Quintessentially English wedding style ideas from Pauntley Court in Gloucestershire
Happy Friday, beautiful! While I’m off teaching another modern calligraphy class down in Manchester today, I have this beauty of a feature to share with you on the blog. It comes from enchanting Gloucestershire wedding venue Pauntley Court, which is a family home now being offered to couples as an exclusive use wedding venue. Pauntley Court is reputedly the birthplace of Dick Whittington and is set in glorious countryside with its own stunning formal gardens. As you’ll see from the photos, this is a quintessentially English venue, perfect for weekend weddings. Owner Melissa tells us a little more about the suppliers and ideas who brought this beautiful feature to life!
“Working with Jules Whitfield of Wild and Co Flowers and Alicia of Red Maple photography, we wanted to show Pauntley Court as the quintessentially English and very romantic and magical place it is.
The one off colour of the house was the inspiration for the colour palette, with the corals and oranges in Jules’s beautiful floral displays really pulling this all together.
I chose the model as I felt that Steph’s beautiful red hair epitomises the uniqueness of Pauntley.
This theme was carried through to the wonderful name places and table numbers created by Emma Barnes of Emerald Paper Design and the cake was resplendent dressed in some of the fresh flowers and set on the grand piano. The vintage china and cutlery, together with the crystal glasses all added to the ambience and truly historic undertones of this very special and intimate venue.
The country garden wildness of the floral installation at the base of the main stairs juxtaposed perfectly with the creative and artistic charm of the interiors of Pauntley.
This photo shoot provides a bride and groom a snapshot of the magical essence of Pauntley Court and how they could make their wedding day a unique and memorable occasion.
