Good morning beautiful! I hope you’re having the loveliest day – and enjoying a little sunshine still! Aren’t we lucky… it’s already been such an amazing summer and we’re still in the first week of July! And of course, this means we’re blogging beautiful weddings full of sunshine for you. Beautiful bride Sarah and her gorgeous groom Iain were married at Mitton Hall in the Ribble Valley. Their day is elegant and contemporary, with stunning blooms and delicious details. What do you think of the sweet pink chair sashes instead of covers? We wanted to reflect the venue – at Mitton, we love the beautiful, cozy hall with all the wooden beams, and the amazingly light conservatory that looks out on to a gorgeous green backdrop. We wanted to create create a rustic, vintage feel, but keep it chic and modern. I loved my flowers! I had a mixture of different colourful flowers, including my favourite flowers peonies, hand tied with brown string. Julie from Hedgehogg florist arranged them for us – she was brilliant, I couldn’t recommend her highly enough.

Rachel takes beautiful, vibrant photographs filled with so much joy and emotion. We loved Rachel’s documentary style – the smiles, laughs, glances – she manages to capture very special moments that might otherwise go unnoticed.

We couldn’t have been happier with Rachel. From start to finish, she was wonderful – she understood exactly what we wanted and went above and beyond to give us advice on everything wedding-related! On the day itself, Rachel talked about our day and the photographs as a story, which I absolutely loved – the idea that every moment was part of a story with all our closest family and friends. She managed to capture so many brilliant photos – we absolutely love them.

When we first saw our wedding photos they made us laugh and cry at the same time!

Where did you buy or source your wedding stationery – or was making it a labour of love?

We bought templates for the full suite of wedding stationary from Etsy, and wrote the wording and did the printing ourselves. We thought it was a nice personal touch, plus it saved us a bit of money!

Did you fall in love with your wedding dress?

Yes!

I had ivory jewelled Jenny Packham shoes which I spotted originally on one of Rachel’s wedding photography blogs!

Hair and make-up – did you DIY or hire a professional?

Hired professionals. Dee Hargreaves did our makeup and Donna Highton did our hair – they were both amazing.

General styling – did your venue need much decoration?

We had white drapes and fairy lights, with petals and candles down the aisle.

Crafts and makes – tell us about any homemade elements of your wedding… did you enjoy them?

Yes! We added personal touches to our stationary and favours.

The wedding cake: what kind of cake did you choose and why?

We went for a white chocolate ganache 3-tiered cake and added strawberries.

Entertainment: any musical recommendations, surprises or treats?

Our soul and motown band, The Soultones, were fantastic, even better than we expected, and got everyone up dancing all night. We also had a photobooth which was great fun.

Words of wisdom: share your best piece of advice for other couples:

Be kind to each other, laugh together, say thank you for the little things and don’t sweat the small stuff!

What’s the best thing about being married?

Getting to hang out with my best friend for the rest of my life is pretty great.
