It’s been wonderful revisiting some of the beautiful weddings we featured on English Wedding through 2019 – I hope you’ve enjoyed them too! Today’s is an absolute BEAUTY!! The flowers are out of this world, nestling amongst glass jars and candles to create a wonderfully romantic, English country garden look from daytime to dusk.

Steph and Rob are a gorgeous pair. She’s glorious in Anna Sorrano’s Laurel gown from Wed2B, and he’s so handsome in a micro check navy suit from ASOS. The best thing? These guys are real – two brilliantly happy human beings, just like you and me, beaming with happiness and enjoying their Best. Day. Ever. – and you can just tell they’re SO much in love the photos are a kind of magic.

“The Fleece Countryside Inn is gorgeous and didn’t need much to look incredible but we did have the help of the amazing Stems Design who did the majority of the styling and Set The Scene venue stylist who provided the table cloths and beautiful lace chair covers. The room looked incredible and I was blown away when I saw it for the first time – floral wonderland!

Our flowers were arranged by the lovely Lynne at Stems Design. Choosing flowers was one of my favourite parts of wedding planning. The ladies at Stems were so lovely, like many of our supplies, they turned my pinterest page and imagination into something real and out did themselves. I absolutely loved my flowers, from my bouquet to the button holes and the venue to my hair flowers – every one was perfect.

When we first began looking at wedding venues, we visited a wedding fayre and met Kathryn. We were instantly drawn to her display of work and the style of her pictures. The natural, relaxed style of her pictures was exactly what we wanted – we didn’t have a venue or a date but I knew the minute we did, I would be in touch with her!

Kathryn put us at ease instantly – not an easy job for two people who were nervous about having our pictures taken! We did a pre wedding shoot a few months before the wedding, a casual coffee and walk around Skipton, which really I would definitely recommend doing. It was great to meet Kathryn properly before, this meant that she didn’t feel like a stranger on the day but more like a friend. We also got some great pictures, which upped our confidence on the day itself.
When it came to the big day Kathryn was so organised and professional but was happy to be flexible and work around us as well. We never wanted the photographs to take over the day and were keen on having a lot of natural shots. Half the time we didn’t realise Kathryn was even there, she knew when there was a bit of time to grab some quick family and couple pictures but it never felt like a big time out of the day – it was perfect for us.
The next morning Kathryn sent us a preview image and I knew from then on that we would be over the moon with them! It was a shot of just us two, in the fading early evening light and it was just perfect. Not your typical posed wedding picture, moody skies and a setting sun and I just loved it.

When we received the whole set I was quite overwhelmed – it felt like every time I looked through them (which was a lot) I found a new one that I loved. Moments were captured that I will remember forever, when I didn’t even realise Kathryn was there for, such as showing my dad my wedding ring that included diamonds given to me by my Grandma before she passed away. We are currently waiting to move into a new house and I have no idea how we are going to choose which ones to put on show.

Crafts and makes – tell us about any homemade elements of your wedding… did you enjoy them?

Being a busy teacher I didn’t really make anything for the wedding but put my faith in fantastic professionals who all exceeded my expectations.

The wedding cake: what kind of cake did you choose and why?

I choose the fabulous Peri Bakes to make our cake after coming across her facebook and instagram through chance after a friend had her make a child’s birthday cake. She was relatively new to the industry but there was something about her style that I loved. She was so full of ideas and excitement for my theme that it made the whole process so easy and honestly the cake table was better than I had ever imagined.

Entertainment: any musical recommendations, surprises or treats?

Vibetown our band were incredible. We wanted the evening to be a party and they 100% made that happen

Words of wisdom: share your best piece of advice for other couples:

Don’t let the day pass you by. Take it all in and appreciate it all without letting little things stress you out!

What’s the best thing about being married?

A constant sleep-over with your best friend.
