Our best weddings from 2018! #8 – Emma & Simon

As we approach the end of 2018 I’m excited to discover new ideas for planning and styling beautiful weddings in the months to come. This year has been such a treat for the world of weddings, with more dark and sultry styling alongside fabulous tropical botanicals and metallic accents. Minimalism is set to be a new thing – and elopements are another trend I predict will grow even more in popularity in 2019. So I simply had to take you for a look back at another favourite ‘wedding’ from the English Wedding archives – it’s Emma & Simon’s wild and dramatic elopement on the Northern Irish coast. Their day was captured by Luke Flint Media.
I’ve seen about 1% of beautiful Northern Ireland – we have friends in Newcastle, and the tiny section of coastline I’ve seen is just wonderful. I’d love to explore more. Luckily via the blog I can… because today is one of the very best celebrations of love I’ve had the pleasure of sharing on English Wedding! Let’s escape to magical Dunluce Castle, on the northernmost tip of County Antrim, for gorgeous Emma and Simon’s breathtaking and romantic elopement!
The couple got ready together at home then went to Dunluce castle ruins for their ceremony. Emma wear’s a dress from Wtoo by Watters, and Simon’s jacket is from The Wedding Centre with trousers and shoes by River Island. Emma’s bouquet is by Penelope Flowers. Some of my favourite shots are from Ballintoy Harbour, where the newlyweds headed to catch some last beautiful images before sunset. Photographer Luke says they had to climb a few fences and got a bit muddy but it was worth it – I couldn’t agree more!
