Today’s real wedding is a stunner: beautiful bride Sarah wears a breathtaking dress by Jesus Peiro, while her bridesmaids simply shine in vibrant red. Groom Tristan looks amazing in a Horace & Sons suit while his groomsmen (many, as recommended by Sarah in her interview below the images!) look distinctive and dapper in braces and flat caps! This is a stunning wedding shot by our lovely friend and Priston Mill Wedding Photographer Martin Dabek.
Our wedding flowers were big and colourful! Rustic feels to the decorations for the venue but still, lots of colour! Emma Norton was our florist. I cannot tell you how fantastic her work was and how well she understood what I wanted. Perfect.
Other than the flowers, we dotted around a few home made decs but the venue certainly didn’t need this. It is so beautiful and full of character as it is (I mean it has a working watermill in it!!)
Wedding photographer’s website:
Choosing our wedding photographer was quite a lengthy process actually! We met with two other photographers before Martin and had been in contact with a number of others but none of them quite fitted with what we wanted and felt comfortable with as well as meeting my Dad’s rather high standards for quality. Martin was listed as a recommended supplier by Priston Mill and we spent time looking through his online photos and a wedding day portfolio he’d sent us before having a video call with him to make sure we got along!
I am sure everyone loves their wedding pictures but we really do love ours (and it is fairly rare for me to like any photos with me in!). What is more, as well as capturing the day brilliantly and being wonderful to work with (always there but not often noticeable and always making us feel at ease as well as helping us get time to ourselves), the photos we have taken away are of a fantastic quality and a classic style that will stand the test of time. A true treasure.
Tristan and I are fairly introverted people but even for us, when we went over to Martin’s to pick up the photos and watch the film we couldn’t help but have great bug grins on our faces and laugh all the way through it. Getting home and spending time going through the photos time and time again still puts a huge smile on my face every time.

Tell us about your accessories: jewellery, shoes and anything else!
I didn’t buy any jewellery other than some earrings from Etsy. The dress had a statement neckline that I didn’t want to detract from. My grandma gave me a bracelet for the day and I wore old family rings (great Aunty’s).
And what did the groom wear?
Beautiful black striped morning suit with a red waistcoat from Horace & Sons in Cheltenham
Beautiful bridesmaids: what did your best girls wear?
Tailor made dresses from JJ’s House (painstakingly selected)
Hair and make-up – did you DIY or hire a professional?
Rebecca Green did mine and my mum’s hair and makeup and the bridesmaids hair
Crafts and makes – tell us about any homemade elements of your wedding… did you enjoy them?
We got quite stuck on to homemade decorations and place names – loved it at first, realised perhaps had taken on more than I could manage (well) by the end.
The wedding cake: what kind of cake did you choose and why?
My brother baked salted caramel brownies (yum!) which were stacked on some logs my Dad cut and our florist decorated them with some petals 🙂
Entertainment: any musical recommendations, surprises or treats?
Our band – Lounge Cat Ideals – were our wild card and they were absolutley phenomenal. They blew everyone away. Now loads of our guest follow them/have their album! Definitely one of our best wedding decisions! Listen to them and you will understand why they kept everyone dancing!
Words of wisdom: share your best piece of advice for other couples:
Don’t worry too much about the little things! The band and photographer, get that and your guestlist right and everything else will be ok. Oh, and have as many groomsmen as you can lay your hands on – they are a huge help on the day and also help everyone feel included.
What’s the best thing about being married?
Ooh tough question! There is something peaceful or calming about it. Feels like everything has fallen into place.
