Me.
I don’t really talk about me much, so I thought maybe I should come out from hiding behind my screen and tell you / show you who I am and a little bit more about me! Feel free to ignore if you’re looking for wedding dress inspo… but please read on if you’d like me to make your wedding invitations!
Hi! I’m Claire. I write the English Wedding Blog. This is me.
That was the path to the beach, which starts at the end of the road my house is on. I spend a lot of time there and pretend it’s on the way to the post office. It isn’t – the post office is ten minutes walk away but I go the scenic (beach) way which takes twenty.
This is my desk. This is where I’m sat writing the blog right now. I don’t have a laptop – my old one got a bit burny one day so I upgraded to a device which I can only work on while I’m sat at my desk. It helps work life balance a LOT!
I write the English Wedding Blog a day or two days a week (but we publish nearly every day). The rest of the time I’m a calligrapher, specialising in weddings!
This means I clear my desk as much as I can, move the keyboard to the side and get an old fashioned pot of ink, dip pen with a metal nib (I have hundreds) and write beautiful things by hand.
This is Bertie, my office manager. He supervises well and loves a good photobomb.
Mostly, I write wedding invitations and reception stationery. I create bespoke pieces for intimate weddings, for photoshoots, for anniversaries. I work with brides and grooms, spend my days covered in ink and never know what the next creative and exciting project will be.
I would love to write something for your wedding.
In January I designed my first wedding invitation collection, which I’m selling in my Not On The High Street shop. They’re doing well and I’m proud of them! I have a dozen or so new designs to add to the shop, which will probably appear on my Instagram first. I’m @bymoonandtide when I’m being a calligrapher. Here are some of the designs in the collection…
Prices for these printed wedding invitations start at £1.50 each. See the full collection here – www.notonthehighstreet.com/calligraphyforweddings
Browse my calligraphy website, shop online or email me with an enquiry – ask me anything.
I teach modern calligraphy too – I have a workshop in Manchester on Saturday afternoon which I can’t wait for!
So that’s me.
I love my job as a wedding blogger and calligrapher, and I’m so grateful to every single one of you for reading this and looking at my silly face and windy hair.
Thank you.
