, with his natural documentary style photography. Anthony is very relaxed, he puts you at ease, his presence is subtle but with a strong focus for capturing every natural magical moment. He produced a set of sublime images that echoed every essence of the ambience you can expect for a styled wedding at Moreton House.
Wet-plate Photographer Stephen, joined us for the day with his mesmerising glass plate photography. This was a new technique to myself but which I now have nothing but admiration for…. if you are searching for the most exquisite memory of the day look no further than this. Watching the whole process is an art and what is created is beyond beautiful.

Our cake was created by a local cake maker Emma Smudger, who uses UK millers and local food producers, catering for gluten free, dairy free, vegan, and nut free. Emma created a buttercream tiered cake, perfect for you to dress with florals that compliment your look for your day. Your wedding cake is another key focal point of your day and we love to dress the space, here we used a variety of textures and vintage items to create a feminine, natural, rustic frame.

We were joined by Neil of best.day.ever! quirky and British classic car hire, who bought along his Jaguar Mark 2 S Type, the perfect car to arrive to a traditional venue. Which also provided an elegant vista parked out of the front of the house.

As a wedding and event designer Katie from the wedding styling, planning and coordinating service best.day.ever! wanted to create a natural feel that enhanced the setting…

I have worked with Heather many times and it was a pleasure to bring the idea of our open arch to life in the elegant dining room that can also be used for ceremonies. I wanted to create two examples of dining both aesthetically pleasing, but that may inspire ideas to couples for the service and styling that we can offer. Soft pastels were used with our pale blue fabric draping the table providing a backdrop for the table settings to be laid. This look is perfect for a clean romantic spring wedding. With name places painted in watercolours , naturally dried petals for confetti in cones created from vintage music sheets… this was inspired by the music that was played as the pupils would enter to assembly when Moreton house was previously a school.

Keeping the centre line of the table clean and simple with our white China and glassware, complimented the simple soft tones of spring … with pale delicate narcissus stems in vases and vintage glassware with a pink punch. With my other table, I wanted to create a calm warm and rustic elegance with our plant dyed fabric napkins, vintage earthenware, dried flowers, pink tones.

Name places were scribed on natural gemstones that can be taken as a favour and cherished by the guests, I feel it is important to create with empathy to the space and the setting I am in, the weather and time of year play a part in creating a styled setting that enhances the beauty of a space and creates the perfect ambience for your celebrations.

In my styling at Moreton House I was keen to used layers, textures, and natural decor that together provided us with a romantic feminine natural look. Our Table plan was hand scribed into a collection of upcycled bottles creating an area of visual interest with depth and individual charm. Hand scribed signage throughout enhancing the attention to individual detail and ensuring that the whole feel is very personal.
