How is your week going? Do you have sunshine? It’s been beautiful here… I think spring is my favourite season of all when it’s like this! I could almost be on my laptop in the garden right now!

We’ve had a week of beautiful weddings and features, and today’s is a real favourite: the relaxed and elegant styling is fabulous; Lucy & James are gorgeous and their day looks so much fun. It’s all beautifully captured by our friend and outstanding Dorset wedding photographer Robin Goodlad Photography.

Lucy’s Alice Temperley gown takes my breath away. The delicate embroidery and soft, swishing fabric of that fabulous skirt make this a true dream dress!

Having a boho / rustic wedding can still involve lots of styling and creative projects, and I fell head over heels for all the foliage in Lucy & James’s marquee – they made hazel frames running along all the tables and hung hops and other foliage from it – it looks fabulous. Even the bar is covered in hops! I love it!

Wedding venue:

We got married at James’ parents farm in rural Dorset which has incredible views of the rolling countryside. Our friends and family pitched in gathering foliage, growing dahlias and making bunting to give the day a unique and colourful vibe. Even though the weather was challenging Robin used this to his advantage and chose creative shots to complement the moodiness of the sky. When the clouds did eventually clear, Robin took a breathtaking shot of us under the bright and shining milky way. He captured so many memories and was an absolute pleasure to have as our photographer on the big day.

Crafts and makes – tell us about any homemade elements of your wedding… did you enjoy them?

We made wooden frames from hazel running the full length of the banqueting tables and decorated with hops, old mans beard and hanging lanterns. Our friend Mario made a photo booth for us with lots of fun probs and hay bales.
