New Letterpress wedding invitations for 2018 by Wolf & Ink
London-based boutique Letterpress studio Wolf & Ink has recently launched its 2018 collection of wedding invitations – and I simply had to share them with you on the blog today. I adore letterpress – the soft, textured papers have a wonderfully warm feeling to them and are always a dream to write on. Wolf & Ink are one of my favourite letterpress stationers – Julia’s designs are contemporary and unique; they’re full of character and timeless designer style. Have a look at our favourites here on the blog today (which Julia will introduce for you) – and then hop over to Wolf & Ink to see more. Don’t leave it too late to book!Β
The Wolf & Ink wedding invitations range is inspired by the many varied and intricate designs that can be created by a vintage one-of-a-kind letterpress machine.
For those new to the letterpress method of printing, its main advantage over modern digital (flat) printing is the range of indentations that can be created. A plate is made up with the design and text, which is then pressed down onto the cardstock, creating that distinctive style of indentation (known in the industry as a βdebossβ).
Pair this stunning, tactile print method with ink or foil and youβve got a truly unique invitation!
The new range from Wolf & Ink has been designed specifically to showcase some of these unique characteristics.
In the Copper London skyline invitation, for example, a simple line drawing of the London skyline has been printed with copper ink onto soft grey card, to create an urban, yet classic invitation. This would be perfect for a London wedding with a gritty edge, touches of industrial, and a wabi sabi effect.
Whereas the eye-catching Neon Fiesta invitation is ideal for a couple who just want to party in the sun! Here, the traditional letterpress deboss is combined with a very modern ombre neon ink effect. The bright inks are layered up on the inking disc, meaning that no two invitations will be exactly alike.
In total, six new designs have been added to Wolf & Inkβs wedding range.
You could also choose the Modern Geometry design, which uses a contemporary font and modern geometric shapes overlaid, enhanced by soft hues of ink.
Gold Deco is a stunning art deco set, inspired by the opulence of the 1920s and created with gold foil printing.
London Skyline is perfect for an elegant London wedding. The flint grey ink printed on thick cardstock speaks of luxury.
Finally, the tranquil Island design features Mediterranean tones and a minimalist illustration, inspired by some of the most popular bespoke requests to the studio.
